Me and my boyfriend started vaping on New year. It's has not been a month yet, and I already spend around $500 dollars (2 person). It's definetly over my budget, I was planning to buy the starter kit and just play around and just get juice, but then i brought too much after that.

So far this what I have purchased:
(2) JOYE 510 starter kit (I didn't know where to buy these in the beginning and ddin't do much research, so spend around $50 dollars per starter kit) Then I started researching after I received the kit because I kinda of like it.
(1) 510 PCC
(1) JOYE 510 PT
(2) 510 Boge Carto (pack of 5)
(1) JOYE EGO PT
(5) JOYE 510 carto (pack of 5)
(2) RIVA 510 kits (Coudln't resist after trying the JOYE EGO PT and the awesome battery life comparing to the JOYE 510 and the low price on at LIberty-Flights)
(1) JOYE Mega Carto (pack of 5)
(3) EGO -T atties w/ 2 packs of tanks carts ( didnt' try these yet, just ordered them last nite)
and a bunch of juice and little miscs (drip tips.. etc)

Wish I had find ECF before I purchased the JOYE 510 (and the accessories), then maybe I would had save more money. I don't regret having the JOYE 510 they do look better for the size when you walking around in public, but I wouldn't had mind if i just started w/ the Riva 510. If I did i probably would had save around $130.

So is this normal for the first month? How much have you guys been spending? Me and my boyfriend use to smoke about 1 carton a week each. Boyfriend gets cheap ciggy about $40-45 per carton and he use to pay for them. Now that I"m ordering the PV things online.. I'm paying for them. So it seems that I'm spending alot more hahha

Well, it's normal for plenty of folks around here. :)

I don't think I've spent that much total in 6 months, but I started on an extremely tight budget. So I got started on the cheap, and kept vaping on the cheap - mostly through DIY'ing juice and doing trades and PIF's on the forums.

But most people do find that as they find what works for them, their spending drops. For me, it's a GGTB mod with LR 510 and LR 306 atties. I'm done playing around for the most part.

On the other hand... some people keep experimenting indefinitely and trying everything under the sun. There are people who spend more on vaping than they ever did on smoking.

But you certainly don't have to. I only spent $50 a month on smoking (like I said, I was on a budget - I bought cheap bulk rolling tobacco and rolled my own ciggies). And I started saving money after about 2 months.

I saw those and they look so interesting but my boyfriend thinks i'm crazy w/ the PV thingy. He told me STOP SHOPPING!!! Wait till we finish with what with have and dead then buy new stuff again. I was showing him the bottom feeder mods on YOUTUBE and said that so cool, and he said he should take my lappy away so I won't shop anymore.

 Wow!

Now I don't feel so bad about the $137 I've spent (since New Year) lol !!!

Well, you are paying for 2 people's vaping supplies so I guess that's not too bad...

My Wife and I budget $100/month and have more-or-less held to that (birthdays and xmas not included ;)). I'm actually in a position to keep us both vaping on about $40/month now that the excitement has settled, I've learned how to use the equipment we have, and I now make much of our own juice. I still love to grab a couple bottles of pre-mixed stuff from my favorite vendors though.

I'd say you're just being enthusiastic ;). It looks to me that you've already made your 510 kit obsolete, as you may very well closet them in favor of your eGos. You may want to slow down or you'll be up to your knees in $100 mods before the end of the month.

I don't blame your boyfriend... maybe he should take your credit card too ;).

I don't think you did anything other then go over board a little. Really, the natural progression with the 510 is to go to the ego it seems so all you did was bundle it all together! As far as equipment goes your set really. I would set a juice budget though but make sure it's high enough to get enough juice for the month... speaking form experience here. Make sure you have enough Batteries and chargers to keep the ship rolling and I didn't see a 510 PCC on your list so that would be a really good buy and it's not that expensive. Later on when you feel more secure you can sale or PIF your 510 equipment to someone who needs it.
make a budget and all will be good.

AB :D

I spent that much on myself in the first month! Trying out different pv starter kits and tons and tons of juices. I probably had around 150 bucks in hardware and the rest was juice. It was new, it was exciting, and for the most part it still is hehe. I have curbed that for the most part now. Once I finally found a juice that worked for me it has really started to save me money. I was spending close to 50 bucks a week for cigs. Now I am mostly just buying maintenance juice and attys and got it down to around 50-60 bucks a month. So that is substantial savings. Although, I think my juice intake is going to rise since I am helping my brother quit smoking, so I figure I will be buying him some juice till he can afford it himself.

yeah,I'd bet that most peoples initial purchase winds up being a waste as they learn more & get better equipment, but, instead of looking at that as a waste I just look at it as being worth the $$ cause it got me to quit... factoring in that & the fact that your feeding 2 I'd say your not doing so bad... hell I spent close to $200 the first day at a mall kiosk & everything I bought there was replaced in the short side of 2 weeks time... but all things considered I'm not sorry one bit... it got me my start, & that's the hardest part...

I def spent more than I had planned for the first month but from what I have seen, it's very common. I'm done buying equipment except atty's as needed (I have 4 right now but rotate them). I have spent probably about 250-300 myself in the last 2 weeks that I have started. Most of it was to make sure I have what I need and don't fall back to analogs.

I've also been monitoring my juice usage for the last few days to see how I would fare in that arena. I think in 2 weeks, I've bought about 200ml of various juices because there was just so much out there I wanted to try and didn't know. Over the weekend, I only went though maybe 3ml of juice which really shocked me as I felt I was hitting it heavy. So for me, I have (I think) just one more juice delivery coming this week then I'm done probably for the winter. So it'll break down to be about the same for smoking in 2 months for me (180/month) but the largest expenditure was the equipment. I spent about 200 total on all my kits, parts and supplies.

What worries me now is the juice, I did buy alot of samples and I'm not really sure how much juice we are really using. Also I haven't really find a juice that I think is the one yet. Ordering juice samples can cost alitle for each bottle but it adds up. In the beginning when I just had my kit w/ carts, I wasn't using as much. Then when I purchase some cartos, it felt like my juice was going faster. It scares me sometimes thinking if i don't order more juice I might run out.

I am not going to tell you how much I have spent n the last two months! One suggestion is to get an Ato-Mizer from Nhaler just got mine took me 5-10 minutes to make my own atomizer! Should be able to pay for it's self pretty quick. That and a variable volt device should see me set except for the juice.

Maybe just get a couple drip tips and do your sampling that way. You should be able to tell within half dozen or so tokes if that flavor sample is going to work out. That'll save using so much juice and the hassle of cleaning out all your carts if you don't like the flavors.

You're doing just fine ! Yes, its a lot of money, but there are 2 of you which does make a difference. I have a couple mods but I still use my 510 stuff too so you've bought nothing that needs to go to waste. Put the breaks on hardware at least until after you've found your favorite juices.

You'd be amazed at what some people manage to spend in their first few months of vaping. Beleive me, there are many that have spent much more than you. I've spent a lot building a stash in my first few months, but now I have what I need and am managing to spend very little right now which will give me a change to catch up to what I'm saving by not smoking.

An average of what people use in juice per month is 3 ml a day so about 90ml per month. Some more and some less. If you buy some samples you're not thrilled with hold onto it right now. Your taste may change later or you may find other flavors to mix it with and find you really do like it. Even if its not your favorite it can come in handy if you find yourself short waiting for more to come in. Yes, it can feel more expensive, but in the beginning buy in the smaller bottles (3ml, 5 ml, 10 ml) until you know you like the flavor. It may be less expensive in larger quantities but if you really don't like it you'll feel like you've really wasted a lot of money.

Welcome to the world of vaping !!!!!!!!!!

i used to spend alot. it took a few months but i found both equipment and juice that definitely work for me. i have 150ml of juice on the way which will probably last me at least 2 months so all my expense will be is $9 for cartomizers maybe every 2 weeks.

yea it cost some bucks but i wouldn't trade that learning curve for anything. honestly, it's alot of fun.
