I am looking for something similar to you. Have you looked at the VaporLuxe rev. 2 at Aceofvapes?
It looks interesting and easy to live with. I have not found much review info, though I have just started looking.

Looks nice man but if I was going to pickup something @$150 I would definately go for the Reo Grand

Boge Revolution V2 looks good, but seems like it's proprietary as well. The Sgt VV actually looks great but I don't know if I want to pay $75 for plastic :( Damn, I guess I want a Reo Grand, just super cheap. I should shutup and look at the classifieds for a cheap/good deal >.< Hah. Thanks all.

There's actually a review on YouTube from a guy who compared those two devices side by side, and that was the final confirmation I needed to made the decision I needed to shell out the extra money do the REO.

I was in the same boat as you, but once I spent the money, it became a distant memory. I don't regret it at all. Besides, if you don't like it, you pretty much get everything you paid for it back if you re-sell it. The used ones go for about the same price as new ones, as there is no flavor that lingers, and nothing that can break. One is good for life...

If you are checking things have a look at the GLV 3 Highly rated for customer support and great warranty. Something just a bit different. They are at greatlakesvapor. Good luck and have fun searching.

The GLV 3 Looks AMAZING but if I had that kinda cash, I wouldn't be on the forums looking for a cheaper way to get this done.

Hum, theres the Oldgoat mods that are quite reasonable in price, 5v Box Mod theres a 5volt unit and also some 3.7 volts , look'em up. But to be honest, being a REO owner (grand and mini) nothing comes close to them! my advice is save up some money, and look in the classifieds on the forum, theres often nice deals on bundles of reo's and batteries etc... there really worth there price !

Illuminatu, you are the MAN :D I have already emailed for a old goat.. Hoping the turn around is decently quick. I have decided to go with the old goat for now, can't justify spending three times as much for the same thing basically >.<

Unless money is a real issue, there really is no alternative to any of the REO mods - excellent design. amazing reliability, easy to use, and excellent customer support. I've purchased almost every bottom feed mod available, and none of them even come close to matching the quality of the REOs. I have five REOs, and they all perform flawlessly - and I can't say the same for the other mods I own.

Of course nothing compares to a Reo! I never mentioned that the oldgoat did, but there quite affordable... and they seem to match the OP's criteria, so I'm not here to judge , i was only pointing out the obvious affordable option

I didn't mean to step on your post, I was just backing up what banjo wrote - sorry! I'm all for other affordable options too, such as the VMOD if you can't afford a mini, etc.
