Almost ready to throw in the towel!

So I've been literally researching for over a month now on what product to get to maximize my vaping experience. I really did not want to post a thread asking for help and be "that girl", but I'm so frustrated at this point that it's my last resort. I have been analog-free now for a little over 4 months which is completely amazing considering that I couldn't even get a day under my belt without going temporarily insane for years. Like most people, I tried it all - the patch, gum, chantix, etc, until I eventually came to the conclusion that I would most likely die a terrible smoky death. Somehow I heard about e-cigs and went from there. I tried so many different "mini" setups and eventually settled on Greensmoke. It did its job well enough, I suppose, but I'm just tired of constantly charging batteries and buying carts and I want to move on to a 510 (I believe...?) setup. The problem is I really don't want to waste any more of my money on .... that I'm not going to end up using. I am fairly certain I will end up getting an Ego, but then there's so many versions and it's at the very least a little overwhelming.

Like I said, I really didn't want to post another "help me" thread, but I'm at the point where I'm not getting anywhere except repeatedly going in circles and I just want to buy the damn thing and be done with it. I just don't know if it's best to get an Ego, Ego-T, Ego-C etc. I definitely want to start using e-liquid and move away from the whole cartomizer deal. And know that I really like the idea of using clearomizers. But I have done so much research and looked for help/recommendations in so many places, and it's still so damn confusing.

I know that this is pretty subjective. My biggest issue is what type of Ego, if any, would be best? When it gets into ProVari and Ego Twists my head kinda spins on my neck. At the end of the day I don't want to waste something like $80-100 bucks on a kit that won't get any use. So if anyone at all could give me some input I would really, really appreciate it.

Thanks guys. Take it easy and vape on.

Welcome to ecf. And you are NOT that girl....heck, if you don't ask questions then how will you know what to do?

Is there an ecig shop in your area? Where did you get the one you have been vaping on?
If no shop, then look at the top of this page where it says forum suppliers and click on it. All of those vendors have been used by some members here so we know they are good vendors(mostly).
Look at madvape.com or discountvapers.com or one that catches your eye and click on their links. On their websites it is pretty easy to find eGo kits. Take a look, tell us what you think, and we go from there.

Here is a link to discountvapers. the joyetech is the original eGo. Let us know if we can help further....
eGo Batteries

ps here is a kit for under 40.00

I tend to be a lighter draw and have both 2 KR808's and a clone Ego-Twist. I also started with cartos, feeling a little intimated with the juice and and fills since everything was so new. At that time, my 808 was my go-to device. Now after crossing the juice and fill bridge, I've really like using my Ego-T with some 808 clearomizers ( see adapter mentioned below ) and one 501 clearmoizer.
I haven't used the other Egos but I do find myself using a different voltage for different flavors - some flavors just seem to taste and vape better at different settings - so I am very glad I stumbled into buying a Ego-T when I had no idea what to buy.

I didn't buy it in a kit. Just purchased it, a charger, and a 501 to 808 adapter so I could use the 808 cartos I had. I also like the look of thin 808 clearomizers so the adapter works for that too. An adapter is a buck and change and makes my Ego-Twist very versatile.
I have added a 501 1.4ml clearomizer to my gear and the combination and versatility, ( with the adapter I can use basically anything on it ) of what I have really works for me. I very happy with it.

Well I was like you but from all the research and reading I came to the conclusion everyone likes a different set up for different reasons and none are right or wrong. I know not what you wanted to hear, lol. Can you go to a shop and try different models by any chance?? I ordered blind and got the Vision Spinner 1300 for the battery life and variable voltage. Then I added protanks and mini protanks because I discovered I don't like cartridges and prefer the vape I get from a glass tank and less chance of juice in my mouth. I am not at all regretting my decision to spend a bit extra and get something nice so if you can't test them like me research and think about what options are important to you.

Im new...like really new...like 2 hours new :p But i will try to help.

Just got my ego ce4 starter kit today. It was relatively cheap to get into and i like it so far. It only my first day of use but no leaks or dry hits.

The cool thing is that the ego batteries i got with it is that they are 510 threaded so i can buy other tanks that fit the same thread, like the kanger protank 2 i just ordered. I did a TON of research before i pulled the trigger on my setup (mostly because im broke lol).

I would go to a local store and try them out. Ask lots of questions. If they have a decent price then buy it there. If not then buy the exact same model online. You are practically buying blind if this is your first time buying it online. We can tell you what we like but you never know what you would like. Also a good local shop should show you how to fill and take care of your device.

Hey Jenboben,
I tell you ive been in the EXACT position as you were 2 years ago when i just quit analogs and I understand. Tried the small cig a like small ecigs and eventually stooped back to analogs, drugs and alcohol. Threw in the towel BIG time then until my husband picked us back up! Im hoping you will find the strength here on ECF or from loved ones to stay away from those damn cowboy killers!

I spent 1.5 years finding the right e cig for me and i know how frustrating it can be. i hope we can help you shorten that length for finding that perfect system for you. I strongly recommend any eGo batteries. I have just the 1000mAh passthrough (can plug the cable in for charging while vaping). Also have the Innokin MVP (big huge square battery that you may not like due to cumbersome feel) that give a much stronger longer burn on atomisers and can also serve as a charger for your phones, ipads, etc.

Tank systems i strongly recommend are the Vivi Novas (which come in regular or mini size) or the Innokin iclear 16. Best flavours ive tasted in both after trying MANY tank systems.

In summary: recommend Vivi Nova tanks, Innokin iclear 16, any eGo battery, Innokin MVP battery. Kits i have recommended cost $30 to $50

E liquid if you are wondering: I recommend Johnson's Creek brand or Tasty Vapors in Oakland, CA (tasty vapor doesnt use diethyl chemicals or preservatives and are hand mixed on the spot, US made liquid with FDA approved nicotine, PV and VG that tastes great esp if you have a fancy for pastry flavours)

If money is not an issue and you want something to last and perform well, buy a Provari Mini which you can adjust your voltage and more and a couple of 18350 batts and charger all from Provape, then a couple original Protanks and xtra coils from discount vapers they are bottom feed and this setup is my everyday setup and has been working great! Easy to use and tanks are easy to fill and changing coils is a brezze. You will not be dissapointed in this setup and will last you a long time. A little expensive but so worth it. Ive been happing vaping since. :toast:

I agree with the above, just get it over with!! BUT, if you cannot afford the Provari then settle for the Evic. You're still getting the ability to make adjustments to your watts or volts and it seems, just to me, that an Ego of any type is still going to be a "tweener", you'll end up going higher end anyway. I started with my Evic a couple of months ago and the only thing I have my eye on is the Provari, but it's just because it IS the Provari, no other reason.

As far as tanks, I prefer the top fillers. I own a few bottom ones but I still like the Vision Viva Nova. If you haven't been over to YouTube, you should go. Anything that you think you might want to purchase has been reviewed over there. PBusardo is my favorite reviewer, check him out!! Good Luck and Vape On....:vapor:

Welcome! For me, the one that worked for me was when I actually went to a knowledgeable B&M store where they walked me through what was available and then proceeded to show me how to work the kit I purchased. They even filled my first tank for me to show me how and let me try it out there in the store. That was a great help.

Great device for a beginner: would be a EVOD. They're easy to fill, reliable and very easy to replace the heads and rebuild them if/when you are ready. Such similer devices but different looks are as follows : EVOD, MT3S, MT4, T3, T32, T3s, T4, X6S , REM, V2, V2-DT6 ,V2-DT8 , BCC , Mini BCC, KWX6 , X9 Protank, Protank 2, Protankmini, KWX5, PURITANK, Davide Mini Glassomizer etc. Pick up any of the listed devices and a few replacement heads (heating coils) for easy consistent vap.
All of these are BCC,

Sample set : fasttech.com/products/0/10004766/1368502-ego-evod-6-in-1-rechargeable-900mah-electronic
EVOD Electronic Cigarettes Round Mouth Atomizer: fasttech.com/products/0/10004691/1363501-evod-electronic-cigarettes-round-mouth-atomizer-15
EVOD Electronic Cigarettes Atomizer Heating Core (5-Pack) : fasttech.com/product/1387600

Get some ejuice from MT.Baker.

Above totals under 30 bucks and you will be sailing smooth.

I started out that way and its still my go to/out and about. At home I use VAMO with protank.

Good luck with your search.

We all been down that road before so we know how you feel. I would suggest go to a local store and try different kit or mod out and see which one you like. See and testing out a kit is much better than reading about it. Make sure you ask a lot of question. And if the sale person didn't answer your question then go ask another sale person or go to another local store.
I hope this help and vape strong :vapor:

ego twiste and a kanger evod is a nice little set up and should do you good. you can rebuild the heads of the kanger very very easy as well which is a plus. Takes trial and error to find what you like. I started with a 650mah 3.7v ego with a normal clearo, then got a ego twiste with a carto tank, then went to protanks, tried some of my friends PV's like the tesla and zmax then tried mechs with drippers. after all that im sticking to teh mech mods with a dripper because for me its the best set up.

The best advice I can give is not much different than the others above.
But I can think of a couple of things that helped me make this choice a little while back.

How much do you vape?
This one for me was huge...
See if you vape enough then that is the only reason I would not prefer to have a spinner ego type battery alone. If you go with a device like a... provari,,,evic,,,or one of the max's and so on. At least you have the option of just changing out that battery while on the go in lue of needing to find a place to charge up. That all comes down to how much you vape of course. Again for me this became the main reason I changed! I did also want some of the features from a more advanced set up. But the battery became the main reason I stated lookin hard.

Size of the device.
Do you even care about this? Some do and some do not. I know when I was starting I did... but found out really quick (via the first question above in this post) that I no longer cared and just was tired of finding my self in a bad place when I ran out of battery and then was like  What now.... LOL... That lead me to a device like a zmax that allowed me to have a few charged batteries to carry and never have a problem with that for literally days.

What kind of connection on the top
I do not know how long you have been learking and looking. Watching enough vids and so on you might very well know that you want a device that will only require a 510 connection. I think newer vapors getting into the "better" (I actually hate saying it that way) type devices should get a set up that allows for ego threading and 510 atomizers/attys... Just my opinion there, and that is based off my personnel experience.

These are just a few things that I share with all newer folks. I will say that you can get a darn good vape from a twist battery and an evod. Time will tell if that is were YOU are going to be happy and or if you need to make the next move.
For me, the battery thing alone, combined with the fact of a few more features, like reading my battery voltage, ohms, power levels I would favor a device like a zmax, vamo and so on. That is my .02 and I really hope that it will be of some help.

Keep in mind there is some very good pricing on starter kits like mentioned above that will get you into a great vape with a low investment to get you on your way to an ahhha moment that you might very well have been looking or. When that happens (like it did for me) you will say oh now that is what I am talking about!!!!

I will shut up after this.... Like others said find a good local shop and try out a few things there. Most that I have been to will be more than happy to have you and lay out the red carpet to boot.

LOL... Ok I am done now, I have proofed this I dont even know how many times now and I feel like I am just trying kick a dead hog now:blush:

None the less good luck and happy vaping, don't give up! :2cool:

From a 2.5 year veteran vaper, the smartest thing I did in the whole process, it bypass the typical starter units.
I went mod from the beginning with a Pro Vape 1, then progressed to the Pro Vari....never have suffered any set backs
and never needed any more power, never needed any more battery, etc. etc......
Go ahead and take the plunge, if you are serious. You won't regret it.

Well, you could just skip over the eGo thing, and the carto thing, and the Protank thing altogether and get a mech and an RBA. You might end up there anyway, I did, and I wish I'd not spent all that money on all that other stuff before getting there.... and nothing vapes like a well set up RBA.

Just sayin....

Newbie here too... However have been "tinkering" for about a year. So far the best advice is... Blu's, Greensmoke and Njoy are ok starters. If you like them, chances are that you will be further fulfilled when you do decide on your upgrade. Having said that, I agree that B&M's are the way to go TO START. Don't walk in, ask the first guy/girl that walks up to you or that you have to ask and then buy what they tell you to. While you may get lucky and get a very knowledgeable person, you may also get someone just wanting to move product. Look around, ask specific questions about certain items and compare them to what you can find out on your own and what that info compares to from another source.

As for the upgrades... Again, don't rush it. You may well be served by a mid-grade Vision Spinner or Ego battery for the remainder of your vaping experience (as I have so far... Vision Spinner starter kit from MyVaporStore.com) . Then again, after some time, you may just simply Want to upgrade. That is the great thing about the market currently. For every person, there are almost limitless options. Educate yourself with the almost limitless resources and then try one, if it works then keep going.
