I just got two smoktech 510 2.0 Ohm drip atomizers and this being the first time using them I screwed one onto my eco twist VV and put in three drops of liquid and tried to vape. I got very little vapor and a very tight draw then it started to leak from the bottom of the atty. Am I doing something wrong here or is this just something I should expect from something that is not rebuildable?

Usually attys come with 'primer' in them, generally just PG or VG. Did you rinse them out first? I use pure grain alcohol but hot water will do. Blow it out and try again. Mine only leak when there is too much liquid in them

I didn't rinse them or anything because I wasn't aware they had anything in them. I wouldn't think they are suppose to leak at all from the base despite how much juice goes in. How much do people usually put in to avoid that? I only did 3 drops.

Dripping can take a little trial and error, all attys are'nt alike. Some will take 3 drops and some will take 4, and others more before they are flooded and leak.
I'm no dripping expert, but I find I usually have to prime them before they start working well, basically I flood them at the start intentionally, put way more liquid in than I know it actually takes, to get everything saturated. Then I'll blow them out and leave the remaining excess juice leak onto a paper towel or something, after that I start vaping till the flavor starts to dissipate then add 3 drops. If that works well i'll add 4 the next time, and so on till I know how much I can add before it leaks. I'm sure others do different, but that's what works for me. Cleaning them before starting, like mentioned before, is also good advice.

Hard to explain honestly. Looks like there is a metal mesh over the twisted coils then I really can't see anything under that except a bit of white.

bacc.vap explained it so much better than I can. If you can't get it working, I'd offer one last ditch effort- get a small fluff of cotton, sterile cotton is best if you have it and tuck it in gently on either side of the mesh with a tweezer or something. Saturate them with a drop or two (it's very small bits of cotton) and try that.

I appreciate the input everyone. I just learned not to drip a tobacco blend and expect anything dripped after to taste like anything other than tobacco lol. I guess it will take some trial and error and also patience. I mainly want to drip at home since dripping on the go doesnt seem very easy. I might just spring for an RDA when I get my tax returns and possibly use cartotanks while out and about.
