so i've been reading over the forums this past week and it seems to be a mixed review as far as steeping goes...thoughts? i've now ordered from nicotine nirvana, true vapor, diy flavorshack, gourmet vapor, and vapor station. i'm just looking for an everyday vape...and have yet to find anything that can beat my camel/turkish blend from true vapor. all the others were okay...but just not a bold enough flavor to satisfy. has anyone come across this? i mostly ordered tobacco flavored and i ordered the famous frisco but could hardly taste it. please tell me i'm being a noob and how to remedy this...thanks in advance!

Being a n00b, how recently did you stop (or cut back) on smoking? That taste buds have a time period of adjustment, where sections of them are "waking up" for lack of a better term. You'll find food tasting wierd as well. For example, in my case, it seems like the section of my tongue that tastes salty flavors woke up first, and everything tasted very salty to me for a while.

As to steeping, it depends non the manufacturer. Backwood Brews needs to steep, I know for a fact, for example. Send the manufacturer in question an email asking them what, if any, is the recommended steeping time for their product. They should be more than happy to help.

Wow. Couldn't taste Frisco. I can understand perhaps not liking the taste of Frisco (taste is subjective), but not being able to taste it? That's a new one on me.

What setup are you using? Meaning Ecig and voltage, atty/carto and resistance?

those were my thoughts as well. thats a strong bold flavor. ive heard other people go threw phases where they couldnt taste things very strongly after they stropped smoking. you might want to give it a few weeks for your taste buds to come back.

the pv setup you are using could also have something to do with it as well.

thanks guys! i'll give it a try, hopefully something will change. i'm using a 4081 passthrough at the moment...but just a standard 4081 e cig is what i vape on the go. waiting for my upgrade : ) super stoked! just need to find "the juice". and it wasn't that there was no flavor just that the tobacco flavors that i heard described as super bold came through almost tasting like chinese tea...which isn't bad just unexpected i guess. they were all new cartos so i just wasn't sure if i should have let them steep a bit, it was a brand new shipment. i'll wait a few weeks and see whats up, thanks for your replies : )

Frisco is pretty potent... I can't get down with it ;-) I'd guess it's your equipment as Billherbst suggested... not a 4081 hater ;-) but if you just quit smoking... seems that a little more power would serve you well... not sure what you can attach a 4081 to that will make it scream louder. Maybe try a 510...

As far as upgrades go... I paid $28 to smartvapes for their bunyip box mod... 2 14500 batts for another $9.99 and it was a really nice set up with some great kick and power... a couple guys here on ECF also make Box mods for as little as 19.00.

All day vapes... you'll find yours eventually...
See what your friends who love the camel /turkish blend like...

Here are some suggestions for camel turkish blends or similars with all-day-vape appeal:

Casablanca from BWB
Love From Above from Primevaping (not a turkish blend, but I mistook it for one)
Turkish Tech from Digitalcigzz

These all have nice tobacco overtones with smooth, slightly sweet velvety undertones and are all pretty well liked juices by many...

I am on Indian land
When you went to Gourmet Vapor, did you do the Design-a-Juice thing? You can do it to make a little sample, to see if it's like you want it.

I did, and in my ignorarrogance, I assumed that as a 50 year smoker of Marlboro Reds, and the occasional enjoyer of a few nights out with Gauloises, not to mention being one of those people who actually inhales their Cohibas when I'm lucky enough to get one, my ideal flavor would naturally have a REALLY HIGH percentage of tobacco, and just little smooshes of those flavory things, right?

Well. Um. I was wrong. Oh how wrong. The Weapons Grade Cage Match Xtreme ...substance... that I "designed" for myself is a testament to the virtually indestructible nature of the bottles used by Gourmet Vapor.

Go back over there and make yourself a little bottle of 100% Latakia, then come back and tell us about it.

(The story does have a happy ending, though. I found that if I put just one drop of my um, "design," into a condom, then fill it up with stuff like vanilla and almond and caramel, then put a little bit of that into another condom that has been filled with stuff like vanilla and almond and caramel, the resulting product will enable the user to puff it and retain important and needed throat tissues).
