i hear lots of talk about being alergic to PG, and having to switch to VG instead

but i get a pretty obnoxious irritiation when i vape ecopure. I haven't tried any other VG based liquids, but if ecopure is as pure as they say it is, it stands to reason that the issue is the VG.

is this possible? i coudln't find any threads about being allergic to VG or having any sort of reaction. other than casual mention that some are allergic to it.

since i can't find VG around me to test this, if i tried to vape pure wilton SG, would a VG allergy show it's self with that?

Being allergic to VG is the same as being allergic to, for example, peanuts. Because essentially, its the same source.

Allergies to PG and VG are assumed to show the same as food allergies, since that is the only way they are known to appear - with food.

Upper respiratory irritation is what happens when you inhale PG or VG in too large a quantity. There are two steps you can take:

1) Drink more fluids (like water, not bourbon)
2) Vape less.

If you feel like you need to vape alot to satisfy habit, try putting in a no-nicotine solution (straight VG/PG, a mix, whatever, add some flavor), and puff, but don't inhale. If you feel the need for more nicotine, go to a higher strength.

Aside from that, using a PV is different - most people adjusted to it, and their bodies adjusted to it, within a week or two. No more upper respiratory irritation for them.

I was going to cut my liquids with VG, partially because it was easier for me to get at the time. I cut some liquid about 1:3 with VG (1 part VG, 3 parts JC or whatever) and had an irritation in my nose and sinuses. It wasn't anything super bad or life-threatening, but it wasn't "right" and I'm sure it was the VG. I only do liquids with mostly PG now. If I want, I can put a couple of drops per mL of VG in for more vapor, but otherwise, I don't use it.

I think it's right to question every component of juices that give you a "bad" reaction.
Try vaping just plain unflavored VG, whatever nic you require. Try to eliminate the components in your juice that could be the culprit. Flavorings also contain PG, some are water/alcohol based, see if you can research those as well. But VG and PG are both humectants, can feel very drying in your mucous membranes. Try to drink more H2O, try menthol drops, to moisten your tissues. Sometimes the combination of all ingredients can be grossly over-done and irritating, try cutting down your vaping cadence, slow down. Would be highly unusual be be actually allergic to VG, but it's possible. Most problems stem from using PG. May be the presence of a nut oil being an ingredient. Many people are lactose or peanut intollerant (vegetable glycerin could then be included in the "knowns", some made from palm oil). PG in known to create lactic acid buildup in muscles, people with neurological or systemic (auto-immune) disorders can feel the results of that. Know what by-products may be involved in ingesting/processing any substance before you take anything for granted, the sugars, lactic acid, etc.....do some homework. Could be one Brand is wrong for you, another may be perfectly fine.

Same here I think. Had my 510 for about a week, very light vaping was okay for about 4 days, then it started and has rapidily gotten worse. I've read that muscle aches, scratchy resp tract are common, but I seriously haven't felt this bad in years. It's like I'm coming down with a serious upper respiratory infection without the lymph swelling. Nausea too. I'm not touching this Ecopure anymore I think. It's not nic withdrawal either, I've quit cold turkey for several weeks before and not felt like this. It's like I've inhaled fiberglass or chainsmoked unfiltered Camels.

I've also been reading posts here that the atomizers are well capable of heating the VG to the point it becomes highly toxic Acrolein gas. I'm not crazy about inhaling massive amounts of a chemical used in trench warfare; better to just kick out the crutches altogether. I was only like a half-pack a day addict.....which brings to mind that Bob Saget scene from the movie Half Baked.

Anybody know how about Celiac and Gluten?
E-liquid production is Gluten free (available for celiacs) or no?
Did them make tests for Gluten?

As far as I know, PG and VG are both on the Gluten free safe ingredients list.

I've googled both PG gluten free and VG gluten free (spell out PG and VG, don't abbreviate) and I can find nothing about it containing gluten, just the opposite. Sorry I can't post links yet, but if you do this check out the top link to the Clan Thompson site where they list all the ingredients and their origin, and whether they contain gluten.

I have Celiac and I use VG exclusively, but only because it's the first juice I tried and I had no problems with it, so I stuck with it. I learned early if it doesn't make me sick that day, it's okay for me to use. But that's just me.

I'm thinking about ordering the smallest bottle I can find of PG Vanilla 26mg just to see if I can tolerate it.

But so far no problems on VG. I'm so sensitive, I would know within 3 hours if I could tolerate it or not.

Any Celiacs here besides myself? I'd love to hear your PG/VG experiences. :)
