The concept of dripping without dripping is what appeals to me. I admit a dna 40 squonker would be fantastic but the ones I've seen fetch a hefty price of about $400.

That's insane!

The gepetto elite v2 is a dna40 squonker. Going for $500 and a waiting list from the east to west coast.

Just to add a note - due to ongoing interest, the variety in "toppers" for REOS has expanded a LOT. Reosmods now offers a bunch of alternatives to the RM2, for people who want to build dual coils, or have more airflow for lung-hits, etc. And there's an thread here, where every week or two, a new popular atomizer (Veritas, Dark Horse, N22...) gets converted (usually clones of good quality, but sometimes authentics) for Bottom Feeders.

Thank you for the link! That is something I could get on board with. A BF Veritas or Magma would go a long way to helping me like the Reo more.

Reading through the threads and I keep seeing a recurring theme..... Reo reo reo......
am I the only person who doesn't really want one? I understand the concept and see the attraction in the way of flavour of dripping yet ease of a tank system, simple and nothing to really go wrong, but I just love being able to get the same vape every time no matter what the charge on my battery is, is it bad that I'd love a reo but with a regulated power control?

Nope. I'm happy with my Brass Monkee RDA and Stingray mod. Both of which were generously donated to me. They work wonderfully.

I've never really wanted an unregulated device, the only one that I saw that seemed doable for me was a sort of hybrid.
It fed straight battery, except it prevented battery under-run.
Other then that, I've actually been wanting to get the parts together for a DNA board of some sort, since they're relatively close to me and I know how to solder.
It's making the box that is annoying for me.

I run one Dark Horse on a Reo LP Grand. No way that stays at home, it comes everywhere with me.

The Reo can take the beating work gives it and i refuse to vape on something i dislike, just to keep it "safe". It's meant to be used and abused and i'm happy to oblige!

Chowderhead dark horse? Any idea if its the tobeco version? I know tobeco did a bang up job on it. Works so amazingly!

Yeah - the CH one - no idea which one, but it's a boomer of an atty if you like that kind of vape. I've been running a couple of them with RxW and i couldn't be happier. Even the myopic can build on it - the post holes will fit a baby's arm!

Yeah it really is a beautifully crafted atty! Now you're giving me that shinyitis :( That makes my wallet sad.

I was worried about the battery draining and not vaping at the exact same voltage or running the battery down too low.... but, I impress myself when I can guess the battery's voltage now... and I usually only change out a battery when it's convenient, or Im going out for a long day....and notice almost no difference in vape performance, except the first 5-10 hits off a fresh battery- that why its important to play with the build- that is the way you "regulate" a mech- adjust the ohms, wraps, wire gauge.. coil placement...ect...atty, wicking... :)

I decided to buy myself a reo for my one year vapeaversary and bought a variable voltage Reo on the classies. I wanted to stick with vv because all the experience I had had was with vv. It was on ok vape, just not rock my world type of thing. I then decided to try one of the metal mechanical Reo's and some of the 14mm diameter atties and was much happier. Learning to build coils, coil placement, wicking....it was all pretty easy to learn. Then one day on a whim I bought a 22mm diameter atomizer and it changed everything. This thing just blew my mind, I didn't know vaping could be like that. So it's not just the Reo by itself, it's what you put on it that also matters, a lot, and in some cases can make all the difference. Put a so-so attie on a Reo and you may decided you aren't into Reo's even though it's not really the Reo that makes the experience so-so. Of course "so-so" is going to be different for everyone, so some experimenting with different things is required.

There are a few thing to consider, not just the Reo, atties/wicking material/juice etc. Combine the Reo with something that works for you and you'll never use anything else.

Great post.

These little things have potential . . . need to fit better coils in, just finished them. GDeal mechanicals (see the Modding Forum).
