I heard about vaping a year ago from a co-worker, and I'd wanted to quit smoking for a long time, and had tried a couple times unsucessfully. I tried cold turkey once, and the gum a second time. The gum was kind of nice, but my difficulty was that I actually missed the ACT of physically smoking. It seemed weird not going outside for smoke breaks, etc.

And the e-cigarette was a godsend. I started off with the Blu ecig...and I hated it. The cartridges seemed really small, it didn't feel like I was getting any nicotine out of it even though I had a higher dosage, and worst still....the vapor production was awful. Even brand new cartridges seemed to barely produce any vapor. I discontinued using it quickly.

I then found the Duo by VaporCorp, I got this one because you can buy it at local waterbeds n stuff stores, which (when they actually have the cartridges I want) makes it really convenient. I discovered the Duo in June of last year...and have not had an analog cigarette since.

I love vaping, and the Duo overall is really good. These are my few gripes with it:

1. The larger batteries don't seem to work hardly at all. They produce little to no vapor, whereas the short ones produce a fair amount.
2. 'Dud' cartridges. I hate this the most. I usually vape the 6mg and a lot of times when I get new cartridges, either from the store or from their website, you get a lot of cartridges that don't actually work. I expect, though it doesn't always happen, to get at least 1-2 duds in every 5pk I buy.
3. When the cartridge is probably 60%-70% done it starts to taste awful and actually burn your throat. I joke that I'm inhaling battery acid.
4. Slow shipping from the website. I dk why this is but even when you pay for supposed faster shipping it still takes weeks to get the cartridges sometimes.

Other than that the Duo has been great. Anyone have any recomendations for a new vape product? I'm considering trying a new one but there are sooo many. My big thing is vapor production. I want one that produces a significant amount of vapor as this FEELS the most like smoking.

One thing that helped me when I gave up the analogs was I KEPT the same habits as my regular smoking. Even though you can technically use this inside, I really don't. I go outside at bars and such to vape...because its like I trick my mind into the fact that I'm smoking. So I go outside to vape in public, and I do things like have my after dinner or wake up vape. Because of this, I don't miss the nasty analogs at all.

vaping was indeed a godsend for me. I'd been smoking 15 years at almost a pack a day. I haven't looked back since last June.

Hi Marcus - or should I say "Hail!" Congratulations! 10 months without a cigarette is impressive. Do you refill your cartridges? I'm thinking a little more VG in the mix would give you more vapor. Thursday will be my 5 month mark and I don't think I'd've gotten this far without my eGo. I'm sure you'll get plenty of recommedations.

You might try a thermometer shake on those 60% done ones that are burning your throat. It might force the liquid down enough towards the atomizer that you'd be able to finish the cartridge.

Congrats on your one year mark! :p

Like you, I started with the Blu. I found that their cartridges were not all that satisfactory and their batteries on the light performing side for an ex- one pack a day smoker.

I moved on to the Joye 510 and never regretted it. All the parts are readily available from a lot of on line suppliers (there is even a store nearby with batts, attys, and juices), it's very portable and easy to use in many places without raising eyebrows. I never had issues with slow service or long shipping times. I ordered attys on line Friday and got them today...

Good luck in finding your next vaping tool. I hope to join your one year anniversary club in six months.

Congrats! Go with the ego. You can get one at LF for $30. 8+ hours battery life.

If you want something larger (and pricier) check out the igo or Go Go. The GoGo has a huge battery and holds about 3 ml of juice. I think they're around $60. I don't have one but there are lots of threads about it on the board if you do a search.

nhaler carries the igo and GoGo. LiteCigUSA also carries the GoGo.

I also started with the blu cig. I got it probably 6 months ago. I really didn't like it. The cartridges ran out way to fast and like you said I just didn't feel like i was getting a nicotine buzz or a good throat hit like I did from a regular cigarette. I didn't realize there were lots of ecigs out there and figured the ones that were out were mostly the same so I just stopped smoking the ecig and went back to analogs. I'd really like to get back into it though and am in the process of figuring out which cig I want to buy. Trying not to make the mistake I made the first time buying the blucig.
