She gave me one of each with my kit. I'm not a coffee or flavored-coffee person, but my bf would probably like it. We've looked at some of Revolver's liquid to try, too. I'm digging the grape right now :)

You mean you haven't discovered the Mountain Dew flavored juice yet? It's out there.
BTW, a "mod" is short for "modification". It's an e-cig that was made from something else, or modifed to perform better than the standard. Hang around here and you'll be amazed at the different models, mods or not, that are out there.

I'm not sure what that is. The Volcano place has something called the Lava Tube which was big around...

I would classify pvs into a few main categories:

1. Slim - the Magma, Blu, Greencig, etc fall into the slim category. They mimic the look of an analog but have short battery life and weak vapor production. They have little options for improving performance.

2. Large Format - the eGo and all the clones fall into this category. The batteries should last between 8 and 16 hours on a single charge. Depending on setup, they have much more satisfying vapor production than the slims. They have the highest number of options available for improving performance.

3. Mod - these are pvs that improve something about category 2 including larger batteries, more pocket friendly format, or juice feeding systems, etc

4. DIY Mod - these are pvs that you build yourself either from a kit of from miscellaneous parts. They are intended to provide something specific typically be that high voltage, small form factor, etc.

5. VV Mod - these pvs can include categories 3 and 4 with the ability to change the power on command. Provari, Darwin and even the vv box mods from MadVapes fall into this category.

6. APV (Advanced Personal Vaporizer) - these are the cream of the crop. They are made of exotic materials using the highest quality components and innovations available. The majority are mechanical (aka, no wires or solder) and use innovative vapor delivery systems. Genisis atomizer style mods, GGTS, Silver Bullet, Megaladon and many others fall into this category.

So right now, you're using category 1...there's a whole other world out there of awesome e-cig products :)

That sounds like a cute scenario. Cozy. I'm glad to hear you didn't get put off by your first experience with e-cigs. Now you can take the money you save from not buying tents and magazines and cigarettes and spend it on carts and juices and atty's and fancy mods and batteries and............

Congrats and welcome!

Thank you :). I'm loving trying the juices and batteries will probably be a near-future purchase, but I don't know about the carts and mods yet. I think the IncrediSmokes came with cartomizers and I could take them or leave them, if that's the alternative to the liquid. If not, I'm sorry for being so dense. I don't have the part names down yet or the slang.

If I'm not mistaken, your Magma uses cartomizers. They are a cartridge and an atomizer built into a single unit. I would say the majority of vapers will recommend cartomizers to newbies. You fill the cartomizers with the liquid.

I just wanted to write an introduction and give a small backstory. I've read several threads already and have learned a lot. This is a great place!!

Welcome to ECF Amanda! You will find this to be a very pleasant place full of friendly helpful people. Congrats on putting down the analogs and picking up the ecig!

Congrats Amanda! That's a fantastic thing to hear, I just started February 1st and couldn't be happier, I haven't tried a ton of juices yet only 3 vendors but my latest is from puresmoker.com and they have some great fruit flavors, Mellon(watermellon) is quickly becoming my favorite vape and their berry is great too. Good luck keep at it and Congrats :)

Thank you! Congratulations to you, too :). I love berry stuff, so that's something to look forward to. I've been a smoker for over 10 years but never did like the taste of cigarettes so this has opened so many doors for me! I've bookmarked the site as we are looking for cheaper e-juice places with good reviews. Thank you, again.

Hi, I haven't read through all of the posts, but try ecblends... you can mix your own. Great job making the switch and welcome!

I actually just ordered 3 bottle from EC Blends. I went 100% PG because I don't know anything about the whole PG/VG thing and Volcano has PG, so I didn't want to mess with the taste/flavor/whatnot by changing from what I use now. I "made" a raspberry peach tea and also bought the orange cream and mixed berries. Very excited :). Thank you for the welcome!

Hello, everybody! I'm Amanda, and I'm new to e-cigs. The idea sparked when a friend said he was going to get Blu and quit smoking. Then, my guy and I saw Volcano e-cigs in the mall and we stopped and asked some questions and tried them but didn't buy. Then, my guy's mom bought my guy the IncrediSmoke starter kit at a local gas station (Go-Mart, I think). Ick!! It tasted horrible to me, like a cigar, and I couldn't use it at all without coughing and needing my inhaler which I ONLY need when I'm around perfume-y stuff. So that was a bust. On February 24, I went back up to the mall and got the Magma starter kit from Volcano and grape e-juice (which I fell in love it!). I haven't had a cigarette since and it's a big change. I had to smoke outside and I would read my Kindle or magazines while I smoked and drink Mountain Dew. Now, I'm vaping inside, hardly drinking Mountain Dew (I did drink 6-8 cans a day) with the e-cig, and haven't bought any magazines! I've quit or cut down on several things at once and it's quite a jolt to the system.

I just wanted to write an introduction and give a small backstory. I've read several threads already and have learned a lot. This is a great place!!

Unsolicited side note from a vegan health nut: Mountain Dew contains Calcium Disodium EDTA a chelating agent which saps minerals from your body. It is used in hospitals to lower the amount of heavy metals in your blood i.e lead poisoning. On top of that the high fructose corn syrup is terrible for your pancreas and can cause weight gain as a result. I recommend filtered tap water or unsweetened tea. In this day and age with the products sold on the open market it's caveat emptor. Let the buyer beware.

The Perfumer's Apprentice (TPA) has the cheapest and strongest flavors I have seen.

Other flavor companies that ECF members use: Capella's, Flavourart, Lorann. I cannot speak for their quality although I know some of them use oils in their flavorings and that is bad for your atomizer/cartomizer. TPA has reviews from vapers and also is forthright in the ingredients in each flavor specifically telling you not to vape certain ones because of the chemicals in them.

I ordered a nice array of flavors from TPA yesterday and I should have them in the mail in the next couple days.
The more PG the thinner the eliquid and the stronger the flavor, the more VG the more vapor you get. For cartomizers I recommend a 70/30 blend of PG to VG. Too thick for a cartomizer and it will affect the wicking which will kill it faster. Also, VG leaves more gunk behind in your carto which can lead to needing to clean it more often and can also lead to an early caro demise. 70/30 with 18mg has a much smoother (i hate this terminology) throat hit than say 60/40 25mg. The nicotine is the main contributor to the throat hit.

Thank you for the Mt. Dew info and the liquid info, Shoga. I use an atomizer right now. I don't really care how much vapor I get and I never liked a throat hit (the reason I would drink soda while smoking), so I'm guessing PG is an okay choice for my preferences? I had a lot of time to experiment and find what I like, but I'm getting a load of information from everyone here and it's great! Thank you for your replies.

I've been vegan now for almost 2 years and when I first switched I started drinking only water and tea. You'd be surprised how easy it is. At first it seems weird not having a soda with your meals, but give it a week and you will not even notice the difference. Why not add the removal of soda to the removal of tobacco from your life and just imagine how good you'll feel. It took me a long time to get to this point but I knew that there was something messed up about being a vegan health nut and also a smoker. I'm already smoke free thanks to my KGO.

I've already removed the soda. I've been drinking iced tea and water. I love, love, love the raspberry peach tea at Olive Garden but, alas, our nearest one is an hour away and I haven't found something that tastes like it. I also like diet green tea with honey; I buy that by the gallon. Soda now seems much more carbonated since I am not burning my mouth with cigarettes.
