DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
Ok, I have had my eGo for over a month (ordered from Nicotine Nirvana). Got two full starter sets for 75 bucks. Everything going GREAT. No hardware problems.
I keep one eGo on charger at all times, while vaping the other. I drain the atty every nite (sit it upside down on paper towel after blowing out the battery end). I keep lots of ejuice and fresh carts around.
I have just ordered a cylindrical mega atty and mega carts from Cignot (should arrive today).
So I am happy as a pig in mud, vaping away, chain vaping when I aint at work.
I have a backup-Modern Vapor Sidesho, in case my eGo's all of the sudden die. But i DONT want that to happen. I LOVE MY eGOs!!!
I am wondering.....how long before the two batteries I have die? Or how long before the two atty's die? (i am a heavy use vaper)
I want to prepare a survival kit, and ensure that I am NEVER without a functioning eGo.
Any experience on how long the parts last?
What should I have as "backup"? I mean, of course, it would be nice to have lots of everything, but the bare minimum "must haves" for back up. Will batteries die before atty?
p.s. i have never "cleaned" an atty. i know how to, from all the tutorials, but even my sister, who has a Janty eGo and has been vaping for over 2 years has never cleaned her attys....and has no probs.

Well, I had a batt short after a month, but that was because it got debris in it from a mega carto that died in a BIG way. I should have cleaned out the connector after. My fault. So that would be one piece of advice if you have an atty/carto fail big time. As far as parts go, I think it is a good idea to keep a couple eGo mega cartos around, unused. They are cheap compared to mega attys/carts. I just bought four eGo mega attys for 34 shipped, including a cone from myfreedomesmokes.com using the code "smoke" for 40% off. I'd grab a couple of those while they have them. They have nega cartos for cheap also.

when you say cartos are you referring to "cartomizers"? i have never used them, but from what i understand, they are a cartridge and atty in one, and can be bought filled or unfilled. what is the advantage of them to the two parts?
gosh i sound like such a newbie and i have been vaping since 2008...but the ecigs have improved so much, with so many new things!

Yes, but the eGomega cartos are special. They hold over 2ml of juice(like the mega carts), and produce very good vapor. I'd say they produce more vapor than the eGomega carts/attys, but not by much. I have switched to carts, as I got a bad batch of cartos. The first two cartos I had lasted a week a piece. I still plan on buying some mega cartos in the future for back up.http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/good-prophets/104597-ego-cartomizer-q-refill-thread-gp.html

that is AWESOME!
amazing how ecigs have improved. i remember in 2008 how many battys and attys i went through, and many suppliers. so many "duds", and these were with the "top" companies.
this eGo is definitely a POWERHOUSE! ecig on steroids!

I have 4 eGo batts that I got back in Feb, that are still going strong with heavy usage!

E-Cigs of Houston has the blank mega cartos too. My 1st died prematurely, and the 2nd I tightened too hard to the batt and the atty stuck while the sleeve or body turned. I got it unstuck and pushed the atty back in, but it probably could use a shot of super glue or epoxy to hold it.

I like them. They draw better than regular atty's/carts w/ polyfill. Cooler than an atty too. Only out 13.50 for 5.

The bad: the mouthpiece is flat and when tightened to the atty the batt switch is not aligned correctly with the mouthpiece. I have never been able to get 2ml into them either-they start dripping out the bottom (overflow) at about 1.5ml. Still beats regular carts, tho.

I've got a 900mah battery and extra 510 attys too.

I find I can get the mouthpiece alligned to the button, as long as I am carefull. Just tight enough to make contact and align up. I've gotten 2ml in it, but def not the 2.5 advertized.
