There is a difference in how different resistance coils vape at the same wattage, so it's not that strange. Shorter coils vape "hotter" while wider gauge coils vape "cooler" but make more "clouds" ...

At the same voltage, yes, but lower gauge coils get around that by being capable of handling higher amounts of power.

Yes, but that's not the example here.

Here's the other part. I have realized this evening, that I am simply a low resistance kind of guy.
I can totally taste the difference between the 2.4 ohm coil (which actually measured 2.7) and a 1.8 ohm coil (which actually measures 2.0) - EVEN AT THE SAME WATT SETTING.
I just didn't figure that - I thought same wattage would yield same vapor and flavor - but no, I can tell the difference, and it's what was "wrong" for my vape.

An off taste or metallic taste may come from a metal tip, the coil, something from the manufacturing process, or the adhesive being heated or attacked by the juice.

Any "muted" flavor, imho, comes from the wick. The wick delivers juice but also acts as a filter. They "gunk up" from the flavor molecules not getting through.

A silica wick is very uniform with tightly packed together strands="muted flavor".

A cotton wick from a cotton ball is not as uniform with looser strands =ZOMG flavor much better. This also accounts for going through juice faster with a cotton wick.

Dripping drips juice right on top of the wick=More flavor.

Not because of magic or how different any of these devices are, it's all about how the flavor molecules (for lack of a better word) go through the wick (or don't).

Just an observation, take it for what it's worth.
