Charlzrocks, you seem to want to be a loyal customer so badly, even though they are not making it easy (if not impossible) to do so. So what stops you from abandoning SI (and this thread for that matter) and just start buying 510 stuff from other merchants (510 stuff is easier to find). Just curious because while I am not abandoning SI altogether, I have ventured into the 510 world and I am starting to see that it's much better in terms of sourcing because there is a wide array of both online and BM merchants selling 510 stuff (just the opposite for 808 stuff).

I have a lot of 510 stuff already, it's just that I paid good money for the SI/Volt x2 passthrough batteries and their proprietary threaded Aspire clearos that I do not want them to go to waste. I want to use them till the batteries die but, well, can't do that without buying new clearos from SI 'cause that seems to be the only way I will get new heads! Any other stupid questions? Suffice it to say that they have ...... me off.

Really???!!!
That's news to me! Since the mini and other BDC devices are slightly different, I imagine the standard Aspires would not fit the others.

When it comes to SI's Aspire and the 510 Aspire the only thing that is different is the base that screws onto the battery. The coils have the same threading and screws onto both bases of the 808 and 510. I only use the Aspire Vivi Nova and have only bought replacement coils for it.

Also, you can also screw a 510 base onto your 808 aspire.

The 510 Aspire coil has a longer shaft than the SI Aspire coil. The SI Aspire coil has a shorter shaft and will not connect with the regular ego battery post. The X2 battery has a post that is longer than a regular ego battery, therefor, you can't use the longer shafted 510 coil with the X2 battery or you will push the battery post down and ruin the X2. So, no they are not interchangable (maybe the Vivi Nova is, but I use maxi's) and trust me, I have tried all the options. If you could obtain replacement heads from SI you could see the difference in the SI and 510 versions of the heads. This does NOT excuse SI from not having replacement heads in stock, PERIOD.

charlz, no offense taken. For the record, though, I was simply curious. I know my post came across as accusatory or something, but I was more curious than anything.

I'm relatively new to this stuff but I'm trying to learn as much as possible. I am very frustrated to be learning that I made a mistake relying on SI since they have proprietary threading. I am actually going to start a new thread about this soon in an effort to understand things better.

No problem, understood! There are so many folks out there that are unaware of this symptom of the SI/Volt brand. Education is the best when you run into these circumstances!

We are not trying to ignore you guys. We are trying to get some answers ourselves. Standard T3's and replacement heads for them came in last week but we are still waiting to hear back from Aspire. We placed the order a while ago (months) and we have not gotten shipping confirmation from them yet. We have a lot of replacement heads and tanks on the way and I will let you all know when I hear anything.

Just send me 3 free Aspire heads for my Maxi's when (and if) they come in. I'm tired of looking at the site and checking my email.

I pulled out my Aspire ET that I do not use anymore and the coil is smaller than the Aspire Vivi Nova. So it looks like the CE5, MAXI, ET, MINI VIVI BDC 2.0ML all use the smaller coil that is possibly only carried by SI. The Aspire Vivi Nova uses the standard coil by Aspire that you also use for the 510's.

I ran out of coils so I went to my local vape shop yesterday and had to pick up 5 coils for the Nova. He said that Aspire doesn't make the BDC coil anymore and now they only make BVC coils. I just read a post from Steve that Aspire hasn't shipped the coils so that could be one reason. Who knows.

So I put in the new BVC coil and I am impressed so far. I am getting a better draw and lots of vape so far. Hopefully it lasts as long as the BDC coils did but so far the flavor is great.

Hmmmm...that could answer a lot of questions. Glad to know that the BVC coils work for you. I had heard that they gurgled, but I might try them sometime in the future.

You got it. Can't find 808 aspire coils for sale anywhere. Apparently Aspire must only make 808 coils for SI. Funny how they don't even put their logo on the clearomizers that SI sells. They don't even have their logo etched on the coils like they do on teh 510 BVC and BDC coils I bought locally. no ohms and voltage rating etched either. Must do this to keep costs down so SI can sell the 808 versions for the same as the regular 510 versions.

I personally don't know what to say about the BVC coils. I own 2 CE5S's ("S" just stands for steel sheild around the plastic/glass) and one ETS for 510/ego. Both have BVC coils and both are very airy on Vision 510 spinners. I own 1 CE5 and 1 ETS for my SI spinner and they are much less airy on the draw. In fact, they are just perfect. So, not sure if this airyness has to do with the BVC coils or because of the 510 design of the clearos.
