I went to change out my cart at work today and grabbed out a fluorescent green MountDO and began to screw it on to my green battery, but it didn't want to fit. So, I put away my green batt and grabbed Black Beauty (my 15 sec gloss black manual) and tried again... Still no luck?!?!?!

Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the threads were not only messed up, but missing entirely. Not messed up, but missing.

I just thought I'd share, is there a collector's market for carts? This thing would be worth a fortune!

Someone else had that problem last week if I remember. Leaford said that hand machined allows for some to get missed, or something along those lines.

Stuff happens bbut I'm sure it will get taken care of.

They are rare, like a misprint on a baseball card. If you look it up in Beckett next month it will be up 3 bucks.....

Sorry for those that never collected sports cards.

NICE!,
that brings me back to the day when i collected (still havem' all too)

reminds me of the classic,

Frank Thomas rookie card, one was regular, and one was NNOF.... meaning "no name on front"

the NNOF was (and im sure is still even more so) worth quite a hefty sum!

I have the regular one, and back in the day it wasnt worth a damn..... but i havent looked at a beckett in about 16 years!!!!

Oh yeah, bought my dream set of '87 Topps when I was 12. It now comes in at a whopping 8.00 due to everyone in the set now doing steroids. No more cards for me.

Anyone remember the Billy Ripken "FF" card. I can't print what it actually said or I'd be in trouble with ECF management.

*lol@adrenlynn 'ruining' cart by being... competent.*

Yeah, big dummy and not realizing the collector's value, I just reached for the tap-and-die set behind me and threaded the darned thing. [sigh] Story of my life. I'd probably get a baseball card worth a bazillion dollars and use it for a drink coaster...

When I was 15, I had an original Marvel Superman #2 in mint condition, inside it was a slightly used authentic Confederate $100 bill. My mother threw it away with the rest of my comic books ... grrrr ... no idea what either would have been worth ...

They are worth alot more because so many Mom's threw them out, just like all the other collector toys and comics. ;)

yanno, i imagine you sitting there in a welder's mask typing and vaping with huge machinery looming behind you, in your underground lab.

Not too far from the truth. My old lab was far more like that because it was a lot larger. I've lost almost 50 linear feet of lab bench top now. [sigh] The room is smaller but brighter. There are, however, Gargoyles overlooking my desk and lab tables. Just a half dozen of my favorites right now.

The welding stuff and large machinery (and the remaining lab tables) are out in the garage now. Not even a dedicated shop anymore. [sigh]

I was sent to boarding school in 1960. Had a killer comic book collection along with some worthy autographs. My Mother threw all of that out plus plus plus. She passed away 2 years ago and I still haven't forgiven her for that.

Kinda sorta :D
