Rational comments aside, the title was a friendly joke. :2cool:

I have done hours upon hours of researching from the bottom up about which vaporizer set-up to aim for, and I've come to consider that I want to start out with the "analogue replica" kr8's from V2. Perhaps later on I will convert to mods using LR's, but for now, I'm thinking V2 ECONOMY KIT - V2 CIGS from v2kits.com, with a few WOW cartos from v4L (off-topic question: any recommendations on the flavors?)

My only gripe about this, is that the kit seems to only offer automatic systems (priming and puffing, etc);

I have dealt with a cheap-o 7-eleven automatic build, and it sucked. I won't get into that too much, but it broke within 2 months, and its non-removable atomizer was long burnt (I think the brand was e-hookah or something..).

Back to the kit:
The automatic battery offered seems to only come in standard size... my brand currently is Marlboro's Reds, which are relatively short cigarettes... I want replicative aspects of the analogue...

So, if anyone can offer any advice for users like myself... I noticed they don't necessarily sell manuals that come with the kit (or do they?), and they are standard sized. I added up the price of each part of the kit separately (chargers, battery, cartos), and it equals the price of each part sold separately. I wish to purchase each part separately as opposed to the kit. The only drawback I see is that... the manual isn't sold by itself, but only in the kit.

So my dire question is: What information is in the manual that I should know about?

any info is very much appreciated. I figured I'd just go ahead and ask the question before clogging up a "new person post". I am also limited by $120 total at the moment, since the kit / parts are 60$, some will go into the WOW cartos (unless someone suggests good info otherwise), and the rest into my food costs for 2 weeks on school campus!:glare:

Well congrats on making the decision. If I were you, I would ditch the whole idea of auto batteries from the start. They are problematic for a number of reasons, the most important being if you get one speck of juice in that hole, you can fry the battery. Besides that, it is much easier to get a good drag from a manual than an auto.

I've never dealt with V2 but vapor 4 life offers their own economy kit which I believe you would have the option of buying a manual. I think this kit is about $49.99 (bought one for the wife a few months ago). If you visit the V4L board here, or look at their FB page you can probably get a discount in the neighborhood of about 20-25% depending on what type of sale they are running. Since you are already planning to buy some prefilled cartos from them, I would imagine it would be some what cheaper to combine all this into one single order instead of one from V2 and another from v4l. The service at v4l is outstanding by the way. If you have any problems at all, they are overly anxious to help you.

I'm going to go and click your link now and see what other commens I'd have for you based on looking at it.

Alright have a look at v4l's economy starter kits here: Vapor King Premium E-Cig Kits and Cases - Vape On!.

Note that you can get this as low as about 49.50 which is abouit 10.50 cheaper than V2. Also, note that the price of pre-filled cartos is 12.95 as compared to 9.95 at v4l. Also note that V2 is pretty much lying in their advertising. 5 prefilleds won't last you as much as a half a carton of smokes would.

I hate to sound like too much of a v4l salesman, but I've used their stuff extensively, and it all works well and is reasonably priced. Their shipping is a bit much but is offset by the discounts.

One last thing, I'd get a bottle of juice from them so you can refill instead of tossing your pre-filleds.

cigeasy has a kr808d-1 starter kit for 39.95, includes 10ml of juice.

or include a usb passthrough for 49.95

The Easy E-Cigarettes

or smokeless image's volt kit is 44.95
I don't see manual batteries in their starter kits tho.

I think you can find better deals for 501 batteries than the V2 kits also, shop around.

Yes - even the Vapor4Life kit I saw that said Automatic (when I bought my kit), let you choose manual batteries in the color choice dropdown.

Vapor4Life - I recommend you try some of their samplers. WOW Tobacco Shop contains two of my faves. I also much enjoy their WOW Vanilla. And warning - some tough guys that vape 24mg normally cannot vape 24mg V4L WOW liquids on a WOW carto - some of those liquids have a very sharp edged hit and the heat of the KR808D-1 model combined with the low ohms of the WOW carto (pretty much the lowest ohms you can use on a slim ecig) can make some potent hit. Consider buying one pack of the next lower nicotine level.

You can also try cartos from Bloogplanet Maxxfusion, SmokelessImage Volt, Halocigs G6. I use the blanks from Vapor4Life (the WOW ones) and many like the blanks from Bloog and Smokeless Image. If Halocigs fills their own cartos then they might have some interesting different flavors or their own menthols.

And you will need eliquid. A plainish tobacco liquid or a nice vanilla are good refilling almost any flavor. That will let you get more life out of the cartos while you find juices you like. I recommend 20% or less VG in the WOW cartos (or any tightly stuffed standard stuffing carto). The V4L WOW juices are nice and thin too. I can get at least a week of use out of one WOW carto. Starting my second week right now on this one (and that is 3rd week for me because I vape it 1/2 the time, splitting my time between 2 models)

Backround:
I am down to 3/4 pack reds a day, down from 2 last year. Tried rolling my own (RYO), but I found that I got impatient with my smokes while working and going to school, and just started buying packs again.

Anywho, just got back from a trip to safeway for some groceries, and I am amazed at the number and quickness of the support! Thanks a lot everyone!

@swedishfish: Lol, that's funny - I see myself being the same in my tiny ~200 person campus.. thought about forming a club! just an idea. Seeing there's maybe 1 or 2 other people that actually use vaporizers (Blu cigs... [bleh] Who said that? ;D) out of the ~70 people who smoke.

@jbankston62871: Yeah, I've read enough about automatics, that I wanna at least give manual a try. Thanks for the 411 on v4L! How do V4L's batteries and accessories compare?

@Roach, Wingapo: Thanks for the input. Can anyone else compare the quality of batteries from v2 compared to others, like the smokeless image's? Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Starter Kits specs, voltage, general use, etc.

@dormouse: I have read a few of your posts and comments around here for a while, and you've helped me much (I hate to single out people, but I just happened to always end up using your posts!). I am very willing to try out the WOW cartos from V4L, and eventually mix up my own, but will try the pre-filled ones first. Vanilla and tobacco for refilling almost every flavor - what do you mean by that? Is it hard to go wrong with these two flavors..? I have not much experience at all, so am just throwing questions out there as they come to mind ^^" Would you also suggest V4L kits?

Basically, my aim with slim cigs (not mods / boxes just yet) is very common to others I'd assume: More vapor, some flavor, throat hit (TH?), decent battery (5 minute smoke breaks every hour or so), etc. I think aesthetic things like having a green or purple or blue LED, and not being so long and heavy, are nice things, but I can certainly deal with/without them ^^

Thanks again everyone!

V4L is a kr808 battery and carto vendor. Their stuff works very well and they have good customer service and value for the money. The only down side to them is the high price of shipping and if you are making a small order this could be a problem. As others have mentioned, plenty other vendors sell the kr808, including Bloog, Volt, CigEasy and so on. All of these are also reliable vendors. Smokeless image does have some slight advantage over v4l in that their shipping costs are more reasonable but this is often balanced out by v4l's sales codes.

I just think you'd do better going with them over V2 which has an initial higher cost than v4l, and also has high prices on pre-filled cartos.

Another thing I bet you are thinking is that you'd only be smoking pre-filled cartos. That is most likely not going to pan out for you unless you have lots of money to spend on it. Otherwise, you need to get a bottle of juice. V4L and the others mentioned here have wider flavor selections than V2.

I ordered pieces to make a kr808 from V4L last week. I also ordered 30ml of WOW vanilla and 30ml of Wowboy (menthol) and 5 blank cartos. I didn't order the starter kit because I wanted specific pieces and manual batteries. So far I'm pleased- I've had 1 analog a day, but I'm not having irresistable cravings. Refilling the cartos also isn't a big deal. I just stick a toothpick in the hole to pry off the cap and drip the juice down the insides of the carto.
