Hi fellow vapers,

I am a noob when it comes to vaping but I am enjoying the experience greatly.

I recently purchased two Ego 1000 mah batteries and two ego-T B type atomizers (one LR and one regular).

I was having serious problems with leaking from the ego-T so I decided to go for the 6ml DC 510 from smoktech.
I watched a few youtube videos about filling and followed the steps ie. dripped about 20-25 drops into the cartomizer sides and filled the tank and inserted the drip tip etc. I let it sit for 15 minutes. I was using Dekang DK TAB which is not that viscous.

When I took the first hit I was hit by the most foul tasting smoke/vapour and left me with a dry throat. The carto was gurgling like a witches cauldron and I was afraid to inhale in case I got the hit of doom again.

After a while the carto settled down and I was able to vape but the vape was very "airy" and the thing pops e-liquid into the drip tip even with the little rubber seal in place. Is this normal?

I subsequently bough silicon caps for the Ego-t cartridges which helped tremendously but I am disappointed in the DC 510. Did I do something wrong?

I just bought an Ego 1000 mah for a friend last weekend. The kit also came with vision stardusts but I also tested it with may tank- performed flawlessly. When filling the tank you have to be VERY CAREFUL NOT to pressure the juice into the carto. It will result in flooding. I prefer this tank as it easy to fill and does not force/ pressurize the juice into the carto because it has side screw for easy filling.

Good Luck.

If you are using cartos with flanges, you can't use the condom method. You can fill the carto by sticking a round toothpick in the center air tube hole and then dripping drops to keep it full. When it doesn't absorb any more juice into the filler, suck out the excess using your dropper bottle or a syringe. Blow out the carto into a towel and vape.

ETA: you could invert the carto into the condom to fill, but the bottom of the filler is higher and you'd have to keep the condom full as it soaks in.

In the DC510 tank so the cartomizer has a little hole presumably to keep the cartomizer.
Yes juice goes from the tank through the hole and keeps the carto wet. If the juice is too thin or thick flooding or inadequate filling of the carto occurs.
Does the Carto need to be completely saturated before inserting the carto into the tank and filling it?
Most definitely yes.
What PG/ VG ratio is your juice?

I was using 100% PG I think. So that would make it too thin?

I might try cutting it with some VG.

Thanks, you're a star!

Welcome. Yes 100% PG is very thin. Standard juice ratios are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG. I use 60/ 40 PG/ VG and punch my own cartos with a hole of 2.5 mm. If you prefer the 100% PG you could always look into clearomizers OR punch an even smaller hole in the carto IMO.
Good Luck.
You can easily cheaply buy VG Food Grade in the pharmacy in the first aid/ band aid section BUT it will dilute your nic ratio and flavor.
