Like the majority of people here, I researched researched and researched before I bought my first PV.

Everyone is told the 510 is great, but the battery life sucks, so get the eGo.

We all don't listen, we buy the 510, and soon enough we order our eGo kit within a few weeks.

Well, I on the other hand, used my 510 for a good 5 months before making the switch to the eGo (which just arrived yesterday, I love it by the way).

So, my question is this: Am I the only one who feels the need to plug my eGo into charge well before the battery dies due to the fear of it dying right around where the 510 would die? Haha.

It's this feeling that I can't shake that it's just gonna die and I'm gonna be eGo-less for 2.5 hours, even though the ego lasts most people all day.

I actually started with the eGo :D I've been happy ever since. I actually just lucked into a 510 kit and waiting for the battery to charge as I type. I also have an order in for a MonkeyBoxx VV mod coming in the next week or so - so, I'll find out about the reduced battery lifespan soon enough I suppose.

I used the 510 for over a year, so I had lots of batteries, and even had a 10 slot bettery charger, so I always seemed to have had batteries with me. I recently went to an eGo and I find that I tend have at least 2 fully charged batteries. I have stopped trying to guess when the batteries will die and just toss them onto the charger after about 30 hours of use. These 1000 mAh batteries are something.

I find that I charge my ego batts not because they are dead, but because the voltage drops off so much and so fast that they seem weak. I can tell a big difference between a fully charged battery and one that has been used for a few hours.

Donnah, I think thats an indication that its time for new batteries.

After 8 months, I noticed my first set was taking longer and longer to charge and had a noticeable drop off in flavor and vapor production. I rotate 4 batts thru out the day and it got to the point where they were taking over an hour to charge.

With the new batts, its about 35 minutes. I can go 24 hours or more of heavy use with no noticeable drop in flavor or vapor.

Cody, if you bought a complete Ego kit (with 2 batts and a charger), you should have no problem. Just charge up both. As soon as one starts diminishing in performance, switch to the other one and put the used one on the charger.

It should take much less than 2.5 hours to charge anyway if you are not using the old 510 charger to charge them.

Actually, eGo batteries stop working when they drop in voltage, so you do not even need to worry about that. I am not sure if the new 510-T auto batteries do the same, but they seem to in my experience.

All my Ego batts start to drop off noticeably and shortly afterward I get the blinking light that indicates charging needed. Maybe you are noticing the drop off and charging them right before they notify you. Try waiting a few minutes just to see if you get the blinks. There's nothing wrong with charging them before they die. There's no memory associated with li-ion batts.

*sigh* I feel like the 510 lovers group is slowly dying. I love my 510s and would never switch. I have multiple attys and batteries. I like the fact that the eGo has a longer battery life, but I decided against it. Longer battery life would make me constantly chain-vape, and I do that enough with my multiple batteries. ...sorry I don't want to offend the eGo users :lol: but yeah the 510 group is slowly dying o_o;

I have to confess I never gave the 510s a chance. My first kit was a crappy RN4081 that I got a tobacco shop. I couldn't stand hitting and finding a dead battery so often. People say their cravings are worse with something not cigarette sized but, getting that not good enough hit so often sent mine through the roof! I got on here, found out about the eGo and went to that immediately. I never even thought about going cigarette sized again and I doubt I ever will.
