I cannot watch any of these shows. Boring, and not reality by any means. There is very little I do watch, no cable, so I watch PBS most of the time or the local news. Just cannot stand regular t.v. shows anymore. Good thing is, I spend a lot less time staring at that box now. Seems all this is on is "reality shows", "judge shows", "talk shows", and very few "comedy shows." A trip to the library seems due. :p

I must admit I watch Hell's Kitchen even though I know it's mostly phony. Kitchen Nightmares is a little more legit even though there's still a lot of theatrics involved.

I watched this a couple of times. Disappointed that it is not more realistic. Having worked in restaurants most all of my young adult life (not now though, too old and out to pasture, lol), I know that more interesting drama goes on that what this show does. In fact, this show has almost nothing to do with the real food industry at all.

thank you what happened to good scripted tv like married with children or home improvement

Al bundy is one of the best characters ever on tv. I watch the reruns every morning on tbs and have been through the entire series 5 or 6 times by now. My gf even got me a no ma'am t-shirt for christmas.

I usually can't stand tv, there's very few shows I watch, my current favorite being the (soon to be cancelled) the cape on nbc.

I think I truly lost my enthusiasm for tv about 10 years ago when mystery science theatre and millennium were cancelled.

Its odd seing that I'm only 33 but id love to see more classic stuff like the twilight zone or leave it to beaver on, I can watch those all day.

Like others said, none of the networks run the types of shows that their networks name themselves after. How many shows about people squirting out litters of children can the learning channel run? How many shows about blue collar jobs, pawn shops and storage unit auctioneers does the world bleeping need?

Although I agree with you, one small defense for Hell's Kitchen is an episode I saw where Ramsay challenged the contestants to stop smoking since it ruins the palate, and a good chef must have a good palate to taste the food they're making. Don't know if this is done every season or not since I'm not a regular viewer. It did seem like they all smoked though. Is that a chef thing? Food service is high stress so everyone smokes?
