An interesting build question. What's going on?

So let me walk you through this:

I was changing my cotton wicks in my dual could build in my Phoenix V10 RDA that I use on my K100 mech. Each coil is 8 wraps of 28ga Kanthal. 0.76 ohms! The coils are kinda wide so I started fiddling with them and smushed them together into some micro coils and raised them up a little to meet the air holes. They look nice, fire evenly and quickly. I was like "well thats cool but the ohms will be too low for my 10amp batteries". So, I put it on my ohm meter:

0.76 ohms. So, I threw in some wicks, juiced it up, and wow. Big tasty clouds.

So I'm confused. Micro coils don't lower the ohms? Then why would you build normal coils ever? hmm. Someone with some knowledge lay some on me. I mean, Ive been puffing for an hour or so and the coils aren't even darkening the cotton like my old coils. Have I found a holy grail? Let me know.

Well just a guess BUT if all you did was to smash the coils together you didn't really change the length of wire and (just a hunch) those coils were probably pretty well coated/carbonized so chances are that they didn't short out the wraps when you smashed them together.

A true micro coil is wound tighter from the start hence using less wire. Less wire = lower resistance.
