I dunno...I read all the methods of cleaning attys, grain alcohol, vinegar & baking soda, boiling, blowing them out with air compressors, yada, yada, yada. It all seems so complicated.

I just put the atty in a clothespin, set it in the sink and let the very hot water run through it for about five minutes. I blow it out with a few blasts from a turkey baster and let it sit drying out until the other one needs cleaning.

I've been using the same two attys for six weeks now, alternating them with this method and they seem to be going strong. When one gets weak, I do the above routine on it and use the other.

Can it be that easy?

Seems to work for me.

I might try your way. In the past, when I tried just rinsing with hot water, they were the same. Then I started rinsing in hot water and doing the dry burn. Worked great on the regular atomizers. Then I started using the LR atomizers and quickly popped an atomizer trying to do a dry burn on it. I tried soaking them, running them under a hot water dispenser using tongs...nothing worked. Then I decided to try the grain alcohol. I put about 10 in a tiny cup with a lid and left them in there for 1 day and shook the heck out of the container every time I passed it. I put them all in a sock and positioned the hair dryer on them for about 10 mins. I took them out and forgot about them until my current atomizer quit. I tried one and by golly, the darn thing worked. I'm on my second atomizer I cleaned and its working great too.

Your way seems easier and cheaper. Maybe I wasn't holding it under the water long enough. Turkey baster sounds interesting., I'll try it though.

The attynator....

Can it be that easy? Yes...It's just that easy. With the attynator, you can clean atties in a flash! No boiling. No peeling. No foaming.
Is it for dentures? NO! It's for atties.
It's just that easy.
Watch...
One atty.
Two atty.
Three atty, four.

Yes, the attynator does it all. All this for 10.99 (+S&H) But WAIT!!! There's more!!! Right now... get two attynators for the price of one! That's right... two attynators for only 10.99 (+S&H). That's a 21.98 value for only 10.99! All you do is supply your own hot water!

Can it be that easy... YES... it's just that easy!!!!

(atties not included)
</joke>

P.S. I don't even use the turkey baster. Since I only have one atty going at a time... I just blow em out real well and start using them immediately.

Funny.

The baster just blows the excess water out. Got tired of huffing on the atty 'till I was dizzy to clear the water.

Actually, this is the second great use I've found for the baster besides its intended use. If I overfill the oil on my motorcycle when I do the oil change, I can siphon off a few ounces with the baster through the top filler hole without having to make a mess trying to drain it out through the plug. Of course, the wife keeps looking for the missing basters and replacing them. I just play dumb (not a big stretch for me) and shrug when she is fumbling through the drawer looking for one.
