Time to vent a bit. Evods,Pro tank ii, Iclear30S, Nautilus. Own a couple of each. They all are so inconsistent. Feel like I spend more time dicking with heads, coils and such that it takes away any enjoyment. Aspire heads are hit and miss on the nautilus and it has an "off taste" compared to the iclear. Iclears are juice hogs and I notice that after a couple of days it turns my juice brown and starts not working as well. Pro Tank II(optional air control) works ok as do evods but I want a better vape. Tried dripping with a small 306 atty but that's messy(even with shield) and tedious. Maybe I need to get into rebuilds. Already have spent well over $250 on tanks and heads in 5 weeks and not very satisfied. Am I in the minority?

Maybe its just a bad day. My new VTR has gone wacky on reading ohms. Jumps from 1.8 to 4.2 with the nautilus attached. So frustrating.

I see that you are new to vaping. Check for local vaping clubs in your area and look at about 200 hours of YouTube reviews.
There is a learning curve to this tobacco replacement.
For YouTube, look up
Vaping dry burning
Ecig dry burning
Vaping flavor wicks
Vaping vv

Just to start.

Hang in there and you will get it all pretty quickly!!

I can commiserate. I was about at your experience place in vaping when I seriously took a look into "upping" my game. I wish it was only $250 I spent on junk that was leaving something to be desired.

I considered both cartotanks and the RBA/RDA route--spent tons of time researching and soul searching. I chose a Reo Grand. First timer into rebuilding and mechanical mods, but I am so glad I made the switch. Do the reading in some of the sub-forums of the type of setup you may like--Provari, Reo, High-End mechanicals, etc. all have threads or forums.

While deciding, it doesn't hurt to pick up some kanthal wire, watch some You-tube, and learn to re-coil those PT2 heads. Since your VTR is iffy on the ohm reading, pick up a $15 black box style ohm meter to measure your coils, to be on the safe side.

Nope. I went through the same thing first two months of vaping career. I never truly enjoyed vaping until I started rebuilding but some people have less issues with clearos and tanks. I just did not have the patience to get them to work well. There is a learning curve to everything so even rebuilding can be frustrating at times. It will get better so hang in there. :vapor:

You're in what's called the "trough of disillusionment". It will pass, but there are some things you can do to work yourself through it.

As has been suggested above, consider 2 things: carto tanks and rebuildables.

There is lots of information on both here in the forum and on YouTube, and they ARE better than living with the issues you're experiencing. Cartos are only marginally more difficult to set up than clearos and are the end state for many vaper here in ECF. Moving on from that in terms of learning curve and effort are the rebuildables, BUT, they deliver the most consistent (and richest) experience. You might be ready for that, but do your research before setting out.

Hang in there - we've aaaaall had crap days with crap tanks on devices that are crapping out all the crapping time. You're not alone and we're here for ya.

I hear ya. Everything has it's little tricks and requires maintenance. All coils and wicks get gunked up in time, how quick depends mostly on the juice you're using. I suggest you stick with one or two devices and learn how to make them work the best they can for you before moving on to something else. If you keep switching devices without doing that, you'll never know what the last one could have been like at its best.

Thanks. Yep atty box ordered last week and have some 28 ga kanthol in hand from TemCo.VTR went berserk and popped a manger coil this afternoon at 8 watts. It's getting an RMA. With juice, batteries and nick knacks, I'm at about $850 in four weeks. Talk about jumping in.....:)

Haha, no thanks. I have a shoebox full myself. I only use one Spinner, one MVP2, and a couple EVODs (that I rebuild coils for). The rest is waiting for friends and family to be ready to give up cigarettes. There is a "Pay it Forward" forum/thread here somewhere (I saw it once, don't remember where), if you're serious about donating/swapping with others. Or become a "verified member" to access the classifieds here.
