Am I the only one getting burned out? Why can't this be easier for me?!?

I don't know what the deal has been for me, vaping has never been easy. I'm still fairly new, it's been a couple of months now since I picked up my first e cig, but I have had issues from the very beginning. I've made it work and it was fun for a while, but I'm getting tired!

When I first started, I had the cig a likes like most people, then I moved on to Ego Twists with Protank 2 Minis, but I kept getting a really nasty metal taste and found out it was dry hits and quickly realized that bottom coils weren't for me. I moved onto Carto tanks and LOVE(D) them, the taste is great and never a dry hit. I have used top coils and they're 'blah', not great, but not terrible, they're usable and I do use them now and again b/c that's what my husband uses and it is easier to test flavors with then a carto, but they're nothing compared to my carto tanks!

As of right now I have 3 Sigelei Zmax's, 2 minis and one V3, an Itaste VV V3 (and some egos still) and carto tanks. I've been ok, don't love filling/refilling b/c it always seems to take forever, especially here lately! Idk what I've been doing wrong but it seems like I've been dealing with a lot of leaking lately! And honestly, my sig says I've said X amount of money, but I've spent probably triple that on what all I have! I AM BROKE! The juices that I've LOVED are now just 'blah' (again with the 'blah'), granted I do still have a couple that are still good, but I'm always wanting something different, just can't find anything else I like (so far).

It just seems like every time I'm finally happy with everything, finally have the right devices and flavors, something has to mess up! I do LOVE my Sigeleis, they've been great (for the most part), the only issue I've had is, one of them misfires sometimes, but it works and it's more annoying than anything and that's only one of them so I'm still very happy with them. It's like I can REALLY enjoy it all for about a week or maybe even 2 and then out of nowhere, some crazy issue pops up and I have to figure out why and how to fix it.

As I said before, I'm just getting tired :( I have 2 fractures in my spine and Fibromyalgia and I'm only 30 years old! I have 3 kids (13, 9 & 5) and most days I hurt too much to be the mom I want to be, much less have time to be glued to an uncomfortable chair trying to figure out why all of a sudden my juice is just 'blah' (sorry, only word I can think of) and why my friggin tanks keep leaking or flooding! Don't get me wrong, I'll deal with it, I refuse to go back to cigs, but why can't it just be easy, even if it's just for a while?!? I have a feeling I'll end up having to get new tanks and/or cartos, but I just cannot afford anything else right now!

Sorry this was so long, I'm just so frustrated :(.

Really sorry to hear you're having vaping blahs right now. I think as new vapor you do hit that snag though, I know I did. Could be many things causing it such as moving past the honeymoon phase where everyting isn't exciting and new anymore and those little things that popped up early without causing any frustration now make your blood boil. Could be that your tanks, with several months on them and probably a lot of filling and such, are starting to show signs of tired seals and are getting floody/leaky. With juices the answer could be as simple as changing tastebuds which happens when you quit the cigs.

Hang in there, go back to a juice you know you like and your favorite topper and just use that for a while. That's what I do when I get frustrated and so far it has worked well.

We're here for you, vent as much as you like! We are a community and part of why I love this place is everyone is so eager to help support the others however they can!

Hang in there! We've pretty much all gone through those periods where it's seems we struggle with this or that. I've heard that there are times (the 3's) that cigs want to emerge. It usually happens 3 days in, 3 weeks and 3 months.

And then the dreaded vapers tongue. Blah! When you're able financially, get some more of the things you have had the best results with.

Good luck, keep at it and this will pass. :nun:

Smoking is easy because there is nothing to do but grab one and light it. Vaping can be a pain in the ...., especially when you have other things to do and don't want to deal. I have found that my very first setup (V3/T3) is not my best but is my most reliable and that is what I have with me when I don't have the time or energy to screw around with my equipment, JUST GIVE ME MY NICOTINE!

Hang in there. We get it.

Thank you all. I do love this forum, that has never and will never change! I have gone through doubts/concerns and the one thing that has always got me through it and helped me keep at it is you all.

RoseB, I use SmokTech cartos. All of my Carto Tanks are a month or less old.

I HONESTLY think (and hate to admit) it could be my fault and you all may know that answer. I think what's happening is that I've gotten 'cocky', I think 'I know what I'm doing' and get in a hurry. Yesterday was the WORST, I just couldn't get anything to go my way, I was in a hurry and was watching a movie with my kids and noticed that my juice wasn't tasting right so I went into my room and sat at my desk (where all my stuff is) and thought I'd do a quick carto swap, well I ended up pouring my 'Butterscotch' tank into my 'Gooey Goodness Cake', I was supposed to pour my Gooey Goodness Cake into the bottle (thank you fibro fog!), not Butterscotch, so then I had to redo BOTH, so then I was in a hurry b/c I was missing the movie and my kids were wanting me in there and I think I overfilled the tank and that's the one that ended up leaking AND flooding so I had to change it again later (at midnight later!).

I need new cartos, I know I do, but I can't even afford to buy ANY right now! I've been cleaning and reusing my cartos b/c I'm broke! I need a job just to pay for this new habit, but thanks to my friggin back, I'm not allowed to work or lift more than 5lbs!!! Stupid genetics!!!

hello and sorry I did not read the entire post, I will tonight after I get home from work but wanted to say...hang in there....
I went through some tough times as well and if it weren't for the lovely people here I would not still be vaping now (it's been 9 months since I'm completely smoke free)

I had started with an ego battery and that was all that I had because it was all I could afford, it died on me and I was stuck using cigalikes for a while that I bummed from my mother in law...it was a sad sad time...but altsmoke was awesome replaced my ego and then the replacement died...once again they were great with support and replaced it but they only had a 650 in stock instead of the 1300 in orange...so they sent it to me asap so I could vape on :D can't complain when they were nice enough to go above and beyond their warranty :) come to find out it was a default charger that wasn't from them but they sent me one of theirs instead once we finally process of elimination and figured out what the issue was....
I love vivi novas but every time, every single one seems to leak so I've given up on them and am stuck with bottom coil tanks...
so yes I do understand, it's very frustrating when things just aren't going right and being on a tight budget...i'm a single mom of 2 kids (yes I said mother in law, she will always be that to me even if her son drives me crazy :D ) and living right above the poverty level...
fasttech.com was a godsend for me as for vaping else I'd not be able to afford to vape, they sell dirt cheap gear and the quality is hit and miss, just have to read reviews/discussions and ask here in the forums before buying to make sure it's a good product, then play the monthly waiting game for shipping but at the prices it is worth it for me :)
and then well my fellow ranters and lurkers support groups here in the forums are just great....
so keep positive and it really does work, once you get past all the trials

if you need someone just to vent to feel free to pm me, I promise I will read it and not judge or anything ;) :) and try to point you into the right direction

but know there are people here, though we don't know you, do care and try to help

anyways off to work I go and I hope things look up soon for you.

I've never been able to efectively clean cartos, this could be a reason why your favorite juice just tastes blah. Another thing, do you use a tank filler tool to fill your cartos? Trying to slide a carto without a filler tool through the top cap has a tendency to cut the o'ring in the top cap and breaking the vacuum, causing your carto to flood.

I hear you. Type 1 diabetic myself, and the neuropathy that comes with it. Good days and bad days, IYKWIM. I did accidentally fill a clearo that had watermelon in it with coconut once, and I was pi**ed! Turned out, I now mix watermelon and coconut. Hang in there. Your worst day vaping beats the hell out of the alternative.

I feel you, after the excitement wears off the tinkering can get old. I was just saying last night I was happy with my vape set up, after reading your post here's why. I have ALL my gear in rotation with different juice flavors dedicated to each tank. ALL of it is working. That won't last, but when a problem pops up I can just move on to the next without having to deal with it right then. I can save it for when I am in the mood and have the patience to fix it. Using dedicated tanks I can refill a similar flavor without cleaning every time. I try to refill at night because I usually have more time and patience. I get mad at myself for chasing all the new, shiny stuff but I'm trying to use it to my advantage the best I can.

evic-hypertank-custard
MVP2 - nautilus - Deadly Sin (my favorite so it's in a big tank that I never put anything else in)
VTR - iclear30s - vanilla (this travels with me so I keep juice I know I like in it)
evod - protank2 mini - fruit
evod - protank2 mini - trying a new flavor or one I know lingers because this tank will need cleaning fastest
vv vw - iclear 16 - something different than above that I know I can vape for a while because I hate cleaning this one.

Keep the faith! When I'm aggravated at vaping I think about this - I don't stink, I am not stinking up my house, I can vape anywhere, I'm not standing outside in the cold, I am not tasting tar, I can breathe :)

Your are not alone. Vaping is frustrating to all of us from time to time. I can't help with finding the right eliquid due to how subjective it is.

But you made the right decision to switch to carto-tanks. Not that I am trying to make you spend more money, but if you have a good tank with good seals, they generally never leak. I have a Phiniac glass tank that is over a year old with the original seals and they have never leaked. Plus they provide an extra set of seals with each tank. If you don't already do this, when inserting a new carto into your tank, put some eliquid around the outer top part of the carto to help it glide into the tank and not damage the rubber seals.

Thank you! I do like FastTech, I've only ordered once from them, but it was here in 2 weeks.

One thing I get tired of hearing, 'wow, you're one of the very few people that have that problem'! If there's 99% of people who don't have any problem with something, I'm one of the lucky 1%! That's my life with EVERYTHING, my health, PAYPAL (lol), anything electronic lol.

I keep saying I'm broke, but I have a lot of expensive stuff, I just want to explain that I was lucky enough to decide to make the switch right around tax time lol.

I think I am feeling like life is really beating me down right now and this is just one more thing that I can't do right. I feel like maybe I shouldn't have gone down this road knowing my finances, but I just wasn't strong enough to quit smoking any other way, not this time. I don't regret it, I do enjoy it for the most part, I'm just so tired of hitting walls!

I had a few bad vaping days recently. So I charged all my batteries, sat down and prepared some clearos. Tested the clearos, made sure they gave me a good vape. Those that worked best, I put on the batteries. Then I sat most of the batteries on a shelf. Now they're my "break glass in case of emergency" units.

Gonzi - I do use a filling tool, I didn't think I'd need it at first, but it is wonderful!

CoalYard - I know what you mean! You're right, I'm so glad I'm not smoking anymore! I wouldn't change that part for anything.

Tmrr - I have 4 tanks set up with different flavors and I have NO idea why I didn't think to just leave it alone! I have this need to fix everything as soon as they happen and that's something I'm going to have to change if I want to keep my sanity! 'And I'm not smoking around my kids!' That's what got me started and keeps me going.

WV2win - I do need to get better tanks I'm sure. I do love my tanks, they're pretty lol and they don't break me! But they may not be the best.

Maybe one of you can tell me, how bad are they?

I've totally gone through this. In fact now when I find a flavor of juice I really like I fill up a standard bige with it and keep it sealed and tucked away for when these periods of discontent strike me. Then I at least have something that works and gives me my fix before I totally lose it on whatever device is pissing me off at the moment :)

Also I am a Type 1 diabetic (since age 5) and suffer from chronic nerve pain so I can really empathize with how much .... you already have to deal with everyday and why having your setup poop out can really be the "last straw" of a crappy day!

Bad vape days. The worst. I know that feels. I'm a tinkerer by nature, so that has helped me get through the doldrums much more quickly, but when you're stuck with something that just doesn't work right that day, it sucks. Vaping, in its current iteration, is just prone to be more difficult than smoking. You're fighting liquid. Constantly. This is why I don't do my own plumbing. Yet, I subject myself to it with vaping. Strange. I've graduated to RBA's, and IMO they work far better than the clearos and cartos that I've tried in the past. BUT, if you're not mechanically inclined, they may be more of a hassle that you want to deal with - even though after you've worked through the learning curve they're pretty much set it and forget it. Baditude uses carto tanks almost exclusively, and swears by them. I think it's just getting to the place where you're intimate with, and dialed-in, to your devices of choice. It may take some time. It took me a good month to get my RDA setups working correctly, and even longer for my Genny style RBA's. Now I use Kayfun style tanks, which require next to NO fiddling, but you still have to build your own coil and wick. I don't know if this helps, but I wanted you to know that everyone has bad vape days, and sometimes it requires more work than you feel like doing. BUT, you're not smoking, and that's the most important thing.

The pain is a huge part of it, I won't lie. LIFE is hard, having non stop pain and trying to be a mother and wife, wanting to be a GOOD mother and wife, sometimes I feel like this is one more stress I have to deal with. You're the second person that's said (in this thread) you have type 1 diabetes and that SUCKS! I'm sorry you guys have to go through what you do. I had a really close friend that passed away 1 year and 9 days ago from type 1 diabetes at the age of 29! But he lost his job and insurance and didn't tell anyone he couldn't afford his insulin :( I can't help but think how happy he would be though, knowing I was trying to get healthy.

Thank you guys though, none of you really know me at all and you truly make an effort to make me (and everyone else) feel better, I LOVE that about this group of people!

I actually got a RDA a couple of days ago with a kit I bought off the forum, I'm going to my local shop today to have them set it up for me. Idk that I'll like it or use it, but they said they'd fix it up for me. I have done some rebuilding a little, after only about a week or two into vaping and found I really just don't have time, energy or patience for it, but if they can build it, I (think) can probably do the maintenance, or at least take it back for them to do it lol.
