Alright, enough stalking. I got some questions!

I've been hanging around here for a week or so, silently, trying to learn as much as I can about the Reo b4 I take the plunge. Honestly it'll be a good while b4 I can purchase one, but I definately see myself adding (at least) one to my very humble mod collection (see sig below). I really love the dependability of a fully mechanical device, add that to the simplicity of a bottomfed dripping rba (die-hard dripper!) and I was sold. There's just a couple things I couldn't find on my own:

1. The catchcup on the mini 2.1, how big is it compared to the Grande? I read the stickie on Reo compatible rba's, but the mini 2.1 is not in the chart. It's supposed to be larger than the 2.0, I was just wondering if I went with a 2.1 what rba's would work with it.

2. Kickability: I know many prefer a SLR coil on mechs, but not me. I like regulation, so I use a kick. I know the metal Reos can be kicked, I just point the ground spring of the kick towards the back of the body and the door keeps it pushed in, making contact? I wouldn't have to tie a wire around the kick spring and run it to the mod spring?

Edit: I just saw the thread on the "Kick-stand", so I'm assuming kicking it has it's issues, but I'm a carpenter and can fashion something like that out of plexiglass or something non-conductive.

3. Finish: Does the finish wear off over time? I was looking at the new silver base pc (very nice!) or black wrinkle w/ copper vein (amongst several others), but I may just go with a raw aluminum tumbled if available since that would probably look the same forever. I only have SS mods, mainly so I wouldn't have to worry about their looks changing in years to come.

4. Warranty? I have heard it boasted the metal Reos come with a lifetime warranty, just curious what that includes. It's a mech, so not that much worry of ever having to use it, but I do love lifetime warranties (that's why my mech tube mod is a Super-T).

Thank you in advance for taking time to answer and I look forward to joining the "family", although like I said it may take me a while. But for now, just know that I'm lurking in the shadows with envy!

1. Catch cup is the same between mini 2.1 and Grand. I believe. Don't have a mini :)

2. I would suggest either a strip of copper that runs along the side of the reo and tucks under the negative spring, or the same strip cut from a beer can. It'll stay in place better through battery changes. Also, at that point, I'd suggest Grand. Mini with a kick will only fit 18350, and that's just small.

3. I've seen some very weathered Reos in classies. Some say it adds character and I agree. Mine is only 3 months old, and doesn't have a single scratch, since I made a leather sleeve for it. More for the comfort of holding than for protection. Protecting one of the most durable mods in existence seems silly to me. But that's just my opinion.

4. No idea on the warranty, sorry.

The silver anodized or the tumbled clearcoat would be the best at not showing scratches or nicks.

Robert posted this about the drip well in the Mini 2.1:
The juice well in the mini 2.1 is larger then the grand and the vv grands well . Its the first mod I have made with rbas in mind

Robert posted this about warranty:
mechanical Metal mods have a one year warranty not that it matters they will last a life time imo . Wood mods I warranty for 6 months .It doesn't matter weather the mod has switched hands I will stand behind the mod . I would be willing to bet you could trade that mod for a brand new vv grand if I remember correctly you have a ebony vv woodvil

The electronics meaning the vv chip has a 3 month warranty after that I will have to charge people for a replacement
