Perfect! That's the goal, right?

It's really very common in the beginning to ask two questions, I know I did-

Am I vaping too much?
It's this too good to be true? Something this good and easy can't really be OK, is it?

You aren't vaping to much if you feel good and you aren't smoking. Especially in the beginning. And yes it is that good, so enjoy it! We're so conditioned to feel horrible about smoking that it's pretty natural to question it. Obviously it's probably better to do nothing- not smoke or vape. But for those of us that couldn't quit, this is the closest there is. If you want to taper off on vaping or reduce nicotine down the road, do that. Just don't do too much too soon. Get off the cigs first and enjoy!

Yes, you hit the nail on the head with those 2 questions.
My wife decided to quit right along with me when I started vaping, and she has taken it up as well, but she kept asking me if this was really OK to do. She would say: "But there is still 'smoke' coming out of your mouth"
Since I did my research I was able to convince her of the fact that this was not 'smoke', but merely vapors.
It all falls in your second question: 'This is too good to be true'. How can something like vaping that simulates a very bad habit (smoking cigarettes) be so 'good' for you.

I think I have her convinced that vaping is not bad for the health, and she has joined me in our endavour.

oh then I think you are vaping too much... sorry i should have asked you for clarification. you're vaping over 3 packs a day as it is :( You should try a much much lower mg concentration per ml if you're gonna continue to vape that much. But give it some time.... maybe you're trying to overcompensate because your body is going through the withdrawals from all the other toxins found in analogs.

That's ridiculous. The average a person vapes is anywhere from 2-3 mg to 5 mg a day. Different pvs use different amounts of juice. There is no real proven correlation between the amount a person vapes compared with the mg of nicotine in a juice. There's just too many variables. People's level of addiction varies and that can't even be determined by the type of cigarettes they smoked.

I tend to agree with you here. that statement somewhat scared me.
I vape 2 cartridges of my ego-T (B) per day, I think they are 2 ml ea. at avg strength of 18mg nicotine. Seems pretty average to many vapers on this forum.

Yeah, I thought I'd be vaping too much on a constant 24mg, especially since I've always been a bit sensitive to nicotine OD'ing as a smoker... But I vape almost constantly all day long and I haven't felt any of the ill effects yet, which surprises me. But, I do know from smoking when I start to hit that point so I can stop :)

maybe i should put a disclaimer in my footer that my posts derive from personal opinion and preconception. But all in all, this is a good way for everyone to add their 2 cents. I'm glad you don't agree with me, but I wish your explanation wasn't so vague and open ended. I'm trying to find some sort of footing on my daily intake so I'm definitely not satisfied with your statement

And as far as going simply by feel alone, isn't satisfying to me, because you can certainly elevate your nicotine tolerance to unnecessary levels if not regulated in some coherent manner. I have an issue with this.

You told this person they were vaping too much. According to polls on the board, his consumption is fairly average.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/polls/153112-how-much-juice-do-you-use-per-day.html

I hate to see someone made to feel overly paranoid and reduce when they're trying to get off cigarettes. You might have smoked for 10 years. This person might have smoked for 40 years. Even then there's no way to really determine. My mom for example smoked for 60 years - light cigs about a pack a day. She needed 36 mg and she vaped a lot to get off cigs. Once she did that she reduced her nic level and the amount she vaped naturally.

I don't think anyone here is really qualified to tell someone they're vaping too much. Like I said there are too many variables. We can be an expert on own own habits but not someone else we really don't know a lot about.

fair enough, maybe I should stick to being a noob a while longer. I'm just eager to understand as much as I can, and to be honest , this is the noob forum , and I was expecting to be rescued if I was way off with my statements. Might not be fair to other noobs but I find speaking my mind and being corrected/challenged to be the most effective way to learn...for all it's worth I believe CorTed is better off in reading all this as much as me.

Oh no, don't do that! I'm sorry if my comment came off as rude to you! I should have left off that ridiculous comment.
Your remarks and suggestions are just as valid as anyone else is. Maybe more so, because you know what the person is going though. Even after a few months it's easy to forget. I enjoy your posts! Anyone that takes the time to try to help someone out deserves credit!

I want to encourage you both to continue with honest replies.
I get what xiotaki is saying and it really makes sense to me as I am very concerned to not increase my nicotine habit by taking way more of the stuff even if the delivery method is much safer. On the other hand I also feel that since I am just starting this after 33 years of smoking 1-1/2 packs per day, it is important to continue even if it may be high in nicotine, as this is the first time in my life that I have actually succeeded for this long.
reading as many posts as I have over the past few weeks it is also clear to me that with my 4ml/day I appear to rank average in nicotine intake.
My goal is this:
1. puff away on my ego-T as much as my body needs to untill I feel I am no longer ever wanting a sigarette.
2. Limit the nicotine intake by lowering the strength as time goes on.

Hopefully at some point not needing to vape anymore either......

That would be in a day.

from all the responses I seem to be doing just fine.
This vaping is unbelievable!!!
I love it

I was a 40 year PAD Kool smoker. I go through about 3 ml of 24 mg per day.

OTOH, I am much more confident that I could quit vaping than I ever felt about smoking. I sometimes go for hours without vaping or thinking about it. When I wake up in the morning, I make coffee first. That would have never happened when I was a smoker.

This whole thing is going to be very individual. I smoked between 1 and 1.5 PAD of Marlboro Red 100s. I figured I'd need a strong juice to get me off cigarettes, so the first stuff I ordered was 36mg. Way, WAY too strong. I cut back to 18mg and was fine with that until some serious personal stuff came up (I found I had a sudden and urgent need for a good divorce lawyer) and 18mg wasn't doing it for me. I went to 24mg and have mostly stayed there. At some point, when things have calmed down again, I'll probably go back to 18mg. I have some 18mg juice that I use frequently, but when the feces hits the rotary air circulation machine, I go back to needing something stronger.
