For me its an aspire atlantis on a CF SUB battery...

It has too modes for me... wide open for lots of vapor, or Nautilus mode where I set it on the smallest air hole and use a nautilus drip tip... better flavor, less vapor, more vapes between refills...

.

I just got my Atlantis with the CF Sub Ohm battery yesterday. I am normally a mouth to lung vaper but I am getting used to direct mouth hits. I think I would really enjoy a smaller tip for those times that I want more flavor and mouth-to-lung. The Nautilus will fit it?

Sorry, not trying to hijack OP )

I'm the same. I know a lot of people recommend and say that building your own coils is simple; and it very well may be. But for me, I find it much more convenient to spend a few bucks every month on coils. I'm not knocking anyone, just my preference. I am very satisfied with my iStick and Nautilus Mini, I don't need anything more. To be honest, my setup is already a step down in convenience factor than pulling out a cig and lighting up (alright it's actually like 5 steps down lol!). But this has got me through almost 3 months of no cigarettes so I'm completely satisfied.

That's not to say though that if major improvements are made I won't jump on them. Such as the new iSticks with the better 510 connections. I can't wait to throw the ego adapter and beauty ring away haha

I do build my own coils, for my kayfuns, and yeah it's not hard at all, but for convenience sake, I also have a cartotank -- just swap out cartos, and it's good for a few days (I change cartos more often then most, because of my very sweet ejuice).

I actually find removable batteries a LOT more convenient than the kind of mod you have to plug in. Every morning I check all mine that are in mods, and the ones that are low, I put in the charger and put a fresh one in the mod. I've gotten so spoiled with my 2000mAh 18650s, I sometimes forget that my vv3s are less than half that -- until they blink yellow at me, and I have to plug them in! And yeah, you can vape those while they're plugged in, but then it takes FOREVER to charge them. If I'm interested in vaping one that needs charging, I have to plug it in to my computer, which *may* be risky. Really I strongly prefer removable 18650 batteries; they last all day, don't take long to charge in my Efest Luc2 if I use the 1A setting, and I don't have to do anything risky like plug them in to my computer.

It's definitely easier to pull out a cig and light it. But that's taking time and quality of life off the end of your life. For some they may be far into their lives and the effects may not make as much of an impact for longevity, but hopefully you can breath better, are more energetic and can taste and smell better (for better and worse.. Lol!)
Again I'm in the rebuild camp, but vaping is vaping and I don't care what your setup is or how big your clouds are, I just think it is awesome that you've found something that works for you! Some times that can be the most difficult part.
Egos are a cheap way for people to get introduced to vaping, gives them the idea of what vaping is like, and allow most people to realize they could make the switch. For people who are committed to making the switch I recommend some of the mid level setups like istick and mvp with nautilus as it is more likely to satisfy them... I agree having to switch batteries more than once a day can be a hassle.

I guess I'm all about simple! I use MVPS with aerotanks and ISticks with the Nautilus minis and I still use my mini protank 2s and Evod tanks! They work for me and I have made it past my one year mark! I did get a Lemo but I haven't used it yet! Simple is simply good for me!

Let's trade! I'll give you 2 Aerotanks for the Lemo :)

I so wanted the little Aerotanks to work since they go right through the ring on the VTR, but sadly for me I find the coil life too short and not hitting that sweet spot for me like to Nautilus.

I'm pretty content with my eGrip and iStick with a Kayfun mini on it. I'm getting an iStick 30 watt this week and a Lemo Drop. I've tried to dabble in sub-ohming and mech mods and building coils but it's usually just too much effort for me. I realize if I had known this sooner about myself then I could have saved myself a lot of money. I never touch my mech mods or the 5 RBA's and RDA's I have. I barely even use my regular Kayfuns. I'm hoping that I'll at least use my Lemo Drop enough to justify me getting one... but ugh.. at the same time, I just picked up a mini Erlkonigin clone as well hoping to get back into rebuilding. Guess we'll see. If not, I'll have my trusty iStick/Kayfun mini combo to stick to. It provides me a great vape so I don't see much reason to try a bunch of other stuff out... except when I get bored. Which I did which is why I got new stuff. I need to stop.

I love my RDAs - easy to build (lots of room), hardly ever any wicking problems (my biggest problem is burning out my wicks) and ALWAYS a great vape. ReadyXwick has solved my burning through wick problems, and its so much lower maintenance than cotton (Can dry burn it clean), with an awesome clean flavor every time. If dripping every few vapes is a problem there are always bottom feeder mods that resolve that issue :)

Relaxing at home and at my work bench at work I mostly use a Nautilus mini firing at 8 watts on a regulated mod with an 18650 battery. I tend to chain vape in those situations and people are around so clouds are not appropriate.

In public I want stealth options. My egrip with the RBA option has good battery endurance and tank capacity and gives a stronger nic hit than the N mini when time is limited. I'm interested in the tiny Joyetech One with the 1 ohm coil for ultra stealth. I would DIY high PG liquid for that one to minimize visible vapor but still get flavor and a strong nic hit.

I have an Atlantis that might replace the N minis if the 1 ohm coils coming from Fasttech perform as I hope. Then may be I can fire it like the N minis at low watts or ramp up to more intense hits without changing tanks. I'll probably get an iStick 30w or may be 50w for the Atlantis for out and about on the motorcycle. The Egrip and all my other mods might be displaced if an affordable side by side regulated mod comes along that will allow replacaing batteries and using the tank of my choice. I want devices that are not tall for easier pocket carry.

I would invest to get a side-by-side with temp control, bluetooth, and a phone app to to keep track of how I'm using the device to help reduce the tendency to chain vape.

There's no way to keep things super simple because the technology has a long way to go. What a fun ride this is.

To me that's farily simple.

Right behind you...
I like a simple vape too, but I'm now running a regulated 30w box (Cloupor Mini) and an Atlantis and Subtank. Why? Because consistency. The higher wattage and higher dollar setups just plain deliver a better, more consistent vape for me.

Keep in mind I was a lung hitter smoker, deep drags and long exhales, not puffs, so eGos and tiny clearos with tight draws just never scratched that itch in my lungs...I could give a damn about throat hit, I wanted lung hit. Moving up from sticks to an MVP and a Nautilus helped, it was better, but still not good enough. And I was never getting good flavor.

These new subohm clearos do the job, the massive airflow and big high performance coils let me lung hit, and it opens up a whole new world of flavor. But without the hassles that prevented me from being a dripper. Combine it with the plethora of new small form factor/high wattage regulated boxes makes it extremely portable as well.

Finally, these new beefy high airflow sub-ohm/low-ohm high wattage coils just plain last longer and are lower hassle, so to me, it's even more simple than before.

Simple.... Hummm......

I did alittle research on Mechanical Mods because there's nothing more aggravating to me then having something I spent a considerable amount of my hard earned dollars on 6 months later refuse to work because a 12 penny unrepairable micro switch decided to go bad. I chose a Nemesis.

Then I researched rebuildable tanks because the last carto in the house at 2am during a heavy beer drinking session always blows open on the second good toke.I chose a Kayfun Lite V2 and a Erlkinogen.

Started off with clones and bought authentic's of the clones I liked.

5 minute rewicks.... 15 bucks buys 3 months worth of supplys.....No more 2am Russian Roullette with the last working atomizer.......

Juice: I started off with all the obvious big hitters but got tired of waiting for shipments....The wife of a coworker who I got started on vaping decided to DIY juice..... I've been vaping her juice since. (She sells enough to pay for all of the supplies and they vape for free)

It is supposed to get simpler.....A life well lived should get easier with time.....

Some people just hate fiddling with schitt.

I've been vaping for five years now...

I have been using standard Joyetech 510 atomizers since the second week.
I still use them to this day.

I did progress to replaceable batteries on my Chucks.
Then I also progressed to variable voltage using Twists and Spinners.

So now, five years later, that is what I'm using because it works for me.
The only thing that matters to me is what works for me.

The rest is just Vapesturbation.
:)

EDIT: Okay, I did just recently buy a Mini iStick and I'm liking it.
EDIT: So now I can choose either that or my Twist/Spinner batteries.

I wanted simple and easy. I have a mech, but use it with a kick for a backup to my MVP. I have been vaping on the same kayfun coil I wrapped 3 months ago. I vape non-flavored mainly. I still use my spinners as well with the kayfun... I vape around 7-8 watts.

Rinse kayfun.. change cotton.. Use a dripper while kayfun airs out.

Easy stuff.

Heh... last week I finally replaced the coils in both my Kayfuns... which had been in use since July. :D Only one of them was getting iffy as an atomizer, just not making much vapor, but I figured why not replace both at once. But barring any unforeseen catastrophes, it seems that coils in Kayfuns will last half a year -- at the very least. That's pretty dang simple! :thumb:

If it makes you happy, it's the "right" setup! Everyone's different. While I can't get a thick enough or flavorful enough vape, most people choke on my perfect vape and that's with ZERO nicotine. That's what makes the community work - there are plenty of folks who like a vape like you no matter how you like your vape!

This is exactly why I asked. I can't remember where I saw these guidelines but this information is what made me think I was doing something rather off. Maybe it isn't for me. The thing that strike me funny is that I do enjoy a .5 (dual 1 ohm coils) on the Aspire CF subohm in my Plume Veil. This taste nice to me and doesn't send me into a coughing fit. On the other hand if I bump my xpro BT50 with my Kanger sub ohm tank with stock .5 coils up to 30 watts with same juice (3mg) I feel like I could cough for days on top of feeling like my mouth is coated in the juice. What you are saying makes total sense until I put it into practice and that is where it falls apart for me. I feel like everybody else is getting some experience that I am just not getting. I have tried all the air settings and different inhale techniques and just can't seem to find a spot that I like that high with the kanger sub tank so I find myself bumping it down way low. I don't have a problem with being an odd bird in my ways, but I wanted to see if there was a problem with vaping a sub coil in this fashion. Maybe once I am out of the .5 heads I can just use up the prebuilt coils and then go on to build my own. Or I could pass on the .5 heads to another Kanger user and just build on it. I will experiment. I appreciate all the input I am getting here. At my local vape shop both guys, Max and Chris, are both incredibly patient and genuinely want to help people out but I hate to always bug them with my ......oddness, hahahaha.

Hey Jode since you already spent your hard earned cash.. maybe try this.. when i went to sub ohms i had to cut my nic level way down.. I went from a 18mg to a 3mg.. should help with the coughing..
