wait, what?

i don't remember anything stating the batteries and charger were american made. where does it say that?

Actually it is on puresmokers website. Am sure it was an oversite. The sentence on front page is

All parts (Minus the Atomizer) were designed, manufactured, and tested here in the United States of America.

Which would include batteries and charger.

Just so true and sad at the same time, lol.

Yep. But if you know DW his next post will be batteries ARE part of the Prodigy. Even though we all know what Steve meant

I think what Steve meant is that all the parts of the Prodigy itself are U.S.

Ahhh... now I see why they won't let you in Emerald City DW! lol :) You are a pessimist! No pessimists allowed there! Hah! This is also the reason you are the secretary of the Vapers Club and will join us in our meetings with legislators this week. I believe having a Devils Advocate is absoultely necessary when you are fighting the devil! You rock man... maybe someday I will come to dislike you as much as some others do... but for now you are okay in my book! Just stay off Steve's back... I am a Puresmoker fanboy ya know! lol :)

Steve is now from TN so English is probably not his first language. I vote for oversight on his part.

WTF ?!?!?! LOL ... I didn't even see this until I saw Spikey had posted! LOLOL

Still a culture shock here, that's forsure. Don't meet many people that have zero southern accent like me and Jo do ... BUT, I'm sure we sound strange to the majority of the population. I have started using some southern terminology, but we are only 2.5 months in to being here ... Wait until next year ... I'll be able to write an entire paragraph, and you'll have no idea what i'm sayin ;) Just need to stick around the hunting/fishing group here! LOL

LOL ... Nice to see DW helping ya out Spikey!!!! I'm not entirely sure why people don't like DW, although, I haven't researched the guy. He has been nice to me and I think I even helped him with a question the other day and he was very nice! Either way spikey ... you'll be getting the Prodigy V1 #00001 ;) The very first produced and shipped :) I hope you enjoy !!!!

You need people on a forum to "Stir the Pot" and DW certainly fills that position:shock: I hope to meet the "man in the candy cane pants" at a meeting soon :D
What are you talking about? I asked a simple question and a bunch of ignotards come in talking smack and it is MY fault?

Seems to me that truckdrivingmouse was the one that couldn't control his incessant trolling instincts.

I thought Steve had found an american company that were making these batteries. Excuse me for asking.

No, don't excuse me, instead .... when you don't know what you are talking about. The verbal ........ from a small minority on this board is insane. It is like being surrounded by a bunch of elementary school children.

Steve, thanks for the follow up, I did figure that out. When I looked over Tenergy's website I found the following statement...

"With our global technology and service center in Silicon Valley California and volume cost effective manufacturing in China, we offer superior turn-key power solutions with NiMH, Li-Ion, Li-Polymer, NiCd batteries, chargers and emerging power technologies."

So yeah, your right, it is an American company but they do the manufacturing in China.

Unlike people like truckdrivingmouse and wv2win who spend their time blabbering about other peoples mods and trolling threads with their ignorance, I have actually been learning about the mods and building my own.

I thought you had found american made batteries and asked about it because I would have liked to buy some to move forward with my own mods. I think the natural evolution of my own progress is to build something with dual RCR123's with a voltage regulator next. Since I do not own any of these batteries I am going to have to buy some. I would have purchased American made if you had found something that escaped my notice.

Please don't let a few trolls give you the wrong impression about me. I said nothing bad about you or to you and I had no bad intentions. Its just a couple of folks that are not me that can't seem to exercise self control.

I appreciated the knowledge you helped me with the other night and do not want any hostile feeling with you. Please understand that.

No hard feelings DW. I viewed your question as sincere ... not badmouthing or insulting in any matter :)

Now as far as finding a USA Batt manufacturer, if you EVER happen to stumble upon one, make sure to shoot me a PM/Email! I think a majority of battery research, engineering, etc... is done in Silicon Valley, then outsourced to China for obvious reasons!

I'll make sure to update the site tomorrow to reflect the battery confusion!

EDIT: I will also go on to add ... I decided on tenergy for a couple different reasons. I scoured some of the flashlight forums, reviews on batts, etc... and here is what I saw.
1. Buying in bulk, and not having to wait weeks upon end on shipping from China mainland itself.
2. DOA batts coming out of Tenergy are almost ziltch/nada/nothing.
3. Support and my account rep is stateside, and I'm happy dealing with someone who speaks on the same level as I do, not to mention, I am also supporting the further research of battery technology within the USA

Half the reason i even posted was to "Stir the Pot" too. I agree Steve, that production of most electronics/batteries is only financially feasible "overseas", yet the warehousing, design and distribuition is in U.S.A. I looked around for rechargeable batteries on all my devices and have yet to find manufactured in the U.S.A. I too make take the mod challenge, after fixing my niece's PSP with a magnifying glasses and soldering gun...I might now be qualified:D
