Alright, new to e-cigs, bought Blu, I have a few questions (especially if you've tried Blu)

That's funny confusing elitism with the physical performance of one device vs other devices. A Yugo or a Russian Lada car will get you from one point to the other point -SOMETIMES - whereas a BMW or Volvo will get you there time after time after time and in great comfort unlike the Yugo. It's not elitism to call a Yugo a POS and a BMW a premiere car any more than it is to call a BLU a POS and a Prodigy a premiere PV. It is using intelligence combined with experience to make an informed observation.

But those that are so concerned with appearance that they would rather pretend to be vaping by using a Blu instead of really vaping by using a Prodigy or Janty Stick are quite confused. Just too funny (in a sad kind-of way).

No one's confusing anything. Performance has nothing to do with it in this instance. Define it how you will, but it is elitist to answer someone who asking for advice on their Blu or similar devices with nothing more constructive than "Your Blu is a POS. My crap will always be better."

And if I take a drag off my Blu and it produces a bit of a throat hit and some vapor, how is that "pretending" to be vaping? By definition that is vaping. If I choose to carry my Blu in some circumstances, that makes me a poseur vaper? I guess by the same token those who smoke light generic cigarettes are poseur smokers? And by your own example, those who drive economy cars are poseur drivers?

Your comments remind me of all the bigots I've met in my life, who think their viewpoint is the only one with any credibility, who seek to demean or insult those who don't share their opinion, who look for an argument where there really shouldn't be one. It generally stems from a deep-seeded insecurity. Tell me, wv2win, who hurt you? Who made you cry? Tell me, and I'll drive to Georgia and beat her up for you, so you can sleep well at night again.

:p

Neither here nor there
All I can say is...I have many PVs and have seen no reason to ditch the Blu permanently for one of the hotrods. Read my sig line for a list of models I own. Sometimes I want a big vape, sometimes I don't. The Blu is very hassle-free compared to some of these, and the carts are tasty. Replacement parts are reasonable. Sure, there are shipping delays, but we all know that going in so it is no surprise. I'm tired of the Blu bashing, too. I can't get my 401 to perform to my liking, yet it is many people's favorite PV. So be it, let them have their happy vape. It feels like sucking cement through a straw to me, but there's no reason to insult people who like their 401, is there?

It's always baffling to see how a poster like misterME gets all defensive and emotional about how poorly their PV operates. But I see there is much to be learned from someone's screen name: misterME.

As happly pointed out so well, the overwhelming quantity of Blu owners who come on here and tell everyone how poorly the Blu performs compared to the overwhelming positive posts from 510, Prodigy, SD owners, tells the story much better than I can.

What's really ironic here is that I haven't complained about how poorly my Blu operates. I don't think it operates poorly. If I did, I wouldn't be so annoyed with how much bad press it gets on these forums (except concerning the shipping times; those gripes are perfectly legitimate). In operation, it has actually exceeded my expectations.

My 510, on the other hand, has been a constant struggle. And I have posted my concerns and disappointments with it several times on these forums. It alternates between being the best thing since sliced bread, and being a useless cash sink (depending on the day and hour). But most of that is user error or plain stupidity on my part, because the learning curve is so much steeper with one of the "legitimate" vaping devices.

The Blu, on the other hand, if fairly straight forward. You unpack it. Then you read the English instructions (which were actually written by someone who speaks English, so they're intelligible) and do what it says. And, unless the euipment is defective, it operates as advertised.

Further, it's not fair to say that the majority of Blu owners come on here complaining. The vast majority of Blu owners never happen upon this site, and are sitting at home happily enjoying their Blu despite your prejudice.

The people who come on here complaining about their Blu are either handling defective equipment, too stupid to follow the directions, or made a bad purchase and got a lower-capacity device than what would serve their needs. It's that last category you should be concerned with, because you do have a wealth of knowledge about high-capacity devices, and that knowledge would really benefit them.

All I'm pointing out is that it's counterproductive to constantly bash the Blu at every turn. It serves its purpose for some individuals. Why can't you just let that be?

I've had my blu for a week and it is my first e cig. I like it's size and portability and like everyone else, the case that charges as well as holds extra carts.

You do have to give it a rest between puffs and the vapor I've seen from videos of other e-cigs is weak in comparison. That's not necessarily a bad thing... At work and in the car you don't want a huge cloud of vapor surrounding you and making others wonder if you've just spontaneously combusted.

It's perfect for when I just need a quick nicotine fix to keep me from going outside and having an analog. If I put my finger over the blue tip no one notices anything.

I may order a 510 for home use in a couple of weeks if I feel the need for it. From what I can see in videos it is not discreet enough to take in public and would be a spectacle. I live in Los Angeles and the majority of people are non-smokers so I try to keep my habits to myself. At home is different, my neighbors are heavy smokers so a 510 would fit in while hanging out with them on the patio.

All in all I don't think the blu is a good for a heavy smoker who is used to smoking more than a pack a day. I was a pack a day gal myself and have learned to adjust to the blu by taking a minute break between draws to keep it consistent. I did go back to a pack of analogs yesterday when I was working on no sleep due to inconsiderate party animals in the neighborhood. Today I'm back on the blu.

I'm glad your Blu works for your public purposes. I agree, and that's where mine gets most of its use.

The 510 is a great choice for home use, once you get it figured out (I'm almost there). One of the great things about it is how easy it is to top off the carts. I'm currently hitting a blend of RY4 and Caramel, which is oh so tasty. When it starts to peter off, I just drop two drops of each in the cart and keep going. (I'm waiting on my samplers of Chocolate, Amaretto, and Vanilla, which I'll add in small does to the mix for something I hope will be truly wonderful.)

Happy vaping!

IMO, the 510 is a must-have PV, and I don't think you'll have any issues in public. I take mine out all the time and it's no more "out there" than the Blu really. I use blue LED batts too by the way.

The vapor & flavor production is wonderful. The atty is a huge PITA honestly, the bridge is down a deep well majing it hard to unclog sometimes. I much prefer my Dragon for ease of use. The Dragon is almost equal to the 510 in vapor and flavor.

If I only had my Dragon, I'd be content honestly. It's that good.

510 is great, Dragon is great... you can't go wrong with either.

I actually went ahead and ordered the 510 last night. I still think I'll be sticking with the blu at work since I don't always get the time to run outside. I work in a sound booth, with windows and really can't have a huge cloud of vapor around me.

I ended up smoking a pack of analogs last night with my neighbors. Blu wasn't cutting it when the wine started pouring. I hope the 510 will be better for those circumstances. They were impressed with the blu though and what it does and it was their first time seeing an e-cig.

I don't think there is any one size fits all in PV's. I've purchased 5 models so far. My favorite model is the 510 and its what I use 90% of the time. My second fave would be my Janty Stick, and these are the only two I now use.

Since I loved my 510 so much I purchased one for my brother to get started on. He absolutely hates it. So I dug out one of my earlier purchases, a two piece unit. He gave it a try and decided he liked that model much more and he's now willing to give vaping a real try. What works for one of us might not work for someone else. I will never call any PV crap. Whatever works best for you is fine. I try to keep an open mind.
