My kick has arrived and I am finished with the stand. OMG the vape on my reo is now perfect! I have it set at 9 watts, I was expecting to have to go to 10, but right now it's perfect! I plugged in my voltmeter and it is putting out 5v. PERFECT with a 2.5 ohm HH 357! Pics later I gotta vape this thing like I stole it!
Glad your cartos are working for you!

Here are some pics. I just cut two pieces of plastic sheet to fit the kick and the reo, hot glued them together and trimmed the glue that squeezed out with a knife. Worked real well and only took about a half hour.
I will probably need a couple more 18490s and a bottle buddy to tote spare batts because I am only getting about 5 hours out of them but the vape is stupendous! This kick has turned my grand in to a whole different animal! And I LIKE IT!

So I don't think my kick is variable wattage. It's wierd. If I put on a 2.5 ohm atty and dial it to nine its all good, 5v. Then if I put on a 1.5 ohm atty at the same setting (9 "watts") it gives me the pulsation signaling an over amperage. I have to turn it down to 6"watts" to be able to vape. I plug on my voltmeter and it reads 3.89v, which is a bit burny for a 1.5 ohm atty. At 6 watts with 1.5 ohms resistance the kick should be putting out 3v, but it's putting out 3.9.

my understanding of it is that its self adjusting so the lower the ohms the lower the wattage and voltage

Yeah, it should. I think my kick is acting as variable voltage. I have to pop it out and change voltages when switching atties. I run my kick at 9.5 "watts" at 2.5 ohms, and it is putting out 5.3-5.4 volts. It should be putting out 4.87 volts for 9.5 watts. Something is wrong with it... but at least I still have variable voltage. It makes it so I can vape at up to 12 watts with a 2.5 ohm atty. I am not really complaining, it just isn't working as evolv designed it. Don't get me wrong, the vape is awesome! only thing is my kick is shutting down when my batts get to be 3.8 volts, which cuts down on battery life.

Thats strange Sammy. My Kick stops firing about 3.4-3.5 volts to let me know that battery is down and to replace it. Make sure your Kick is well grounded. IF its not grounded well its behavior can go south by sputtering intermittenly or not all. I Noalox the positve and bottom contacts and the wall of the Reo where it makes contact.

Yeah, I actually quite like it, as I am
Able to vape up to 12 watts :D. If it breaks it's under warranty so as far as I am concerned, SWEET! As far as an intermittent ground, with the preparations I have taken there is absolutely no way. My kick stand keeps it rock solid, and the firing pin and kick grounding point are noaloxed. As long as I get two more batts and a 6 bay charger I'm golden. I don't mind switching batts 3 times a day for this kind of vape. 4 batts gets me through 6ml of juice. I think if I dialed down the voltage it would more than likely give me a much longer run time, but that is speculation. I will try running a 2.0 ohm coil once I get a rebuildable atty, or I may just make one out of spare parts. Thanks for the help guys!

So having read through all 38 pages, may I ask what kind of lifespan people are getting from the kick in grand? I have heard of a lot of failures overall but reading between the lines I suspect that it is happening mostly to people who are pulling it out and adjusting it a lot whereas the set it and forget users are not having as many failures. Any truth to this?

Also saw it asked but not answered as to battery life using 18490 vs 18500. Any comparisons there?

I have two and they both still work fine. I don't fiddle with the potentiometers much nor do I use them all day every day. Using 18 gauge speaker wire from the Kick's ground to the ground spring of my Reos, I don't have to worry about faulty ground connections. I also use them with standard resistance atomizers rather than low resistance atomizers. I can get a little more than 2mLs vaped before the battery requires recharging. I use the purple IMR 18500's from Nhaler.
