Okay, I purchased some ego cartomizers from cignot, these exact same ones: eGo cartomizer

My problem is I don't have a syringe, so I've been filling them by dripping into the threaded end. I can get about 25 drop in before the juice starts leaking out the mouthpiece end, at which point I pop off the mouthpiece cap and dab up the excess juice. My problem is I only get about 3 hits in before I get a foul burning taste and from that point on nothing I do will fix the problem. Is there anything I can do to fix this short of buying a syringe and filling as instructed?

You probably will need a syringe to fill them. And unlike most I think the sharp type is far better for this job than the blunt needle. Why? When you poke the needle into the dry filler the first time a blunt needle will easily go through it and get down deep so you can fill a little, draw the tip back up a little, fill a bit more etc till you get near the top filling hole. You need to keep an eye on the OUTSIDE section of the carto as well. Thats outside the juice tank but inside the carto. Its where the air draws up around the outside of the centre tank.

Bakc to the sharp needle - the second time or third time you refill the carto a blunt needle can sometimes not go through the filler, but push it down compressing it. Once that happens, you canhardly get any juice into them before they overflow into the air chamber. And thats no good.

I think you may find that filling the way you have been the juice goes through the hole onto the atomizer coil/wick and some may soak into the carto tank but some/most goes into the air chamber. When the atty wick drys out - foul taste follows.

There are some good videos and tutorials on filling and caring for these cartos. Could be worth a look. Good luck.

They aren't in the same league as the CE2 for taste. They're a bit tricky to fill, easy to overfill that is. I find they don't hold as much as advertised, but still last a good while between fills. Very airy draw when fresh, but tightens up a lot after 3rd refill. As I said above I find them very easy to compress the filler inside and then they are useless.

Upshot - good but not great. There is another 2.5ml eGo carto I put a link to in Katya's Burning Carto thread, but you probably already seen it.

Thanks much. And yes, I saw your other post.

Here are some helpful links if you're interested in the anatomy of an eGo cartomizer (see posts 2,3, 5 and 6). I tried them and can't recommend them. Filling is a pain, even with a syringe and a sharp needle. Dripping from the battery end doesn't work. Even if refilled properly, they don't last very long. Every single one I tried developed an unpleasant, plastic-y taste. Not worth the trouble, IMO. There are better and much more user-friendly cartomizers for your 510 batteries. I like Boge 510, both 3.0Ω and LR (2.0Ω).

I may be wrong, and don't have experience with a variety of carto's, but the ones I do use (prefilled, boiled and dried) I drip along the outer edge from the cap side. I usually get 15 drops, (depending on the fluid, since some runs thicker). Ones I have overloaded seem to die or gurgle and then I get a fluid taste in my mouth. Those that die, I have tossed (but maybe I should re-boil them and try again).
It seems filling from the battery end, gets fluid on the connection, which isn't the best idea. Yes it can be paper toweled off, but it's a mess.
I haven't tried a syringe. Since I have them, I might try em (I shoot up with B-12 once a week). They are real fine tipped, so I am not sure they will work, and they are short.

You see, I get most of my carto's for free through the company I work for. I have not as of yet ordered fresh new ones, but plan to.
