I'd check your spam, as long as it uses a standard 510 thread...I don't have one so I can't give you a 100% positive answer. You won't be able to put the cover over the atomizer though. But maybe someone that has one can give you a better answer than I.

Hi. Yes, I always check the spam folder. Perhaps no one has been available to answer. I'm wanting to try this because I've not yet used one of the lr atomizers. Never used an eGo either for that matter. This will be my first. I've been using a standard 510 since last October.

The atomizers from AltSmokes seem to have gotten rave reviews which is why I wanted them from there.

I am having a positive experience with the LR 501 atties as well. I have only tried two of the five that I ordered. The draw was really stiff on one of them for some reason and it just wasn't really kicking. I starting thinking it was probably just that that one was kind of a dud. I tried the second one and it rocks. I imagine the others will too. I don't mind one dud atty every once in a while and Altsmoke's price for these atties is more than fair IMO.

I will say that I still prefer the SB at 6 volts with a regular 510 atty, but the LR provides a nice alternative for when I just really need to travel light for some reason. I should also mention that I imagine that a lot of people will prefer the LR atty over vaping at 6 volts. Overall, I am more than satisfied and got exactly what I expected after reading this thread.

Hate to be the buzz kill, but I got one of the LR 510 atomizers and have been using it for nearly 24 hours. The vapor production and throat hit are fantastic (as promised), but I can't get past the awful 'new atty' taste a full day later? I've tried different liquids, even HV liquids (PG and VG). I've tried my BB/14500 with and without the hot spring as well as my SB/18650 (with and without).

What am I doing wrong?

I personally feel it is the atty and not you. I have used them for a couple of weeks and have not experienced what you have with them on the bb and other mods. Do you have another to try?

The "new atty" taste comes from whatever it is they put on the bridge/coil for shipping. I assume it's to prevent oxidation. If the atomizer fires that stuff has to burn off. If you're adding juice and vaporzing it has to "wash" it away or vaporize it away. Does everything look ok in there? Look in there with some light and see if you see anything that looks melted or burnt or some foreign material or something...

If not, try dripping 2 drops of your juice directly on the bridge, vape 3 or 4 puffs, repeat. Every new atomizer I've ever had burned off the stuff in 2 or 3 draws -- and I never bother cleaning them or doing any sort of prep. Just the procedure above.

I think it may just be that atty too, but when vaping a new atty I always drip a few drops take a couple of puffs and then blow out the atty and repeat a few times hoping to get rid of that flavor. I almost want to flood the atty sometimes just because I feel that it will dilute whatever that taste is. Anyway, good luck.

Well, it looks like it was the atty. I purchased 5 (can't beat that price!) but didn't want to waste them so I hadn't tried another. Duh.

Within one minute, the second one worked just fine. In fact, it worked great! If these last for a decent amount of time, I may just switch to these. Time will tell.

I'll try cleaning the other atty out and see if that works. Thanks, everyone!

I see. Well, I guess I shall just have to wait until they get some in stock. :( I've not used an eGo before and am waiting for one in the mail. Is the cone an indispensable part of the array?

Hi,
I am going to chime in here for a minute on the eGo.
The eGo's cone is used in a way (as it was designed to) to allow the user to adjust for air flow and to get a warmer, richer flavor from their liquids.
The cone will also allow the atty (510 in this case) to get warmer or hotter (depending on reg or LR atty) and burn richer (like in a carborater. Less air, the richer the vape. More air the less richer the vape..
No, you cannot use an 801 on these unless you modify the cone (which has been done) to allow it to slip over the 801 atty.
You can use a 901 atty as is and carto's. Just need an adaptor..

The cone is simply for the look of the unit. It's not necessary :)
This depends on how you want to use it. By design, it is necessary to use the cone as it was intended to be used. Again, look above for the way it is to be used. The cone can be turned slightly off (loose) and get more air into the atty. When the cone is on tight, it will make the atty hotter, hence work harder and less time for a drag (unless ur like me, take a long drag either with the cone on or off.) Yes it is for looks too, but not what the design of it was intened for.

I hope I have helpped for everyone to understand the cone and NOT step on anyones feet.:)

I just got in my batch of LR attys from Altsmoke and so far, I really am liking them! I have tried LR devices from several sources, and have been less than satisfied with all of them. Either they had an odd draw, or they died quickly. While it remains to be seen if these will last longer, the draw is 100% better than the others I have tried. From what I understand, the altsmoke LR's run at a bit higher resistance - 1.8 as opposed to 1.5, so hopefully this will increase the reliability. The vape is smooth, not too hot and I am enjoying it so far.
