Just registered and I wanted to give you guys a little background of myself.

I have been a smoker for about 12 years (a pack and a half/day Newport/Marlboro Menthol) before my first encounter with an e-cig at a kiosk at a local mall. Being the naive person that I was, I bought one (for $250 ouch!). Needless to say, I got ripped-off, as the batteries did not hold much power (died after a few puffs), and they did not give much throat hit. Went back to the mall to try to return the heap of garbage I just bought to get slapped with a no return policy.

I was a little discouraged after that, and went back to smoking, but in the back of my mind I knew that the technology had promise. I revisted the e-cig after running to a local smoke shop and bought a disposable, and it worked a little better but had the same run in with battery life. I was smoking less, but I really wanted to totally kick the habit. Thats when I decided to do some heavy research.

After much afterthought, I decided I was going to take another risk and bought a kit online from Bloog (I still wanted an e-cig that looked like a cigarette and not a cannon so I decided on a KR808 style batt.). The day that I got it shipped to me was the last time I ever smoked a real cigarette, and I finally found what I was looking for to begin with: a permanent alternative to smoking (since I was adamant about smoking and had no intention of quitting).

Since then, I have tried to reach higher levels of vaping and have tried different variations of the eGo style batteries (Riva/kGo etc.) and cartomizers. My current setup right now is a Provari Mini V2 with a punched LR Boge cartomizer and a Phiniac tank. I am looking to settle down and actually save some money from buying all the hardware, and doing some research on rebuildable atomizer and a simple mechanical mod that will last (Zenesis/Odysseus/Penelope atomizer with a GGTS comes to mind right now but they are always sold out!).

Lastly, I would like to thank all of you in this forum as you guys have been a great help. I have been reading this forum quite awhile now as a non registered member and have been watching Youtube videos of highly respected members of this forum, and you guys have helped me kicked the habit for good.

Cheers to a longer life and continue vaping,

Ramil

Welcome and congrats! Gosh, so many of us made that first EXPENSIE purchase at the mall it seems. The rip-off factor angers me, but it's really a blessing in disguise, cos that is usually all it takes to realize that with something just a bit bigger or better WE CAN DO THIS!

Many of us have a love/hate relationship with the cig-a-likes, but they do serve a purpose. Looks like you are doing everything the right way now!

Yeah I would have to say that in the end the $250 was well spent as it was what got me started vaping, I still chuckle a bit when I pass by the mall and see these kiosk (seems like a different vendor everytime I go).

Going to check out that Super T, I am really hell bent on a GG Stealth but I may never get one, so that might be a good alternative.

Hey, I was a 2-3 pack a day smoker for 42 years....and now I've been smoke free for 1 day...that's right 1 day. But this vaping thing, that I researched here BTW, seems to be the real deal. I won't get into exactly what I bought (Volt), but it is so confusing with all the lingo, jargon, attys, cartos, dipping, dripping,...and all the brands...ya just gotta start somewhere. This place is quite a bit of help...and quite a bit of head spinning.

Grimwald,

With so much product out there being thrown at you it can definitely be confusing (I am still learning what works with what despite vaping for almost 2 years). The Volt is pretty much a slightly more advanced KR808 style battery much like what I started with (Bloog Maxx fusion). I vaped those for a few months until my desire for a longer battery life (eGo). Best of luck to you, the Volt is a good start!
