An interesting experiment

So I took apart an old Dual coil and made a wick hole through the sides. I then made up a ss coil and pushed it in through the bottom so it stuck out the holes on the sides just a little. I wrapped it in gauze and put it in a tank.

So I ended up with Throat hit that could kill me without burning flavor.

Just a quick experiment for fun. Might look more into this later.

Did you get vapor out of it? That's usually the thing with mesh, huge throat hit little vapor, big vapor no throat hit. Your concept is good. I'll keep watching

There was little vaper. For this to be useful, it would need some airflow managment.

Yes, if your airflow coming from the bottom, open up the air holes on the 510 connector to around 3/64. It will be a looser draw but vapor should come out.

Already a very loose draw. I have tried tightening with no change in vapor production.

Hmmm that's weird. Maybe a small tube to go right up to the coil from the bottom?

I stuffed a Dual coil carto plug up in the bottom to bring the intake air closer and it works quite well now. might keep messing with this, but as it is it is FAR too hard to rewick and coil.

So after messing with this for a while, I now have a bottom coil genesis. I like it.

I have made improvements. It's working pretty good, but pretty hard to build. Think upside down CE2 in a tank. I will update if/when I think it's good enough with a full breakdown.

This is working the best. I need to slot another tube, but with all of the catro condoms patching up the holes this is a beast at 2.2ohm.
Here we have a coil made with 34 gauge nicrome and 30 gauge wire from RS.Here is a cut down ce2 center post going through a dual coil outer shell and grommet. Here is a fully assembled inner part ready to get shoved into the carto tube.Fully assembled. No leaks (yet)

So I've been rocking this V3 for a while now and it is my favorite atomizer that I have. I had to cut my nic in half to be able to vape constantly on it as the hit was so extreme. Also switched from 80/20 to 20/80 pg/vg and it is kicking out the vapor. I had some small leaking/condensation issues with the 80/20, but I think it's due to being too lazy to make the tube just right.

Not too shabby for some stuff otherwise headed to the trash!
