All I can say is Thank God..I CAN SMELL the smoke..7 months ago I might not have until it was too late! I just thought of that.
Mike does snore and has the breathing machine (c-pap)to help him with Apnea and COPD. His overnight breathing test was just awful. Oh the joys of a lifelong smoker!
The Chantix is the only thing that has helped him, but it makes him very lightheaded and just couldn't stay with it while working and driving. Now that he is retired..it may be ok.
We have tried high Nic, different devices, cartomizers ect. He just can't quit..not for lack of trying! (and me nagging gently)
I am hoping that the chantrix for the cigarette avoidence and 0nic cartos for the hand to mouth) might work. I sure hope so!
Thank you all for your kindness!:)

last night my husband burned a hole in the mattress..not a small cigarette hole, a baseball size hole! Thru the covers, sheets and into the mattress! I was 2 rooms away and smelled smoke! I checked the kitchen thinking he had left the oven on after making a snack. I looked in the bedroom and saw smoke rising! He was sound asleep.
I yelled and woke him up and poured his water on the smoke. Together we made sure the mattress was cold and wet before I could rest. I have heard of mattresses and couch's bursting into flames hours after the fire was out.
He has been half hearted trying to quit analogs but he is still at the half and half stage. he takes a bag full of meds everyday for heart problems and back pain. Then there's a whole drawer of more meds for the stomach pain the bag full of drugs give him!
He falls asleep anywhere anytime. He doesn't smoke in the bedroom normally due to the falling asleep thing. But for some reason last night he did.
Tonight he starts on Chantrix and I ordered 0nic marl liquid and some 0nic cartos from Steve. The Chantrix worked for him a few years ago but he was working then, it made him dizzy and that's not good when you have a long commute. But he is retired now and can sleep all he would like.
Wish us luck!

OMG MaryKay!!! that is sooo scary! I'm happy to hear that everything turned out ok.

Sorry to hear this MaryKay, I have had family members who had to stay with me and they have done the same. With all the meds and stuff it can happen too easy and a lot of times they didnt even know they had one fired up when they wake up.

Keep a good eye on him with that Chantrix I have heard a lot of bad stories about that stuff.

Wow!! Glad you were awake and smelled it. Count your blessings.

My hubby is still smoking too. but he is half-heartedly trying also.

I actually did something similar a couple months ago. Not as bad as your husband though. Cig fell out of the ash tray that I had sitting on my bed (not something I normally did). Now I have I nice size burn mark in this really pretty quilt I had just gotten recently. I was more than a little mad at myself! So glad I quit smoking!!!!

**hugs**

I've a near and dear friend who, on a bunch of medications, had a difficult time remembering that she'd even driven to the store to GET smokes, muchless where she lit them up. It scared me more than a little on a few occasions having found her asleep on the patio death-gripping a dead .....

Fortunately her finance has been keeping a good eye on her til she gets through this mess. Let this be a wake-up call to him and those still smoking at least in their houses. It's frightening, and how fortunate for him.

Thoughts and prayers, hun.
