Johnson Creek explains that if you have a nut allergy you should not use their product. People also have PG allergies.

Do you think, or are there any studies about whether people are allergic to PG OR are they just allergic to the flavors mixed in?

After reading other posts about allergic reactions, I'm wondering if people are actually allergic to other things in the juice...

That is a really good question. I don't think there have been a lot of studies done to confirm this on any level. I know that by reading in the forum that some members are having a reaction to both pg and vg. So like you it leaves me to wonder if it is actually the pg and vg or something in the flavorings. I can say though that when my ex and me both had a reaction to the vg and we switched to pg we were both fine. We were using the same flavorings so i can only assume it was the vg.

I use only PG now since, everytime I tried vg, I got canker sores and cold symptoms. Even if it was a mix of pg & vg. The flavor did not seem to matter. I thought I was the only one since most posts I have read cite PG as the bigger culprit!

I don't feel I am allergic, but I do feel like I get a reaction. I get "very rashy" to both flavors and higher percent of VG in my eliquid. My all day now is Unflavored at 80/20 PG/VG. It took a lot of testing to find out what my issue was, but now I am pretty happy.

Thats exactly what I vape and for the very same reasons.

Some people have definite PG sensitivity. My sister is such a person -- a PITA, since PG is found in many daily items, even Vaseline Intensive skin lotion. She vapes 0PG.

Can you tell me what OPG is? I assumed my issue was an allergy to PG; but when I switched to VG based - I still have problems. Dry, itchy skin and rashes.

I used regular PG based liquid for more than a year when I started vaping before having trouble.

I posted over in the Madvapes forum wondering what the difference was between the China liquid that they sell (Dekang?) and the Top Vapor liquid. There's apparently a difference in PG/VG percentage (10% VG for the China, 20% for the TV), but I'm not sure what else and I don't think that's related to the issue I'm having.

The reason I asked was I have no problems at all with MadVapes' Top Vapor liquid; yet the China liquid seems harsh and gives me a sore throat. At first I thought it was the nic content, but it does it even if I dilute it with even as much as 25% VG. To a lesser extent, but still happens. That also rules out it being a PG/VG issue for me.

Anyway, I wouldn't call it an allergic reaction per se, but who knows... there's something in some that aren't in others that just doesn't agree with me. Whatever it may be, as long as Top Vapor doesn't switch over to whatever it is in the "China" liquids, I'll be ok just sticking with their "house brand" :2cool:
