Maybe so, but it's getting worse every day.
Hopefully it starts getting better before it gets too worse.

Thank you all so much for your input. I now know I am not alone or weird. Well, the later is up for debate but not weird about the way I vape fits. :p I guess I just get caught up in hearing all these people go on and on about how much better the juice tastes when used in this that or the other new thing that I want to find that same Ahhhhhhhhh. Yes, I am happy with my simple Kangers and do love my Plume Veil when I can drip without fear that a grandchild will get a hold of it. I wanted to ask because I was at a store when a fellow vaper asked me what I was vaping at. I handed him my box mod/Kanger sub and thought he would never stop laughing. He promptly tried to educate me that with the .5 ohm head I could easily go up to 25 30 watts for the best taste. Well it makes me choke and tastes nasty to me I said. He just shook his head and told me I didn't know what I was doing. This was not a friend but just a person I know that shares vaping so I made no changes how I do things, just wanted to see how weird I was. Thanks to you all I know I am OK. :toast:

Right behind you...
Dude needs a slap!!!

Maybe, or maybe the dude saw that Jode was running a high nic and/or a high PG level juice in a sub-ohm build and was clearly having problems with choking at the recommended wattage range simply because HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING regarding juice in that build.

I dont find it strange to want a simpler vape. I think I am kinda of useless when it comes to understanding all these drips and what not. I have to get help from my kids and their friends. So far, my simple e-stick has proven to be the best for me. :)

It seems like everyone looks for something different from vaping... This kit looks way over priced IMO.
1 650mAh eGo battery, 1 ce5 clearomizer "on sale" for $40? the ego shouldn't be more than $20, and the ce5 maybe $5... And those are retail prices (online)! I could be wrong, but it just seems like quite a markup for an online retailer. But if your happy I'm happy :)

JUICY! eStick Single Kit
Huge vapor
Massive tank
Lol

That's hilarious... $40 for a non-variable 650mah Ego, and one of those horrible top-coil tanks? Oh please. That's worth maybe $20, TOTAL. I got an 800mah variable voltage AND wattage Itaste vv3, with 5 of those crappy top-coil tanks, for $40 -- and THAT was overpriced, because I ended up throwing those stupid tanks in the trash. Later I got 2 more iTaste vv3s, for $27 each -- a much more realistic price for an 800mah battery.

I have not been vaping all that long. In fact I just passed my five month mark. I have progressed in my vape style in a pretty common fashion. I started on a simple non adjustable battery (Kanger 1000mah) and mini kanger tank. I tried a MVP2 shortly after and got one right away. I also have a few Vision spinner 2's and got an Istick when they came out. The only battery I no longer use is the simple non adjustable Kanger battery, but I hold onto it as I have let other use to see if vaping is for them. I use mostly kanger tanks (aero and mini) but have an aspire nautilous, an itaste 30 and 30B (which I barely use any more), and a couple of aspire k1's. Well, the Holidays came around and I dove in a bit more. I got a Smok XPro BT50 and a kanger sub and I want to love it but I am not sure I do. I also got an Aspire sub ohm CF mod and a plume veil, but daughter took this over until she can afford her own so I am only talking about the kanger sub and Smok mod. What I am finding is that all the juices I have come to love, taste completely different in the kanger sub. I play with the wattage but find myself always wanting to turn it way down. I am using the stock .5 ohm heads. I have the air flow as open as it allows, but if I go much over 10 watts I feel like I want to choke and that the juice taste is almost too thick if that makes sense. The juices I am vaping are 3mg so I don't think that is it. Am I just a wussy? I like the nice puffy clouds I can make with my box mod and kanger sub but the taste is bowling me over and not in a good way. I keep finding myself grabbing my simple Spinners and regular Kanger Aero or my Eleaf/Kanger set up for the best taste for me. Am I alone in this? Is it strange to be using a sub coil with such low wattage (7.9 watts or 3.3 volts depending on how you wanna look at it) or should I just shut up and vape how it is good for me? Hahaha.

Sounds to me like you may have dove in too far too fast. Reading about and buying "the next great thing" is okay provided you've got the experience and consequent education to make that choice and deal with the intricacies of that "next great thing" before loosing patience and continuing the chase.

My advice is to slow down and further explore what you already have. Personally I have a couple iSticks and paired with a Nautilus mini with a 1.8Ω coil they're my go to all day vapes when I set the iSticks to an indicated '(indicated' because the iSticks use mean voltage regulation, but that's another story) 8 watts or so. I've got a bunch of high $$$ mods but the money I paid for the iSticks and Naut mini were in my mind some of the best vape related money I've spent in almost 5 years of doing this.

So... question for you, about those iSticks: I've heard that they run hot, because of Mean instead of RMS. Could a person who normally vapes about 10w be happy with those? As you say, around their indicated 8w or so?

Because I really like their looks, and small size, and even the prices aren't bad, but I've been scared of them because of that Mean thing. When I first got my Sigelei Zmax, I didn't know the factory default was Mean, and at the time, in those little T3S tanks I was using, I kept getting the burnt taste, until someone advised me RE: Mean vs. RMS. I no longer use those small kangers, nowadays it's strictly Kayfuns and a cartotank, and both around 10w -- would I be able to use an iStick without gettng the burnt taste?

Thx!

Another concern is I dont think they have step down regulation, so if you set it to 8w on a 1.6ohm coil with a fully charged battery you are getting 4.2v or 11w.

I never go below 1.8Ω on my coils, and often wind up around 2Ω. My cartos are 3Ω. 11w wouldn't distress me though, I often bump it up to that, chasing more TH or more vapor. It seems the lowest I'm using these days is 10w, and I wondered if the iStick could accommodate my usual vaping style.

That was just an example, but if you go higher and set to 8w you should be fine :)
Just wanted to make you aware of the potential concern

Ms Andria, did I miss something? Seems the conversation went from e-stick to iStick. Do you not own an iStick? I think you would love it. On mine I run the KFL at around 12-14w and it does great. If I keep that on the iStick all day (in my normal 3 or 4 PV rotation of course) I'll get 1-1/2 to 2 days on a charge.

That could work. Actually I was thinking of using it with a cartotank, one of those bright colored UDCTs, since the iSticks also have bright colors. I've so far been all black (and gunmetal)/white/stainless, except for my red ARO Winder, but that one is only 900mAh and no passthru as I have with the vv3s, so I don't seem to get much use out of it. The hot pink would be a sweet combo of iStick and UDCT, with my DIY Strawberries and Cream in it. :D The cartos I use are 3Ω, so they could stand the higher current, and I do sometimes turn it up to 12w or 12.5w with the Vamo, but that one tends to be a bit underpowered; probably with the iStick I'd keep it turned down low, and be able to get astounding battery life from it. My 18650s are 2000 and 2250 mAh, and they last all day, so another like that would be great!

Hmmm.... now that I think on it, that DIY strawberries and cream is not well suited to use in a carto, it gunks the hell out of my kayfun wicks and coils. Maybe I'd go for the blue, and keep my blueberry muffin-or-whatever in it, it's not as gunky.
