Arghhhh!!! I find one who has the twists, but then they are out of stock on something else. I'm gonna have to call someone tomorrow and talk to them since if I bought the Twist (2=$50), I would also need a usb and wall charger ($15), vision vivi tank ($12.99), plus don't I need the cone thingy. Do I need more than one vision vivi tank? Yikes, it really adds up! Smoking was less $$$.

OK. First off....unless you were a very light smoker it is definitely not more money. Second, at least vaping won't kill you like cigarettes will. You don't have to get the Vivi tank btw..the T2 Kanger is cheaper and comes with 5 repacable atty w/ wicks. (see guys I'm learning) Third, you should be able to get a kit pretty cheaply with 2 batteries and then get the tanks later if necessary. Fourth...vaping won't kill you :)

1) Someone posted ohms don't matter with the Twist. They sort of do matter if you like your juice a certain temperature. I hate 2.8ohm heads cause the higher volt juice is hotter/warmer. So it changes vape temperature.

2) You smoke 1.5 POD -- smokes average like $7 pack in AZ? That's $70/week. The Twist/nova system is a great end user system. Most of us burned hundreds and hundreds in bats and clearos coming to a final solution.

3) In your first post, you don't seem real excited about vaping... It's not worth your money if it's not something you want to do. You can also get just Egos and a charger, the Vivi nova and some low ohm replacement heads:

Egos +/- 13$ a bat
Charger $10
Vivi 13$
1.8ohm (for ego) heads $3 each

You're also asking for it all: something that vapes good, dependible, relyable. The normal route is batteries and cartomizers for great dependibility. This is a cheap route. Then people migrate into tank or vivis or clearomizers. So the twist/vivi solution is more expensive but it handles what you want. The Ego/cartomizers is the cheapest and most reliable method if you fill them, but not the most cost effective in the long run.

So:
Ego batteries/charger/cartomizers to fill with juice=cheap and relyable but throw out cartos a lot and less taste/hassle with filling
EGo Twist=better battery where you change the volts to make your juice better and make different juice carriers work better=more expensive battery
Nova= a small tank that if you adjust the voltage will work well with your juice, if you clean the heads or replace them is dirt cheap to use (I'm on day 12 of 1 head so $0)=expensive but low replacement cost, also doesn't leak.

Someone posted that changing the resistance (ohms) changes the voltage. This is false. The voltage is a constant, changing the resistance changes the current. More current equals more heat. This all goes off of Ohm's Law, a basic electric formula where V = I x R. Now typically a 3.7V battery will hold more voltage than 3.7V. As the battery is used the Voltage will slowly drop down to 3.7V and lower. An easy way to see this is a cell phone that displays Voltage. It is what drops as the battery level drops. I have this on my Razr Maxx.

Example:
3.7V with 2.0 ohm tip= 1.85 Amps.
3.7V with 1.5 ohm tip= 2.47 Amps.

One way people change the voltage is stacking batteries in series. Two 3.7V batteries in series = 7.4V. Another way is to use what is essentially a transformer (and these can be variable to adjust Voltage).

Not trying to be an ..., just thought this would be helpful info for people not familiar with how electric works!

I really can't and don't want to get into the resistance/ohms/amps/etc. I just want to buy something that works well, that I don't have to fool around with and fill every 4 hits, that I can get replacement parts for at a reasonable cost.

Can't get a TWIST KIT anywhere until MONDAY (electroniccigarettesofhouston has several kits ). If I bought the SLB KGO SLB KGO Starter Kit for $43.99, could I replace with the twist battery later on or the Vivi 3 cartomizer? This site also offers options for a few bucks extra . . . cones (do I need extras?), Ego Mega Clear Dual Coil Cartomizer Flat TIp (+$2.80) , Boge and Smoketech cartomizers (+$4) - What Ohm should I get and how many? I don't know the volts of the battery only it 1100mah. Any thing else I need besides juice?

None of these places answer the phone - someone could make a killing with a good website and availablity of items!

I suggested the Vivi -- won't hurt my feelings if you don't get one :) -- over the Kanger for durability. The Kanger reviews are about harsh chemical taste or small leaks. You could bouce the Vivi off of a bus, catch it and have a leak-free vape. The only problem with the Vivi/mini is juice muting depending on your juice and some wicking relating to this. But it's a durable, leak-free solution. The kanger that people posted they "fell out of love with" cause of leaks and dry hits is cheaper but needs to be replaced more often. They are about the best of the clearos per reviews, but it's still the clearo market. A week old Vivi isn't going to stain your shirt pocket in that business meeting as it pees on you...

(It's the new members forum--I mentioned super cool collars for others that read here).

I rolled my own cigs, so it probably only cost me $20/week max.

So to clarify Ralikar's comment (good info!) - I don't need a housing (cones), just a battery (510 threads), a few cartomizers (and/or atomizer and cartridges and tip), chargers, and juice - right?

I think I need to order today. I am leaning towards the SLB Kgo from darkcityvapor.com - seems like a decent deal with decent reviews?
Here's what I'm planning on ordering:

Ego Mega Clear Dual Coil Cartomizer Flat Tip EGOMEGACLRFLAT 1 $2.80
2.5 DCT Clear Tank EGODCT2.5 1 $12.99
SLB KGO Starter Kit (2x 1100mAh Batteries, 5x Empty Cartomizers, 2x Matching Cones, 1x USB Charger, 1X Drip Tip, 1x USB Wall Adapter $43.99
Sample Pack Mix: 30PG/70VG, Nicotine Strength: 22 MG 1 $6.25
Sub-Total: $66.03
Free Shipping: $0.00
Total: $66.03

Can I use the charger with a Twist battery should I upgrade? Can I use a Vivi cartomizer on this model should I want to add that?

I just spoke with Bill at Dark City and he was very nice and helpful. I think I'm going to order the KGO with the stuff, above, plus a package of Boge cartomizers (LR) to try for $4.00. Total order would be $72.83. He answered my questions that the charger, battery and cartomizers can be used with the other stuff you all recommended. I can't look at any more!

Okey-dokey, received my SLB KGO along with some cartomizers (no atomizer) and juice a couple hours ago. Questions:

Is it typical to not get any instructions with cartomizers? How do I fill the 510's (?) that came with my SLB KGO? The cartos I was using from NLA had you drip juice in the hole at the bottom of the carto. How many drops do you put in to start with? How do you know when they are full? Same with the Boge LR's I bought.

I also have the cartomizers that came with the NLA's and tried them on the KGO. They didn't taste good (hot or burnt taste). Is this why everyone recommended the eGo twist? Is this one putting out too much power.

I did start using the Ego Mega Clear Dual Coil Flat Tip and after sitting through a couple god-awful youtube videos got it filled. Didn't like it at first and found you have to let it sit a few minutes and can't take one hit right after another. Seems like it takes some time for the liquid to saturate the filler material. So far working pretty good. I have the expensive Smoktech 2.5 DCT Clear tank to try if I can figure out how to fill it. Apparently, no manufacturer instructions anywhere.

I posted this separately too, but does anyone know where I can get a flavor equivalent to NLA's tobacco?

Not liking the new tobacco juices at all! Unusable. I'm not sure why and tried mixing a couple of them but I'm just not liking them. Not sure if they are just too strong or what. Had to go blow another $10 on 5 mls of NLA. Is there any way to get it out of the 510 cartomizers? This will be the next big hurdle because no way I'm going to continue buying the NLA. I do have quite a few samples coming from ECBlends (good website compared to others). I'm anxious to try a coffee flavor.

I'm also hoping to resolve the throat irritation. I am constantly clearing my throat. Gargling with salt water helped, but who wants to always do that. Will this go away? I already drink lots of water.

Pleased with Dark City as he shipped this priority mail (I didn't choose this option) and he shipped right away. Not thrilled with the liquid, but that's just my taste. Could have used instructions. Instructions with the KGO were pretty bad - obviously written in China. Talks about an atomizer that didn't come with the kit. The rest are difficult to understand, are incomplete, and at times doesn't make sense.

Thanks for the videos. These are better than the ones I've viewed. Hate to ask another question, but why the "condom" method? Why not just drip the liquid in from the top and let it rest a while?

I did take apart a cartomizer (I just had to see what was inside). It was one that had one flavor I really hated. I don't think the "spin" would even get it all out.

I'm really enjoying my KGO and the Ego Mega Clear Dual Coil Flat Tip! Sure beats adding liquid to the cartridge every 4th puff. It also tastes a bit cleaner.

You can just drip.... BUT, it takes a while to get to the bottom of the carto. With the condom method, you push down slowly... battery connection side first, and it forces the liquid in from the bottom up.

If the spin method doesn't work.... you can put the battery connection side into a turkey baster, then suck warm water in, push it out, repeat until flushed. Trick is finding a baster that fits well.

Tobacco flavors... to me... SUCK. I never found one I liked. Some people do, some don't, but the truth is, nothing is going to taste like a burning cigarette. More like what eating tobacco leaves would taste like. I then ventured out and tried Vanilla, Cappuccino, all sorts of bakery stuff, sweet teas, root beer, etc. I use Kick Bass Vapor, haven't had a bad juice yet. Some I like more than others but it's all good. I'm currently vaping candy bar. LOL I have heard good things about epipemods.com tobacco juices, but I have personally given up on the tobacco flavors.

Congestion and irritation should level off took me a few weeks... you just came off cigs, so some of that can be caused by your body getting rid of smoking crud. Drink LOTS of water to keep things looser... take a decongestant if you need to.

Can't help with the DCT tank, I don't use those :(

a blunt syringe can help remove carto juice - you tube has some good videos on cleaning carts (they do take a while to dry though and you may get lingering flavor after next re-fill)

having to clear your throat all the time will start to fade as your body adjusts to life after stink sticks, liquids help

new juice can be nasty sometimes - I've had a few that made me gag lol - "steeping" your juice was something I only learned about a month or so into vaping - (and it makes a world of difference) - when I get a new juice order I shake them all for a few mins, put the bottles in a tray/bowl with enough HOT water (not boiling) that they almost start to float and let them sit for about ten to fifteen mins and then do it again, then i put them in my vape box for a week shaking them at least once a day - and voila! much better tasting juice! -(YMMV) :p
some juices may take longer to taste better and some my never agree with your taste buds (if you do a search for steeping there are many more suggestions but this is what works for me)

You might want to go the MOD route as an upgrade.
REO bottom feeders are excellent! Fill the 3 ml bottle, insert battery and your're good to go all day! No topping off, no cart filling, syringes to carry etc. Grab & go. Great flavor with juices as the juice is pumped directly to the atty. Same effect as dripping.Look at website REOSMODS.com.
I have gone from the little 510 joy, to the ego, to a GLV mini, now the REO mini. Now all my others sit in a drawer!! :)

Now I need an atty and cartridges so I can try new juices I have coming. After reading some reviews, I contacted one company for their Joye 306 LR 1.5 Ohm (low resistance) atomizer and they said I need a 510. The 510's all look like the long type attys. I thought 510 referred to the threads on the unit, but perusing the web it looks like a 510 also refers to a pencil style e-cig. Very confusing.

The e-cig I had borrowed had the long atty with a drip tip with stuffing in it. I thought a short one where you can touch the wick would be better to rinse icky juice off of, but can I get a cartridge (drip tip with stuffing) that fits that kind? I could get a higher ohm one, because my Ego Mega Clear Dual Coil Cartomizer Flat Tip (1.6 ohm) puts out plenty of vapor.

OMG-I can't believe how wonderful these are!!! I just got flavors from ECBlends and they are AAAAAAWESOME! I get it now! Oh my dear, now what to do so I can try all the flavors. I need 100's of cartos and it's fun mixing the flavors together. INCREDIBLE! Maybe this isn't just a quit smoking aid but also a dieting device! Even their tobaccos, which need to steep, are really good. Guess I just didn't like my first 3 tobaccos. So much for saving money not smoking, though with bacon flavors and such out there - I can maybe quit eating, too!
Wooooooo-Hoooooooo!!!
