The cheapest advice I have for you is to stick with the 510 and get two more batteries, a PCC and a USB passthrough. That stuff isn't very expensive but it'll make your experience with the 510/Titan MUCH better. There's no doubt that the worst part of the 510 is its pathetic battery life, but with a PCC the battery life doesn't matter. Just swap for a fresh one whenever the one you're using runs dry. I have three batteries in constant rotation, and I think that's a pretty optimal setup. I'm never in a situation where I don't have a fully charged one on deck. Three isn't that many to keep track of, so it's a reasonably efficient work around for the short battery life. Plus, a passthrough will free you from messing with batteries for at least some percentage of your day. I use a passthrough at my desk and batteries when I'm driving around town. If I had a cigarette lighter passthrough (ironic!) I'd save even more battery life.

So, to echo what everyone else has said, because you've made the basic investment already, I'd strongly advise sticking with it a little longer. Spend a few dollars more to get your 510 setup rounded out and I think you'll be very happy with the results.

Two batteries for two people? :p Forgive me, but that sounds crazy! 8-o

If you really like the 510 and it's simply a battery issue, get some more batteries. You'll likely find that another two batteries in the rotation, and you'll be good to go. Or you can spring for a USB passthrough battery. I use mine while at the computer . . . and, more recently, I've been using it with a Kensington portable battery back.

In fact, I've been using my 510 for the last 5 hours, and I've still got plenty of power left on the Kensington.

Yeah, there's more fussing with e-cigs, but I think one's willingness to put up with it is more or less in direct proportion to how badly one wants to give up cigarettes.

I think most all of us started out with buying the Chinese "Toys". I've been there, done it also. Get yourself a modded ecig. I have two Screw Drivers, and can honestly say "they are all I will need...EVER"!
Take a look, and do your own evaluation on what you would want in a modded ecig. They are a pricey investment, but you will save dollars in the long run. Also, the modded ecigs retain their value pretty good. If you don't like it, you would recoup most of your investment if you were to re-sell it.

I just want something that works perfectly without the fuss

It doesn't exist yet. E-cigs are relatively new, and the durability of atomisers and cig-style batteries hasn't improved much from the first models -- which were designed for occasional smoking, not as a cigarette replacement. The newer, more expensive models are a major improvement in battery life, but none of them are perfect.

If you only have 2 atomisers and 2 batteries to share between you and your GF, you're woefully understocked. Buy at least 2 more of each (preferably 4), and, as others have suggested, a passthrough for each of you and if you can afford it, PCC cases.

Two people can't expect to not get frustrated with only one atomiser and battery apiece, for Pete's sake.

If getting a couple of extra 510 batteries is too difficult for you, then you are probably right. You are not going to make it.. and nothing any of us can say or do will change that. You know what your options are and only you can decide what's best. I am sorry it didn't work out for you and hope you all the best.

Agreed! If only those were the only frustrations I've had.

As others have said, USB passthroughs are great. However, cheap versions of passthroughs are not good. I have owned 3 since March and the third one is on its way out already. I recently purchased a 4th from PureSmoker. Although I haven't received it yet, I can see it is higher quality and built to last. It also has a warranty which definitely helps. Anyway, make sure you purchase a quality passthrough. I also have an adapter for the car, so the only time I use my batteries is when I am not at home or in the car. This has helped with battery life immensely. As someone said above, if you want to avoid expensive manufactured mods such as GG, Prodigy, or SD, then get a passthrough and at least one more battery. Even with a quality PT it would run you less then $50 but would enhance your vaping pleasure immeasurably.

Uh, quick note. I'm not like really "new" to e-cigs just so you all know. I do treat it like a hobby, you should see me cleaning them. It's like I'm building a fully functional mini-rocket ship or something.

That's the thing though.. I'm tired of having to "make it work". I want something that doesn't take so much magyvering. (not a real word)

Hi, ScvJerk,

Well, you can look around and order 510 parts from several providers. Maybe you'll find them cheap somewhere.

I've recently been a Prodigy convert, but before that I was a parts collector. I have an irrational fear of my 801 breaking.

I currently have six working batteries and eleven working atomizers for it. I don't think that the 801 is great shakes in the battery department, either. I changed them frequently during the day - maybe getting an hour-and-a-half out of them.

I've collected this stuff over a period of about three months - atomizers from here, batteries from there. Some of them were remarkably cheap, and I'm watching to see if they fail prematurely. So far, none of them have! (Except a cheap USB passthrough that didn't make it through a week.)

So although I can't suggest the *minimum* hardware you should stock up on, I can tell you what I've done to support MY new hobby. :D

Good luck with it, whatever you decide.

I have a quick newb question:

How long does it take to recharge the batt on a 510? How long do I leave it on the supplied wall charger for it to be fully recharged?
I have a Joye510 and so far my batteries only take about 1 hour to recharge. I'm very happy with it. I totaly agree with everyone one on the battery, atty issue. You definitley need a couple more bats and atty's!:)
