Relatively new to e cigs. I started last summer when my wife and I, after trying my brother's blu, decided to get our own starter kit. We used it on and off, but not regularly, until recently.
I use it pretty regularly now, and just ordered a halo starter kit which is en route as we speak. I've been experimenting a bit with some direct dripping on another 510 atomizer using my blu battery and some Johnson Creek Red Oak e juice my brother gave me. I have also been researching different equipment, juices, flavorings, etc. and watching a lot of online reviews.
I want to start mixing my own flavors eventually, but for now I'm going to stick with the Halo sampler from the starter kit and my leftover blu cartridges and cartomizers.
I smoked analogs (methol and clove) for about 10 years, roughly half a pack a day for the first 8 years, starting when I was 18. Then reduced to two cigs a day for a couple years, then quit (mostly). Though I would still smoke when I drank, usually "bumming" smokes off my analog smoking friends. I hate the stank of cigarettes, smoke, and ash, but I don't really want to quit nicotine, though I can and have gone weeks or months without it. I just don't want all the tar (soot), particles, carcinogens and other chemicals that come with commercially treated tobaccos.
I am enthused by the whole e cig concept and industry. I'm not convinced that e cigs are 100% healthy, but I know that they have to be MUCH healthier than inhaling burning tobacco (even without the additives). I'm mildly concerned about inhaling PG and VG vapor, as well as the chemicals in flavorings - all food grade and safe for consumption, but not meant for the lungs. I'm also a bit worried that the atomizer could be burning the fiber fill just a little bit, but overall I'm willing to take the risks that I'm certain are negligible compared to smoking or chewing tobacco.
Anything in moderation. Moderation for cigarettes might be one a year. 10,000 puffs a day on an e cig is probably not recommendable, but unless one totally overdoes it, I'm willing to bet my own health that casual use is probably fine.
