I have to start by saying that I'm generally a "worry freak" about almost anything...
OK...so I started vaping last weekend but stopped because I thought my heart was racing a bit. It could've been the coffee I was drinking, the 24mgs I was vaping, or just me. I went back to the patch which is 21MG and I feel OK (no jitters). But I miss the vaping no doubt.

My question is- do you think that this could've been a case of me worrying too much? While I was vaping, I was thinking about things like "wtf am I vaping?"- "is the heated wick a safe thing to be inhaling", etc....I would love to cut it with some Glycerin too but I know I'll be asking myself things like "why am I vaping something that came off the skin care shelf?".
The MGs between the patch and the juice is only off by like 3mgs so I think I have the right dose of juice (24MGs). Should I go according to the MGs that are on the patch to determine how much I should vape?

Oh yeah, you guys/girls are great on this forum!!

Regards,

V8P

Heart racing is a classic sign of a bit too much nicotine. Nicotine is, after all, a stimulant.

I'd step back on the nicotine a bit and use a lower concentration. Hopefully, someone more knowledgable than I will be able to answer your question about how the patch compares to the e-cig in terms of the nicotine, but my gut reaction is that there the way nicotine is absorbed into the skin will provide a different absorbtion rate than inhalation.

I typically suggest that new e-smokers start off with low or medium nicotine concentrations then adjust from there, perhaps spiking with a bit of high if they feel the craving. I was a former 2+ pack a day smoker, and I found that vaping high nic solutions as my main vape gave me headaches. When I stepped back to medium with an occasional spike of high, headaches disappeared.

hi mate,

lets put it into perspective. when you smoked a cigarette did you constantly worry about the 4000 plus cancer triggering chemicals? chances are you did, and rightly so.

but really you could smoke a lump of lead thats wrapped in a rubber glove and it would still be better for you than a cigarette! vaping contains pretty much completely harmless ingredients when compared to a real cigarette so stop worrying, smile, and live a happy life!

the racing heart could be caused from using a nicotine strength that is too high for you but from what you told me i would put it more down to anxiety or a mild panic attack.

stop worrying mate!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I kind've figured it could've been just me thinking crazy thoughts and worrying too much. Good point IGetcha...I never really thought of it like that.

So should I just cut the dose in half with some Glycerin to see how it goes? I only have 24MG juices at home. I have a CVS next door so maybe they carry the stuff I need?

Thanks again!

Don't mention that to Figurehead or Walrus. One of them may take you up on it. You see what they were doing in the General forum? 8-o:
On topic, my racing heart thing actually went away after I quit smoking and started vaping. I'm on the 24mg juice too.

Yup. :) Now, it probably sounds like common sense, but when you cut your liquid like that, you will lose some taste. I personally would take a relatively small amount of your 24MG to cut with the glycerin in case you don't like it.

Now, if you really want to start having some fun, you can try cutting your 24MG with glycerin then adding some flavors to it. If you have some time, you might want to browse the DIY liquid portion of the forum. Fair warning, though . . . there's so much information there, you might find yourself losing several hours. . . or days . . . or weeks . . . . :)

DIY e-liquid - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

If you go to a Michaels or some craft place that carries cake/candy making supplies, you can probably pick up your food grade glycerin there, along with some flavorings. (NOT ALL FLAVORINGS ARE APPROPRIATE TO USE, SO READ THE THREADS CAREFULLY BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANYTHING!!!!!) I use LorAnn flavorings. :)

lol I got to the "24mg I was vaping" and lollerbunnied! it was so funny, I was reading the OP post in my head with a hyper active chimpmonk voice reallyfastlikethemicromachineguyanditwaslikeIwasdrinkingcoffeetoo and this thread is AWESOME!!!

try getting a chiropratic treatment, there is this thing like the thorasic area of your spine. Its actually your back but everything from the front is connected at your spine. Everything in your chest is connected there, lungs, some nerve clusters, heart, some muscles, tendons and even some veins/arteries? Anyone take anatomy?

When the thorasic region gets messed up (stress, sleeping wrong, getting punched in the spine) I get racing heart too or single flutter.

So if you are not having a heart attack, which you are not since you posted that, get a chiropratic treatment!

UMMM duh use 11mg juice! Do you want ur heart to esssplode!
