So I have an eVic vtc mini and it shows the amp draw on the main screen. When I was vaping I checked the ohms law calculater and it was dead on. Then I accidently knocked my device over on the table. I went to vape it and checked the ohms law calculated again and the amp draw was off by .1 every time I would vape it. Is that normal or is it the coil because the coil is almost shot? Of I could get any advice or suggestions that would be great. Its still vaping fine but the amp draw was spot on and now it's off by .1, any help would be appreciated. Oh 1 more thing the battery is fully charged as well.

Had a similar thing happen to a device I dropped. It turned out to be, in my case, that the atty tank was contacted when dropped. Cleaning the 510 connectors, making sure the 510 connector in the device was still grounded properly (510 not loose in the device), and resetting the atty onto the device resolved the difference.

you accidentally knocked the device over on the table
after that
the amp draw was off by .1

1: not a surprise
2: how much is .1 ? you mean it changed from 20.2 to 20.1 ?
20.2 to 20.1 is less than 1% of a change.

and did the amp draw go up or go down?
and was that in temp mode or wattage mode?

Thank you for replying to me and it either stays on the correct draw for a quick second then just bounces .1 down, my friend who works at a vape shop said it's normal and it was probably doing it all along I just never noticed it. Again thanks for replying to me now it makes me feel better. One more quick question for you, if you know anything about the evic vtc mini, do you know if it has reverse battery or polarity protection? I can't find it anywhere that it says it does and my friend who doesn't know my device accidently put in a fresh battery upside down but I don't even think it turned on so I know it didn't fire and everything is working fine so I figured it had it but just would like to know for sure if you happened to know. Thank you for the help!

I don't really know anything about the evic vtc mini, but joyetech is a very top of the line company with a long reputation in the vape industry.
Any regulated mod that doesn't have reverse battery/polarity protection nowadays would be considered a piece of junk.
$53.30 Authentic Joyetech eVic VTC Mini 60W TC VW Variable Wattage APV Box Mod Kit - 3ml / 0.2ohm / 1-60W / 200-600'F(100-315'C) / 1*18650 / Euro plug adapter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
its not mentioned on the fasttech site, neither does it mention short circuit protection; but that sort of thing is pretty much the norm.

If your friend tried to turn it on and it failed to turn on, then that would be your confirmation that it has reverse battery protection.

All of my regulated chips, when I attach a battery, something does show on the display for a brief moment even though I have not turned the chip on.

(but there have been chips in the past that did not have reverse battery protection; the dna boards come to mind.)

Oh by the way it was in wattage mode and it would go down by .1 and sometimes be right on at the start or just bounce down and back up to what it was supposed to be but most times go right back down and be off by .1

If your device reads down to 1 decimal place, then a value of 20.049 could display as 20.0 or 20.1 so it is a normal thing for a measurement on any device to seem to jump/change by 1 on the last digit.

Ok thank you for the info. He put the battery in because he is used to negative side up but my device turns on when battery is put in device and it didn't turn on to my knowledge and I know he didn't fire it. I mean it would have only caused a problem if he fired it and it didn't have reverse battery protection right? And also on the ohms law calculater it would say like 10.29 but only read 10.1 on the amp draw

When I looked at it last it was dead on though so it's working great I just am still learning have only been vaping for going on 5 months but I love it and feel so much better. I just want to get as much info as I can especially with a device like this with everything it does and displays. I really appreciate your help though and I'm glad you took time out to help me, Thanks edyle.

Thank you for the advice as well I completely missed your response but thank you and it seems to be back dead on once again. Appreciate the advice!
