I purchased your AMP tank on the classies, and I just want to say that after using it for a few days with one of he Cisco-Spec attys, that I am VERY happy with it. This thing takes my
vaping experience to a whole new level.
I bought it with the intention to try to run a Terminator TT RDA in it, but the "standard" length tubes it came with were too short to accommodate the bulb in the Terminator.
Luckily I had the presence of mind to order an XL tank tube from Avid the same day we "sealed the deal" on the classies.
That tube arrived today--and I gotta hand it to the folks at Avid--they have VERY good customer service. I had asked them about ordering a set of replacement o-rings (don't need them, but I wanted to have a spare set on-hand.) They included a set of spare o-rings for FREE with my order, and there was a hand-written note on my invoice. The folks at Avid are a REAL class act, and have my undying loyalty now, that's for sure!
I, too am wondering about third-part replacement tubes for the AMP. I've contacted Bedazzled and IBTanked, but neither of them know the ID measurement for the AMP's tubes. And my digital calibers are somewhere packed away in my storage unit, so I can't measure my tanks accurately.
As soon as I find my calipers, I'll measure the tanks, and then maybe we can have more luck finding a source for thicker-walled tanks. Getting custom tank tubes made won't be cheap--IBTanked told me that they would be around $12 each (but they have a minimum order of 3, for custom tubes). Also, IBTanked doesn't fire-polish the ends of their tubes, because fire-polishing melts the glass and potentially takes the dimensions and shape out of spec, AND it weakens the glass, unless you then anneal them (which would ad substantially to the cost.)
Once I get my calipers found, I'll publish the measurements of the stock AMP Tank tubes. I've already found several sources for thicker-walled Pyrex and Kimax tubing in the approximate size, but until we measure the stock tubes accurately and precisely, I don't want to order any lengths of tubing. But my plan is--after talking to two of the biggest glass carto tank vendors--to just buy the tubing myself, and make bunch of them. I've done glass work before (basic lab glass and lamp-worked beads), so cutting some tubing shouldn't be a big deal. I may lap the ends of the tubes with polishing compound, but the folks at IBTanked pretty much talked me out of fire-polishing.
Stay tuned--I might even have found a source for colored Pyrex tubing, which would look REALLY sweet on an AMP tank...
