FINALLY....after researching all the various vv APVs out there and having my hand hovering over the "Check Out" button at ProVape several times, I took the plunge last night and ordered my ProVari. Satin Silver w/blue LED, extension cap, 2 18490s, 2 18650s, the Tenergy charger and a few accessories (battery boxes, carrying case). It's already shipped, so I should have it before the end of the week, really looking forward to it!

I've been using Twists/Spinners, but wanted more battery life and a more consistent vape. Researched all the Chinese models (Vamo, SVD, Sig ZMax, Tesla, etc.), watched reviews on YouTube until my eyes crossed, read the forums here, etc. and finally decided that the build quality and post-purchase support (among other things) justified the purchase price. I don't want something that I'm going to have to constantly fiddle with and throw away after 3-4 months. So here I sit, stalking the postman out the window for the next few days until my ProVari arrives!

Just one question (so far) - is the Tenergy a decent charger? I'll be ordering something different along with spare batteries (I believe in having backups for backups!), but is it a decent/trustworthy enough unit for the time being?

I may be a vaping snob at times, but I wouldn't use a Trustfire battery (again) nor one of their chargers.

I suggest a Pila (if you can afford it, its the Provari of chargers), or one of the higher end Nitecore Intellichargers or Xtar. You didn't skimp when you purchased the Provari. Don't skimp on batteries or charger.

You get what you pay for.

I read a lot of posts before I bought my provari, and everyone said don't trust trustfire, and several people recommended the pila. Basicly don't skimp on the charger, so that is what I got also. It is $45.00 I think but in the long run its worth it. I have never had any other charger.

Conratz! By skipping over a bunch of junk that will eventually break, you've probably saved yourself some money. I don't have the tenergy charger. So, I can't help you there. After buying a Trustfire charger I just have no faith in, I decided to just go for it and get a Pila.

beat me two day in a row :)

Well I bought mine so I could take it everywhere, except when mowing the grass. Plus with the tatroe tank it should with stand a good fall.

I also bought a Provari a few weeks ago, a mini-provari. I am realy happy with it! The only problem I have with the Provari is that I find it too precious to just take it everywhere with me...

So Tenergy is actually a Trustfire? From reading around prior to purchase I saw a lot of people saying not to use Trustfire or the other "...fire" brand (name escapes me at the moment), but I didn't see much about Tenergy, negative or positive.

My appologies - I had a brain fart! :blink::ohmy:

No, Tenergy has no connection with Trustfire or Ultrafire as far as I know. From what I have seen is the three of them fall into the same level of batteries and chargers.

Most of the battery and charger information that we APV users have seem to come from the flashlight experts forums. The in depth tests come from those websites. The most respected brands of batteries seem to be AW & Panasonic. For our own RBA purposes, MNKE is also recommended because of its superior amperage ability.

Chargers are Pila, Nitecore, and Xtar.

Tracking info received, it's scheduled to arrive on Thursday....man, vapemail brings back that feeling of being a kid waiting for Christmas morning!

I already have rtdvapor.com bookmarked for my battery/charger purchases - thanks for the charger tips, it will definitely be either a Pila or Xtar. I'm sticking strictly with AW IMR batteries, both per ProVape's recommendations as well as everything I've read here on ECF.

Baditude - I wanted to offer you a special note of thanks. I've read all your blogs and many of your posts as I've negotiated my "crash course" in vaping over the past few weeks and they've been very helpful and informative. You put a lot of time and effort into helping newbies and it's greatly appreciated. Kudos!

I got the Nitecore I4 charger and it serves me well. I also picked up Efest and Orbtronics batteries. I was outside near the woods in my Ghillie Suit when the postman circled the cul-de-sac and stopped in front of my house. I'm glad the Gurl Friend was home to accept the package so I didn't have to give up my position. I'm sure my stalking days are not over.

Well, it arrived - a day early, no less! I picked it up yesterday afternoon and it has hardly left my hand since. Currently topped with a Smoktech Pyrex DCT, but I have three IBTanked 22mm tanks ordered and on the way. I agree with many who've said it's not as big as it appears in pictures - I've used it in 18490 and 18650 mode and the larger configuration is actually a better fit for my big hands. For me, it's much more comfortable to hold/use than my previous Twists/Spinners. Battery life with the AW IMR 18650 is impressive - I put a fully charged one into it yesterday at 4:00 pm, chain vaped it all night until about 1:00 am, then vaped it again today until I finally got the blinking low battery flash at noon - 20 hours of vaping (somewhere around 8-9 ml as a guesstimate - I didn't measure, but was switching back and forth between two DCTs and topped them both off a couple times).

Everything was flawless upon delivery and I'm impressed with the quality and construction - it's definitely a solid, sturdy, well-built device. I wasn't sure I'd like the one-button menu system, but getting used to it didn't take long and it's easy enough to work through. The vape is beautiful - it's nice to get a consistent, even vape from the time you put the battery in until it goes dead.

I was initially hesitant to drop the cash on a ProVari and considered getting my feet wet with a Vamo, SVD, etc. - glad I decided to "buy once, cry once" instead. Not one bit of buyer's regret here - in fact, I'm already considering whether I want a mini or another regular in 18490 configuration as a backup. Count me as a satisfied ProVari owner!

Glad to be of help to you. Enjoy your new Provari. Now you understand the "buy once, cry once - regret it never" slogan. I see another Provari in your future. :toast:

I've had my ProVari for 9 months now. It is my main device, and goes everywhere. It's been dropped many times, hard enough once to break a Phiniac tank (((sob))). It's satin black, and the only scuffs are on the bottom of the 18650 extension cap from sitting it down on it all the time. I use the Pila charger, and have never had an issue. I have another Vari for a backup mod...it never gets used. Welcome to the club!
