An empty cigalike to "simulate vaping"

I'm thinking of doing this and I wondered if anyone has tried or pondered it. I currently like vaping as it aids me in my continuance of quitting smoking.

But I don't view vaping as the end for me. I want my end to be quitting vaping. I want my end to be just inhaling pure air through an apparatus that simulates a cigarette.

So my strategy is to get a cigalike, vape it till the battery runs out, then just keep it to inhale air through it.

Has anyone tried this. Do you foresee any hiccups in this plan that I haven't accounted for?

I doubt he means to keep powering it. I imagine you will just get board sucking on a tube. How about licorice? As t least it will taste good.

You're right. I don't intend for it to stay powered. I intend for the power to run out so I'm basically just sucking air through a tube. I'm excited to see if this works, and I'm going to get my disposable ecig now :)

Cigmund, I think you will find that if you taper down to 0% nic, you will not have much trouble quitting vaping.

FWIW, I just tried not pressing button on my endura prism tank.....the mouthpiece is the closest to a cigarette there is out there........I just get air. Okay, maybe that will work for you as a "pacifier".

I would go to 0% nic first for a few weeks or month or so first.......

I made the mistake of vaping 3% nic that a friend gave me and felt like I was back on the dependency wagon again....that is how nicotine affects ME. I wanted to start vaping 3%, 6%, even 12% again as soon as my bloodstream/body got "wind" of that nicotine again.

So, won't be doing THAT again LOL

Thanks for the advice. Lol, it is like an adult pacifier basically, but in that case so are cigarettes and ecigs to an extent. They "pacify" us. There's something to be said for tapering down, and it seems especially popular and successful in regards to vaping and nicotine level. But for better or worse, I kind of have an all or nothing attitude. I could not taper down my cigs. I had to quit cold turkey with that. I think I'm gonna try that with vaping too and just move straight to inhaling air essentially from a "plastic tube". If my cold turkey plan ends up being a mistake, it's one of those mistakes I gotta experience for myself.

Smoking and vaping are very difference, hence quitting one is very different from quitting the other.

But carry on and do what you think is best for YOU. And good luck.

By the time I got down to 3% I was forgetting to vape .... By 1.5% I was forgetting to vape for most of the whole day. At 0% I sometimes didn't vape at all for days at a time.

But my body is not your body and my metabolism/brain is not the same as yours. Was just sharing my own travels.

Many years ago they used to offer a cigarette placebo and I am not sure if they still sell them. I tried using it to simulate having a cigarette in my mouth but it did not succeed in helping me quit. The only way I quit was to go Cold Turkey and vape. Now with my Nicotine level at 3MG not vaping is nothing more than not vaping.

Most of my "addiction" is centered upon my need to inhale & exhale something into my lungs.

I had tried the nicotine gum/patches, prescription drugs, and hypnosis in my attempts to quit smoking, and none of them worked because they didn't address my addiction to inhale/exhale either smoke or vapor. Someone advised me to carry a plastic straw with me to inhale thru it like a cigarette, but that didn't work either.

I've dropped my nicotine in e-liquid from 18mg to 3mg, and I am pretty sure that I could go zero-nicotine at this point, but I do like a little nic in my vape.

I don't really have a 'hand-too-mouth' behavior often attributed to smokers, but I still very much need to inhale/exhale vapor into my lungs. I'm fine with that.
