Lee, welcome to the journey of ecigs. You can buy samples so you aren't spending a lot of $$ and regardless, it wouldn't be throwing your money away. At $5-$10 a pack depending where you are think about which choice (traditional cigs or a few discarded sample flavors) makes more sense. Also, as many have noted on this forum many times - your taste changes so what you don't like keep and try again in a few weeks.

Good luck to you both.

VISINE: I think you might like a battery with more "ompff" and thus a higher vape. Try one one of the higher mah batteries (manual/sealed) like the Volcano Inferno or others. Try some drip tips and dripping. One of the things that helps some of us is turning this into a "hobby" of sorts. Try some VG based juice for more vape. And remember, no matter where you are now or if you go backwards it's all ok because the main thing is you've found a means to do it - in your own time and your own way. At least you have the tools and have found a place to come to for support and help. BTW, I read all the posts and now that we're up to the 16th of January tell how you're doing.

Hey Webbcm127, Nice to see another person from Wenatchee. visinedrops is my son. I've smoked since Vietnam and this is my first time trying the e-cig. Wish I could try different flavors before buying them. I would hate to buy some and find out I don't like them, that would be like throwing my money away. Oh well, I try some from my son once in a while to see if they work for me.
My name is Lee

lol. Don't like a $2.50 juice sample bottle.............so what. How much money did we burn on cancer sticks??? It will balance itself out in the end. I got to where I didn't like my smoking habbit but that didn't stop me from lighting up and burning a quarter every time I got the urge. And if you don't like a juice today doesn't mean it won't be your favorite next week as your taste buds change/get back to normal. If all else fails and you truly don't like something after a few weeks, there is always PIF where you can buy/sell/trade to get something that is satisfying, so no money lost like if you had bought a pack of smokes that were too nasty to smoke and had to throw them in the trash.

I NEVER thought I could give up smoking...ever. 36mg 100%VG Tobacco flavor gave me what I needed to give 'em up. Five months ago my last half pack was on my patio and it's still there to remind me I'll never go back. There are days where I get the urge to smoke, sometimes several days in a row, but the urge does pass. The longer it goes the easier it gets

If you haven't tried the higher nic levels and want to give it a go before buying, drop me a PM with your address and I'll get a bottle out to you tomorrow. If it worked for me, it might work for you

My half pack is the passenger seat of my car. I leave them there just to remind me I can never go back. I will never go back.

Was an interesting find seeing this thread reactivated on the first page. So far, yes I've been smoking, but instead of a pack a day, the pack I bought Thursday morning at 10:00am was just emptied tonight (Sunday 9:15pm).

I've recently ordered more 36mg, and a few different flavors to try out. I kinda like the V4L dunhall 36mg, and figure I might as well try some orange juice and watermelon flavors too. I'm currently testing out a 18mg cowboy VG, which has a decent flavor, but the TH isn't there, so I really don't care much for it.

Anyway, that's my update. Thanks everyone for chiming in. :)

Excellent to hear about the reduction!! I read your opening post and our stories are quite similar overall. Very heavy smoking with windows closed, cigarette packs everywhere, extra lighters, mastering how to put a touch of alcohol on a lighter to make it light if it had run out etc etc etc.

I also read about TH not being there and that may be why you smoke some each day. I think a PV switch and technique adjustment may make a world of difference for you. 808 gives good TH but lacks consistency and batt life.
With my ego I get batt life but the vape is dull/dead. No life, no warmth etc. I use 36mg regularly with that for the TH and I direct drip. None of this cart/carto stuff.

I have a Leo as well and I can get warm, full, alive, satisfying TH with 18mg. Drip 2-3 drops in there and BAM! It's the same
warm, full, satisfying hit each time. If anything I prefer it to smoking! Honestly, I really do! This not a Leo commercial folks. It has its fair share of drawbacks but since my whole thing is TH and appears to be visine's as well, this may be of use to him.

All the best!

Thanks for all the advice everyone is giving. It sure makes me feel guilty when I have a few analogs. When I first got my E-cig last week, I went all day at work with just 3 Analogs but yesterday I had about 13 of them. I think when my son Visine get's his stronger carts, I'll see if he will let me try one and see if that helps.
I'd like to try a 28 or 36mg and maybe that will take away some of the cravings. Maybe it's the smell or taste of a real CIG that I like I don't know but something needs to change.

OP - One thing I've just realised and which I think will be the key for me to keep vaping and off the cigs is kind of revolutionary in it's simplicity.

I had read on here of people enjoying all these delicious flavors and 'all day vapes' etc and got the impression that vaping could be a new habbit so to speak as enjoyable as smoking rather than just a NRT (or cig replacement.)

Before that my simple Oriental liquid at 16mg (tastes bland as heck but does get rid fo the cig craving) and my menthol at 11mg were fine and after 6 draws on my pv - the cig craving went.

Then I bought all these flavored juices etc looking for that 'delicious, vape all day, really satisfying' juice - and all the expectations were dashed as they were all weak, too perfumy etc and not as delicious as the expectation I had of kind of a delicious flavored hookah experience.

Now this morning I said to myself 'maybe that is impossible to find. Stop expecting more than just something to do instead of smoke a cigarette and stave off the cravings.'

Just pulled 6 draws off a strawb menthol mix I made which was too weak and not that magic elixor I was hoping for

And you know what? it works like that for me. It's not going to be this amazing all day delicious treat for me.

But just now, I had those 6 puffs, they were satisfactory (not AMAZING! DELICIOUS!) and I no longer want a cigarette. Next time I want a cig, I'll have 6 more puffs and put the pv out of my mind until I have another craving (most of which I have in social situations) and then drawn on the pv again.

Lower the expectations.

You'll get there man. Try some different flavors. There are some awesome fruity, deserty (if thats a word), and very unorthodox e-liquids out there. Experimenting is a ton of fun and I have found some that taste AWESOME.

I've only been doing this for a few days and I have no urge for an analog. Already I enjoy my Ego much more than I did any cigarette. Best of luck to ya mate!

Plenty of studies have shown that the actual act of smoking a cigarette is much more addicting than the actual nicotine.

I'm more addicted to my Red Cow DIY mix then I was to 3 pack a day smoking habit. There are "magic" flavors out there, you prolly dont want to actually find one, haha. I can't keep my PV out of my mouth, and when those 5ml giantomizers come in: no more refilling every hour.

Does it actually taste like red bull? That could be a nice vape....

I hear ya! And I feel your pain immensley!! You CAN do this..instead of saying I want to quit smoking. You must make the glass half full and not half empty. That being said, you are now going to say to yourself I choose to breathe clean air. That is where vaping comes in! Get a high nicotine content ejuice. 36mg sounds about right. We are all here for you!!! Be brave like I know you can!!

Yes, stronger tasting juices and higher nic content for when you really need it. I started on 16mg and it gave me a mad headrush and sometimes even a cough but after a month now I barely notice it and will get one strong (menthol, coffee, tobacco) juice in 24mg for when I feel I really need a 'hit.'

Might it also be a goo idea to get pg heavy juices? I find the pg gives a harsher more smoke like vape than vg and more flavor. Is that just me or is it par for the course guys?

Thats correct, in general PG is flavor and throat hit ('harsh-ness') and VG is vapor (smoke). Also, keep trying! it may take some time but I think you will eventually find that 'perfect' vape you're looking for. Best of Luck!

Febreeze should help with the stench and make it a little easier on the desire to smoke, although you may have to wash every article of clothing you own as well. I'm still taking tentative steps into the world of vaping right now and find that my car is the place where I most want to smoke an analog. Guess I need to take my own advice.
