Since I've been reading this forum I've noticed several instances of people talking about they way they used to do straight lung hits when they used to smoke analogs. Is that common? I only smoked for about 17 years and I started with pipes and moved to cigs but I never even tried lung hits.. it was always mouth to lung. .. it could just be because I started with pipes.. anyway I was just curious.. so if any former smokers can shed some light on this for me I'd appreciate it.

I also did mouth to lung inhale when smoking, so the switch to vaping was fairly easy. The thing I had to remind myself about was to draw SLOWLY, which was different from the fairly quick draw and inhale when I smoked, especially on those very quick smoke breaks. Even after 4 months, I still sometimes find myself drawing too quickly and don't get to taste the flavor. Luckily, after I do it too quickly, I remember to slow down and really enjoy the flavor of the vape.

I always did mouth to lung when I smoked. A fellow ex-smoker at work did lung hits when he smoked. Now I do mouth to lung when I am using my ProTanks and a direct lung hit when using my Igo. I have tried to go mouth to lung on the Igo but the air flow doesn't really work like that. Too airy to take a mouth hit first so I go straight to my lungs.

I'm new here, and I didn't see any of these 'straight lung hit' posts. Just to clarify: do you mean that rather than suck smoke into your mouth, remove the analogue, and then draw down into your lungs, you rather just inhale from your lungs, keeping your mouth rigid, and basically just breath the smoke straight in? I think that if I did that I'd die from coughing!

I've never met anyone who smoked straight to their lungs, so I dind't really understand why people were saying "you vape into your mouth, then into your lungs," because that's the way I smoked (and every other smoker I've ever met). I do understand why people say to hold the vapor in your mouth longer, though, because apparently the nicotine particles in the vapor absorb better through your mouth than your lungs. I think they're too large for the lungs to properly absorb, if I remember correctly.

Good good... I was really wondering if I was in the minority of folks who do.. or rather did only mouth to lung hits on analogs.. I don't really doubt that there are people who do only lung hits on analogs but I guess I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing it wrong the whole time I guess lol :) not that it really matters now.. and like I say I was curious why I'd seen it mentioned so many times here.

I actually vape almost exactly the same way I smoked.. long slow draws then I kinda swirl the vapor around in my mouth (almost chewing it lol) then inhale to lungs and then it's out the nose and mouth to taste it again =)

I've tried lung hits from my igo but between just really not being used to it and still using the stock airhole (which I think is perfect for mouth to lung) I didn't much care for it.. of course I was also using 18mg juice heh

Man, I could hotbox a marlboro straight to the filter in 3 single lung inhales when I had too. When it's blowing snow 70mph sideways in Keflavik, you didnt stick around long outside to try enjoy your smoke!

woah thats pretty wild.. I'm very happy to say that although I've smoked in some sub zero conditions I've never dealt with anything like that lol I think I would have been S.O.L.

I personally do not know anyone that smokes analogs, direct lung hits. That sounds kind of harsh. Mouth to lungs is what I'm used to, even with vaping. I'm not sure whether there is a guide to teach someone how to smoke an analog, lol.

:toast:

I could down an analog quickly when I was short on time, but I never could do that lung hit madness. Maybe smoking menthols made that a bad idea. When I first started vaping I had to use same analog technique, where I pulled the smoke into my mouth to cool it, then inhaled it into my lungs...otherwise I'd cough quite a bit. Since vaping though, I'll do lung hits every now and then but I still find it much more enjoyable to inhale slowly into my mouth and savor the flavor of the juice before inhaling. Some things never get old ya know?

i used to power through my cigarettes, but it was usually mouth-to-lung because i sang in a band and there was a lot of talk about some singers in the genre getting fluid in their lungs from inhale vocals due to expansion of the diaphragm causing a vacuum in the lungs and then too much friction in the throat (or in the case of smoking, the mouth) for them to fill adequately. i do not ever do any lung inhales on holes that are not drilled out.

I've seen this "lung pull," many times. Typically it comes from long time smokers, heavy smokers (2 packs a day) and children of smokers. It's hard to describe but you know that "type of smoker," when you see them pull an ecig. They pull on the ecig too hard and start coughing. You have to explain to pull in with you mouth and let the vape go into your lungs. Smokers converting to vapors want it to go into their lungs because otherwise it doesnt "feel the same."
