I was thinking about the carto tanks that slide on a cartomizer. Yes that has a carto style wick, but I still think of it as a clearomizer.

That is a clearo- what I sometimes use for discreet vaping.

This is my everyday unit, with - IBTanked carto tank---

I would prefer a simple design if it fit my needs. But I lung hit, so I need airflow. I don't want to buy coils, so I use an rta. I need power to power the rta, so I have a bigger battery. It's not about cloud chasing or competing with anyone or blowing the biggest smoke.. Its merely preference. You found yours and that's cool. Everyone is different.

Fx, it's quite simple. People have different preferences. 1.8 ohm might be great for you. Someone else might prefer .3. And that's OK.

A couple months ago I dropped a 2 - 3ml of juice in a 200 watt heat gun and it filled the room with vape in a few seconds didn't have to vape for awhile. but that was 120 volts
Lol. I have a heat gun on the floor next to me... I don't think I'll try it though. I've used high wattage builds, but its not for me. I can't imagine smoking anything nicotine in one of those. I smoke more for flavor. I tried to like the subtank but it didn't do it for me in flavor. I play around with builds but usually revert to my normal coil builds.

I quit smoking completely a few months ago, but have gradually upgraded. At this point I've actually dialed it back a bit so I think I found what I like, at least for now. Other people prefer bigger, so it really depends on the person. I could see subohming being preferred. But it wasn't for me. I have a dripper I never use, and a slew of ego tanks and smaller clearomizers. Mainly I use rtas now, the kayfun v4 and the taifun gt2. I find that they produce a nice smooth vape, and I can customize the build to my preferences. My friend next door to me just upgraded to a subtank and is now looking to upgrade his battery to a 50w or higher and experiment with lower resistance. He still smokes cigs and is still searching for his optimal setup.

More isn't better if what you have is *working* for you.

I like the 650 size batts, they are so transportable.

The other thing is that while people are spending a gazillion $$ on newer stuff, the older stuff has become dirt cheap, and I've picked up quite a few great things lately online that is almost ridiculously cheap that I love using :)

There are still people here who use cig a likes as well. It's just that there's not much to discuss so they don't post. :)

Yeah, the 650's with small tanks just fit in my pockets. I don't even bother to turn them off unless I'm wearing jeans.

When I bought premixed juice the vv batts were great. When I started mixing my own I tested it with a cheap standard voltage batt, and then found out I was setting my vv's to 3.7v or so. What had been great was just bigger and more expensive. I've found out over time that with any kind of technology, staying a year or so behind the curve has huge benefits. Prices go down, bugs get fixed, and so often what is hailed as the product of the year turns out to be the lemon of the decade.
The gear I'm using now, when I hear that crunching sound as I pull out of my driveway and realize that I've just run over the rig that was in almost in my pocket, or the cracking sound when a cat bats one off the shelf onto the tile, its an annoyance, not a tragedy.

Yeah, if it just works, what's to discuss? Except it took me a long time and a lot of trial and error and money to find out what I really need and don't need. I appeciate the irony of being back to what is essentially my first eGo starter kit only with a bottom coil instead of the old CE4.

Much credit to the DIY forum for de-mystifying mixing my own juice.
