Ok gonna get this off my chest before bed. Sorry family but it's eating at me.
I'm the oldest person at the shop I work at. (no names so no rules broken). Most of these kids are young enough to be my children and maybe even grand kids. It just pisses me off when I come in with a Provari, or a Legacy mechanical with a sub ohm wick I made. All I hear is they want one. I made some SS wicks for my nova's when we couldn't get em. I didn't sell em I just made my own. Now all I hear is I want, I want, How much to make me one.
I want a Provari like you, or I want one of your Legacy's, or a SB. I want a kick but please tell me what it is first?
I'm so feed up with this. I want a tank like yours. (Phiniac or IB tanks are all I use), Just got a Kanger Pro tank and now they all want one.
One actually said he was thinking about giving me a dollar for one of my Provari's. I told him it was ok to think, that was his right. He really took it to mean I would give him a Provari for a dollar, just because he thought about it. OMG.
Same questions. If I give you the money will you get me one. Same answer. Do you have a computer and internet at home.
Yes.
Then get it yourself just like I did.
Figure it out kids. It's called the WorldWideWeb for a reason. Don't depend on me to do it for your lazy ....
You want to build a wick then go to you tube. That's how this old man learned.
But I don't know how.
Then learn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok rant over. And all this after having to wear a respirator mask for the painter cause of the fumes messing with my COPD, and also haveing a dumb .... pull a gun at the cash register. OMG What are we going to depend on. These are the people that will take care of me when I'm to old to do it myself. Hell no I'll go out in a blaze of glory. With pride and a smile on my face. (I just hope she's pretty). Oh heck I already know she is so it's all covered.

I tend to agree and sadly I'm only 31 so probably not too far away from the age range of these kids on your shop.
I learned to do on my own though.
It's not that hard, but my generation and the one coming up behind it have been getting lazier. Raised with this entire "if its hard get someone else to do it" mentality. You can't challenge kids anymore because some idiot out there thinks failure is not a less but just "hurts people's feelings".

I plan to learn to rebuild. I don't expect to be a pro at it from day one. I expect to have some really terrible builds, but I will learn. What's the point of a RBA if you can't do it on your own?

I think of myself as a totally noob at RBA's but my boss is going to have me set up a work shop to teach others how to do what I can do. God help us all. When I built my first sub ohm coil, now he thinks I'm an expert. Geezzz I'm just trying and with my hands the way they are its really hard. (hope I can use my magnifying light to help with this) LOL. And if I can't use my Provari, then all bets are off.

Good god they don't know what Google is?

Just say provape.com and don't say another word. Or ivape or surevapes for protanks, etc. I think they are just busting your chops. Take them out for a snipe hunt in the ghetto area of your city and leave them there.

I only got about halfway through your rant. But the reason why these kids want what you have is because they are probably new vapors, and since you work at a vape shop, they will assume you have the best-functioning gear and know a lottt about vaping and what works best. If I got into gardening, I would also assume the guy working at the gardening store knows which products will work the best for what I'm growing, and how to garden!

Don't forget that when you first discover vaping it can be exciting trying all the different products and finding what works best for you.. I don't know about you guys, but if my local vape shop didn't have great customer service, and didn't help me when I began vaping and explain different products and such to me, I probably would have stuck to the internet for all my information and purchases instead of paying the extra dollar locally.

I'm only 22, when I started vaping a few months ago and started going into my local B&M, I was pretty intrigued by the worker's big Provari and I also asked what it was, how it was, and where I could get one. And the worker gladly told me, they've told me where to get other products online that they didn't carry also
:)

I guess I can see how it could be frustrating though, not trying to be that condescending ... or play devils advocate lol.. I'm actually trying to get a job at my local vape store too so I'll probably be in the same boat. When the time comes that I want to start rebuilding my own coils/wicks, I'd definitely go to youtube, not my local B&M. And most issues I've had, I usually ask you guys here hah

The job just like ECF has certain rules that I must go by to be comfortable with each one. I don't mention the shop name here on ECF and I don't mention ECF at the shop. Sad but true fact of life. But CASAA is a whole nother story. I'm more than glad to have a provari or a p;hiniac tank special ordered for customers. They just don't want to pay 50 to 60 usd for a tank when they can get a piece of junk for 10 or 12.

Those kids sound like iphone toting hipsters. With Siri instead of Google Now (well, now the iphone does have Google Now), she probably has no idea who to search adequately for such a site.

ok, I Kid.... or am I?
