Battery question (TrustFire TF 14500)

Hi,

Probably a stupid question. I just got an AA box mod from madvapes. I ordered two TrustFire TF 14500 batteries with it, but no charger. Can I just charge these in the AA charger I already have? They seem to fit, but since I don't know anything about electricity, I don't know if I can just do that. It doesn't say AA on the batteries (Even though they seem to be the same size), so I'm not sure if they're the same thing.

What kind of battery charger do you have? You could google it to see if it is safe to charge your 14500 batts.

A GP PowerBank.
Output: 2.8V = 220mA

I googled GP Powerbank and those chargers are for charging NiMH batteries. You are using li-lon batteries. You don't want to use that charger.

+1 on the don't use it. Li ion bats take a 4.2 volt charger (output)

No...you need a charger designed for Lithium Ion type batteries.

Madvapes has a single slot charger fairly cheap and Super T Manufacturing has a double slot for around $16. Both are ECF forum suppliers.

Thanks for the replies. I actually did order a charger with my box mod, but it didn't come in the packaging (and it was marked on the shipping list), so I'll have to get in contact with mad vapes about that. I was hoping I could have charged the batteries in the mean time, but it's a good thing I asked first

Awww. I hope you get your charger soon!!! I love my little box mods (Silent Soldier on the forum made mine).

BTW if you are in a hurry you could check if Radio Shack has a suitable charger for protected 14500's and make sure the Trustfires fit (they are a bit longer I think than Ultrafire protecteds). If Radio Shack has a reasonable charger maybe you can cancel the Madvapes charger.

BTW - very handy on Ebay - search for 4-AA plastic case - cheap little plastic cases for storing batteries or carrying more in your pocket.

Thanks, but I don't think we have Radio Shack here in Belgium. Off course there will be similar shops, but I'd rather wait a few days than drive around looking for the charger. I have some other PV's as well for the meantime (getting quite a collection)

Your collection is similar to mine. Though my first 3 weeks were spent on a tiny M402 and M401. I use manual Joye 510, manual KR808D-1 (V4L + one Volt manual battery - same as Bloog) and a Riva 510 and a couple of 3.7v mod boxes. And one GotVapes 3-stage Ego battery.

Yeah, I much prefer manual batteries over automatic ones as well. I also just received my Revolution V2.1 (which I like a lot, but the button on the AA box has a nicer tactile feeling), and a Volt battery I ordered to replace my manual Bloog battery.
Now I'm really interested in the GLV-3, but I already spent too much on vaping these last few months. My money would be better spent on spare carto's I guess, since I now already have enough batteries.
