I'm still new to ecigs, learning a lot here! A few days ago I decided to only use 100% vg juice. Didn't notice anything different but today I received my first rba & have been using a 50/50 blend initially, not wanting to risk losing the good vg juice.

well, almost immediately I felt a tingle in my throat which turned into aggravation & soreness. Kept vaping for another hour & then switched back to all vg juice & now my throat feels fine.

Is this a good indicator that I may be sensitive to PG? I'll experiment for sure as 1/2 my juice stash is 50/50, just thought it interesting that certain side effects were immediately noticeable & unpleasant. In the past I probably associated this with throat hit.

I'd say its the PG. I have a friend who had the same problem. He switched to 100% VG and is fine now, although he experimented and is ok with smaller amounts of PG. He says a 70VG/30PG juice is ok for him. If I had that problem, I'd be looking for that ratio where I could deal with it. I don't like pure VG, no throat hit, weak flavor... lots of vapor is cool, but its the least important of the three.

I'd say you just aren't used to it. Have a sip of water every few puffs, and within a few days you won't notice it as much/any. Doubt your truly sensitive as in having some sort of reaction, it's just drying your throat. Most of us need to drink more water anyway...

Course you may end up preferring vg anyway, but knowing you can tolerate pg is nice. Oh, and IME, once you get used to PG, you can go all VG for a long while and still switch back to PG with no readjustment needed. Kinda like cigs, eh? They weren't the easiest thing to get used to initially, but very easy to fall back into after a quit attempt!

I went though the same thing. I thought I was sensitive to PG because I had a sore throat for a few days, so I ordered several samples of 100% VG. I absolutely hate the 100% VG. There is zero throat hit, and the feeling of the vapor hitting the back of the throat and going down into my chest is what does it for me. I went back to a 70/30 PG/VG mix and the sore throat went away after a day or two. I think some people just have to get used to it. I'd experiment more with PG before you decide to cut it out altogether.

bobas says it's 100%vg, but it's super thin. I'd say the flavorings that make it up are contributing a lot of either pg or etoh. etoh hits the throat differently than nic/pg/vg, so I'd guess that what your feeling from boba is alcohol... or maybe a hint of cinnamon?

Boba's being thin??? My boba's bounty is extra thick. Even thicker than other 100% VG juices that I have

You mentioned your breaking in a new RBA? I have read some reviews from different authors mentioning a break in period.. perhaps this may be an issue... Also not sure what flavors your are vaping.. and what your previous set up was. Some flavors I have read and Im no expert are supposed to be an irritant. Perhaps your new RBA is much more efficient and you need to adjust to the new experience.

When I upgraded my PV and got a more efficient vape I found that I had adjust water intake. Found this out by reading the write up bigsmke mentioned on the post above, great info..

Best of Luck!
