Let's start a novel because I'm quite stressed, tired, but too stressed to sleep and I have a variety of points to go over.

When it rains it pours. I'm dealing with a monsoon. My income was suddenly cut off about 2 months ago. I wasn't sure exactly when this storm was going to start but I prepared for the inevitable. I bought 4 14500 back up batteries for my mod and was pretty well set on most of my other back up stuff. I flirted with Murphy's law and absolutely lost. 3 of the 4 batteries seem to be toast before even first use. I SHOULD of tested them first thing out of the mail. I hope the vendor will be understanding but it's been over 30 days so nothing I can do if they are not. Speaking of this situation it would be nice even if it may slow things down to just... put a battery in a charger. Make sure the light turns red before shipping out than having to refund and replace. It would help both ends monetarily. The vendor doesn't lose as much replacing/shipping/neither does the customer vice versa(some sites say you, customer, must pay ship back bad item, understandable) At first I thought it was just ONE bad battery, and I was like.. Ya I'll just have to eat it but TWO more... calamity.

Just now my charger for these priceless 14500 started to make a strange gurgling. Plus, the charger itself is getting insanely hot at times. Chances are I should invest in a better higher quality charger but simply I'm down to my last monetary drops. To kick me further in my vaping gut I'm growing more and more concerned about my VV box mod. Lately, in it's lower right corner it's getting really hot... really fast. I'm not sure if it's because it's summer now or if my box mod is about to short out and kick the bucket. Oh ya... and did my mention for the last month my left eye won't stop twitching? I have a feeling it's all the stress.

Today from beginning to end so far.... Are the stars aligned in such a way to curse me? Did I break a mirror and not realize it? Did I give a gypsy a dirty look? Will my eye ever stop twitching? I was all excited today for a job interview. Woke up early, found my best shirt, face put on(but not too put on) only to arrive to be given a spiel about Kirby. What a downer. Depending where you are from you may not know so much about Kirby Vacuums. Friends and family in my area all agree : It's A Scam. On my way driving home I at least had the opportunity to stop by an employment agency. I am making an effort to get myself together over here. Feeling discouraged I got myself an ice cream cone and just sat at the park, reflecting. I collected whatever beer and water bottles that where in the garbage cans that I could before I left. Yes I'm that tapped out. I went from about 1,000 dollars emergency money saved to getting very close to 100$ until I find work(oil change, 6 month car payment, and town taxes all at once). All I have left needs to go to gas, I feel guilty about buying food, even that ice cream cone.

Anyways once I get home after some gardening and fighting with a seriously tangled hose that took super woman strength to wrestle undone this is when the battery fiasco started. One of my 14500 tops had become to actually come off. The moment I saw this my heart skipped a beat and into the trash it went.

Sorry to rant/vent/ect. I don't want anyone to feel bad for me, pity me. I'm just.... super stressed to the point of overload much it to do with some things I think only the vaping community can really have empathy for. I have to get it out before I pop is all and some advice is welcome on the vaping problems.

Lady Rant--(Oh ya... And the finale to absolutely ruin the day entirely? I find out Steel Magnolias is being re-made. Literately, same movie lines word for word only difference is race. Wouldn't it be more reflective of current society if it included women of ALL races being friends and family?? Just not a happy camper such a classic is being remade. You no touch classics. Steel Magnolias was an amazing film not only because it was great but because of the real life chemistry that existed between the cast. You can't copy that. )--Grr... All kinds of mad there.

If you think there's at all a safe way to save these so far "dead" batteries please let me know any tips.

2 of the batteries the positive (+) end nub is waaaay way too low. They seem charged but I don't think my mod can make the connection. The other one I think is just a flake.

Also based on my little novella, does it seem my box mod is about to die? Do you have a little burial and funeral for your first ever dead mod? jk :p

On A lighter note.... I hope you got a few chuckles out of all of this.

So sorry you are going through such a tough time at the moment.

I'm afraid I cant't help with your battery problems but couldn't just pass by your thread without saying chin up. I've been where you are and totally understand how you are feeling. It will get better and soon this time of your life will be a distant memory.

Good luck on the job hunt, fingers crossed for you.

Holy crap!
When it rains it pours.
You can say that again!

I'd say I can relate, but I would be lying. However, I did just run out of my favorite juice, and all my other juices are tasting pretty bad right about now, plus tomorrow is... wait... today is Independence day so who's gonna be open? Nobody :glare:

Chin up, things always get worse before they get better. And the bad is usually compensated by equal good. So look forward to the awesome stuff that's coming your way, hopefully soon! :)

Thanks to everybody Blu, Dawn, ohai( lol great vacuums yes but I don't buy people can afford a 1800$ one in this economy),WCSR, dgm-hope you're right as well with others who shared similar sediment. I appreciate the kind words from everybody, truly.

I'm not looking for anyone to feel bad and send me stuff WCSR. Just so stressed out I couldn't take it anymore had to get it out of me at the very least. I do hope and I know you're right this will all become a distant memory. It's extra stressful when you... just can't wait too long. I'm trying to make magic happen over here right now.

Can't help but feel bad for you. Like I said... I've been down that road before. It's rough.

As for asking people to send you stuff... Really hope I didn't offend you. I just know that this community we have here will not allow you to be without vaping supplies in such a time. I will personally give you whatever I can to get ya by.

Frosting,
I sent you a pm.

Thank You... so much. There just aren't words and "Thank You" doesn't express my gratitude nearly enough.

WCSR- No you didn't offend me. I know you mean well and I would honestly probably say the same as you. "Heeey can anybody help a vaper out?" It's just difficult for me to take help sometimes. I was raised I should take care of myself, I grew up being scolded by my grandmother "I had to live in the Great Depression when I was your age! You'd never survive!" lol... It's surreal that that kind of economy has come back. For me having close family members who lived during the Great Depression you think no not my country, my country wouldn't let that happen again. /end random slightly political? ramblings.

Don't worry about sending me anything though. My greatest thanks for others generosity.

You may have to step outside the box if conventional means aren't finding you employment. Have you considered:

1) Masked crime fighter
2) Mercenary
3) Vaping consultant

Seriously though all I can say is DONT GIVE UP!!!!! Jobs are out there; grab a paper, get on craigslist, create a jobsearch profile on any job site, YOU CAN DO IT!

BTW, I can spare a kgo if you have a charger.

It lasts maybe 2 hours lol but it will get me by.

If I ever go out of business number 5 is my backup plan. Only problem is that I would sound like Doctor Girlfriend from the Venture Brothers so I dont know how successful I would be...

When it rains, it pours...a lot of us have been there. You will make it :) Since you are on cl looking...why not sell services? No, not those! Run errands for people, clean, shop, etc. Instead of waiting for someone looking, list what you will do and maybe someone will bite.

You aren't frugal enough. The smart move is to offer help in "training" ;)

To address the equipment issues, the battery "nubs" may be correctable with a rare earth magnet from radio shack. They will be located in one of the parts drawers. If they are, in fact, holding a charge, that's where I would start. Your pv may need a little work done to it. Check the Connecticut sub group and see if someone may live close enough to you that has some modding experience that could take a look at it. they may be able to get it back running at 100%. Good Luck. :)

And Mastercard! 4.99 the first minute and 3.25 every additional minute. Plus I will be giving a 5% discount for ECF members!

Gonna call it Gerbchat!

This right here is a pretty good idea. Also since its summer you can always start a landscaping business.

1) Pick a residential neighborhood(s) with actual lawns.

2) Go door to door offering to mow/weed eat/hedge trim with the home owners own equipment. Might have to do this on the cheap since you are using their gear.

3) Once you have a a little money use it to print up flyers. Hand them out door to door, put them up on community bulletin boards (churches, community centers, grocery stores, etc) and anything else you can do to get your name out there.

4) Once you have a few repeat customers and a little more $$$ coming in then its time to buy a mower, weed eater, etc. At this point you will be able to charge more for your services as well as look more professional to potential clients.

5) ADVERTISE ADVERTISE ADVERTISE! Keep pumping out flyers, get some business cards made, and always have both on you at all times. Hand out cards to EVERYONE you talk to. At the gas pump, in line at the grocery store, waiting at the DMV, everywhere you go people get your card. Dont let up; its better to turn down jobs than to not have enough. Also get some signage on your vehicle and consider having shirts made up with your company name; not only does this help promote your business but it reassures potential customers that you are a legitimate company and not just some random person with lawn mower.

6) As long as you can keep getting work and growing your customer base then we will at some point need to have the employee talk. And the liability/workers comp talk. And the state licensing talk. And the quarterly tax returns talk along with the EDD / BOE / IRS talk.

There you go: a 6 step plan to financial freedom that requires virtually 0 start up capital. It will suck at first; it will be long hard days for little money. You will sweat and you will bleed, but you will be doing it for yourself and no one else.
