My boss used to smoke cigs during the allergies time a year to help do away with the itchy soar throat, and itchy eyes.

I used to get hay fever really bad as a kid, and along with that some asthma. I started smoking around 15, and never really had problems with either of them from that time.

Yet, I did always get the headaces from my allerigies. It now seems after a year of not smoking cigs, and using the e-cig my allerigies are worse than they have ever been.

I almost bought a pack of kools to fight off the itchy throat almost soar, and itchy eyes today.

Am I the only one????? Or are the allergies just really bad this year.

It is one of the "Smoker's Paradoxes" where smoker's allergies are suppressed by smoking. It does not happen to everyone, but there have been studies proving that not all effects of nicotine are harmful.

I have more allergies than I can name. I stopped smoking the day after Easter and I haven't had any allergy attacks all year. Really strange. I am used to popping claritin, zyrtec etc in the morning all through spring and summer and into fall. Not this year, is it due to vaping?? No clue but I hope I stay attack free for forever.

Have to answer this query.....smoked for over 60 years, since I have put those nasty smelly things down, my sinuses and allergies have been behaving, guess the Doctor was right...stop smoking and you will discover your air passages clean up nicely.

My sinuses have cleared up since I switched to vaping. I too now sneeze more and noticed that many non smokers I work with sneeze all the time. Alot more than I used to.

My wife said that I sneeze more because now that my nose isn't filled with mucus, I need to sneeze in order to clear natural dust and stuff that builds up in my sinuses. It couldn't get there before cause I was always plugged up.

Maybe the allergy thing is something like that. Maybe the pollen and such couldnt bother you because the mucus that builds up in a smokers sinuses blocked it before. Now it has a clear path.

disclaimer: I am not a doctor nor do I have any evidence to support the above. Just a thought to offer.
